hot wash??? Use the Allergy setting
After no hot wash from this machine, and many, many calls to F&P and 4 attempted repairs to get a hot wash over 6 months (no it was not the water pressure!!!)... new valves, new control board ... Finally, someone at the tech dept told my repair man these machines only have one way to give a hot wash.
Use the Allergy setting. Yep, that's the fix! And it does work, I can now get a fairly hot wash... sort of half way between hot and warm. This is the only choice. The manual says every cycle can give a choice of cold, warm or hot ... it's a lie. O...
Disappointed with this product
Not buying another one of these “new” model Fisher and Paykel Washers, It locks during the rinse cycle, the hot water hose busted, the lid and inside seal has rusted, Why Fisher and Paykel? Why?

5 years old and wings on agitator are breaking. Often doesn`t pump hot water in. Sometimes gets stuck in the cycle.
Machine does wash clean. Load size is good. On the Quick Wash I would prefer the wash time to be longer. I only use Regular and Quick Cycles. Hot water only sometimes comes out, when on warm wash. Agitator wings are breaking off, and it is only 5 1/2years old. Sometimes not often, it gets stuck on wash and I have to come along and move it to the next part of the cycle by pressing.

Had this machine for about 6 yrs replaced balance rods recently which fixed the balance issue but am on my 3rd agitator due to fin broken again obviously a fault and these are not cheap, seems to happen every 2 yrs or so, does wash clean and big bowl but agitator should stand up to the fact that it is a large 10kg machine would stay clear of Fisher & paykel I wont buy another 1
Balancing issues & loud banging (drum)
After 5 years with no issue, this machine starting to make a loud banging noise and then error 'Out of Balance'.
It sometimes didn't error but where it had 10 minutes to finish it would jump back to the previous cycle and have 20 minutes remaining. This sometimes went on for 2 or 3 times.
After googling the problem and speaking to a technician, it ended up being the balancing rods. I was quoted $380 from the technician to get these replaced. There is 4 of them, one in each corner.
This was way too much in my opinion and was considering buyi...ng a new washer, however reading the reviews it seems every washer has its own problems. I didn't get it fixed and left it for a while (6 months), as it sometimes worked okay and other times it would stop. So in the end it got annoying and I decided to fix it myself.

I liked this, it was better than what I had before. Cleans well plus being a tradie it helps when something does it’s job so I would recommend it to anyone

No fluff filter!
i love that it has a big choice of cycles to choose from but it has no filter to catch the fluff so it ends up stuck to your clothes! I followed the instructions as to turning garments inside out if they are lint collectors but to no avail, still gets fluff on them!
Good in some ways
Its quiet...It spin dries well...washes clothes satisfactory...sheets are another matter, nothing but tangles..goes out of balance even with one sheet in it... machine only lasted aproximately 4 yrs...loss of balance completetly and now shut down with no power...power board blown..cheaper to buy another machine...like every thing these days nothing is built to last its a throwaway society I'm afraid..no pride in any workmanship these days..hard to know what to replace it with...buy cheap and throw away again in a couple of years I think is the only way to go...
We brought it after 8 years old NEC machine died.
This unit is quite due to the direct drive moto.
Eazy to use. Wash result is good. No lint filter but do not have any problem with that.
The machine has a lid locker when it start washing, if you open the lead for a while it will drain all water out of machine. Fisher & Paykel claim this is a safe feature can prevent young kit get in the machine if it's full filled with water. But we do not like it.

Machine constantly show out of balance error,
google shows it may be suspension rod failed.
Parts out stock on most place ,
The original OEM parts cost around $180 for 4 rods, only last 3.5 years ....
Leaking water & not spinning
We bought this machine from Appliances Online(who are terrific) in January 2014, as it had water saving features & was designed for family loads.
Not being able to interupt a load mid stream, is annoying but we soon got used to that. It is also quite rough on delicates, so they need to be put into a wash bag. You also need to be careful of buckles & straps which may damage the plastic agitator.
However, in the last few weeks it has had quite a few problems & of course is out of warranty. Firstly it started to leak water during the spin cycle...

Out of balance
Initially quite happy with product and luckily we had taken extended cover as the control panel failed (April 2016) and was replaced under warranty. We purchased through Appliances Online and they were very helpful. This week (Sept 2017) the machine has started to go out of balance. Tried manually rearranging washing and also used Auto setting for rebalance but no good. Rechecked levels with supplied level which confirmed ok. Just left a few light items in machine still no luck, finally took all clothes out and it worked fine...Ha Ha. Still hav...e a few months of extended warranty so will be onto Customer care tomorrow. One reviewer has suggested that suspension rods may be the culprit..stay tuned. Great for the soul to handwriting clothes before hanging them on the clothes line. 3 October 2017 A great technician from our local appliance repair firm confirmed that the struts were faulty and replaced them today. i asked him what was his opinion of F & P Washing machines and he said he owns one and thinks they are good quality. He thought that perhaps the 10kg ones may put a strain on parts and prefers the 7-8kg model. That being said he had not seen meany issues with them and said wear and tear is something you cannot avoid. He did say that he would recommend buying the extended warranty on all items purchased these days given the computer components can fail. We took out the extra cover and have easily covered the two call outs.
Its not too noisy
After the clothes are washed, some white bluffs are stained on the clothes. You need to manually remove the white bluffs. This is the first time i use Fisher & Paykel. Its running quietly in the background. Clothes meed to be pkaced in circular. The middle must be empty. If i chuck sll the clothes in, the clothes won't be rinsed andd the machine makes this noise to notify u of a problem.
Bad Customer Service from Customer Care ( N.Z)
While it is a great machine to have with large load! Super quiet etc. But unfortunately, once it just over warranty we have an issue with ' out of balance' message.... on and off for a few weeks! We finally called Fisher & Paykel and booked for a service ( had to wait for 3 - 4 days) the Technicial came 23/6/17 but did not have the parts with him, he said he ordered now ( on-line while he was still at our house) and should be available on the 1/7-17. However, I rang back a few times to check where the parts re at and I was rebooked for the se...rvice on the 3/7/17 but no one came, no one from F&P rang me to inform me what is going on ....I tried to ring back and was told by F& P that no parts available indefinitely because they do not know when it is available also they lied about rebooking for my service ( apparently no service was booked for the 3/7/17) and hanged up on me a few times while I was put on Hold ( Anna, Loma if you are reading this, I am talking about you both from customers care service Unit)! The guys are so unprofessional and incompetent! Not really care about customers at all after SALE! I am still waiting for my machine to be fixed, it could be weeks or months ( they have no idea when the parts are arrived and from where? How pathetic!) I have dirty clothes that can not be washed and yet they do not even offer to ' lend us an old Machine' so we can wash our clothes while we are waiting??? This is so frustrating, I will not buy anything from F&P any more from now on! They are so incompetent and uncaring and the lack of service from them is so unprofessional! Think twice before you buy any goods from F& P! They do not provide any after sale service at all , the calls made from Australia went straight to N.Z call centre and they just hanged up on you after putting you on hold so they do not have to DEAL with your issues so you just have to try to ring back and getting no where with them! Very Unhappy & FRUSTRATED CUSTOMERS! When will my washing machine be FIXED? God knows, they only need to replace 4 suspensions pads ( cost to buy these pads/parts $30 for 4) but F&P does not seem to know where to order them and when they are available???? How WEIRD is that?
i just installed my new 10kg and set test run and it filled up started to empty and half way through it stopped with no drn what dose this mean its not in user guide ?? iv got a lot of washing to do the old washer died and i need to get the washing done
Great capacity for family
The best thing about this washer is the capacity. For our family, which generates a lot of laundry on a weekly basis the 10kg load allows us to get everything in. Also good for bed linen and have even washed sleeping bags in it. has soak feature which is good to have as well as quick wash if u are in a hurry. It is quiet and does not seem too harsh on our clothes. Only downside is if u pause the machine on some cycles it goes back to the beginning.

I have this machine. It continually goes out of balance. I have tried everything I can find on the net. The first thing I did was buy new suspension rods and fit them. Seemed to work ok for a few days, then out of balance again every second or third load. I've made sure the machine is completely level using a level. I've run the initial installation procedure / program on the machine. Nothing works. Is there anything else I can try??
The funny thing is it can say out of balance, I can then remove everything from the machine so it's completely empty, then hit go again, and it still says out of balance. Often I have to unplug it from the wall, leave it 30 mins then plug it back in and sometimes it will suddenly work and spin the clothes perfectly. That happens without touching anything inside the machine. So the load was obviously never really "out of balance". Is there anything else I can try. I like the machine otherwise, but this "out of balance" issues is slowly making it unusable.
Edit - I've just check my email and it turns out I bought the new suspension rods at the end of July. The machine worked well for a month, before now going out of balance again all the time. This out of balance started again in early September. Surely it can't be that the new suspension rods only lasted a month?

Hi Don, we can move the load in ours three or four times and still it beeps. We have set the level a number of times. Monica I will do what Jackie suggests and contact Fisher Paykel
If I hand wash in a tub, is there a way to select 'spin only' with this washer?
should i have water in the plastic bottom part of my bowl, the part that is connected to the stainless part? could this be causing an imbalance error?
