Flexistayz (page 2 of 2)
I could not have wished for a better place.
My host has been nothing short of fantastic during the whole duration of my stay as well as in the early planning stages of my journey. He responded immediately and conclusively to all my inquiries. The apartment was a delight to live at - and the neighborhood was the best I could have possibly chosen for my stay in Melbourne. I highly recommend this apartment to anyone who has the pleasure of visiting Melbourne.

Fantastic location, convenient and comfortable
Stayed for a month recently, and it was a perfect place, within close walking distance of public transport if you need to get around. There were so many shops, cafes and restaurants around the corner, and the house had a kitchen with all the cookware to prepare your own meals. Staff were very welcoming and helpful and I really enjoyed my time there.
Great short term accommodation.
Stayed here recently for short term accommodation whilst looking for more permanent option.
The staff were very accommodating and were flexible with our needs. Really helpful with everything and very friendly.
The accommodation is great and we met some amazing people whilst staying here.
In very convenient location - easy to get around.
Perfect place for short and long term accommodation.

Nice place and a convenient location
Stayed here recently and the staff and other guests were all really nice and friendly. The location was perfect, in the heart of Carlton, a short walk to the city and close to restaurants and cafes.

A very good accommodation
The accommodation that I chose to stay was located in the beautiful and alternative Brunswick! the house was really nice with gym, amazing backyard and barbecue area. The house is close to shops, bars, restaurants and public transports.
I would highly recommend Flexistayz to someone who wants to meet new people in the house and wants to be very close to the city.
It's clean and perfect location
The apartment is clean and it has perfect location as it nears to South Yarra train station and tram station (it's around 10 minutes walking distance). The staffs are nice and kind.

This is perfect!!
Great location, really pleasant and clean rooms, but the thing that makes this such a good place to stay are the staff. All of the people are incredibly helpful and generous with their time and advice. I got to meet people from all over the world who were in a similar situation to myself (not knowing anyone but here to study).
Thanks for making my visit to Melbourne that much better.
Worst company I've ever been with.
After moving to Melbourne as a backpacker, we (a friend and I) found the property on Rathdowne Street. We were in a rush to move in as we had been backpacking for several months previously and we were anxious to have our own space.
Very shortly after moving in we realised what a mistake we had made.
While some staff were helpful, others were rude and pushy. The first 3 months of living in this property there were 3 forks, 2 spoons and 4 knives and plastic crockery in the kitchen despite the property constantly having 10-12 residents. This ...

Avoid at all costs
Stayed in their house on Rathdowne Street for 5 months, and it was the worst experience I have ever had with landlords. Ever. The general management of the property was absolutely awful, coupled with several recurrent illegal practices (i.e. not giving notice before doing visits of your room, or not lodging bonds to the RTBA and refusing to refund them at the end of the lease). I called the RTBA to enquire about my bond 4 months into the lease, and they told me they never received the money, and that they hadn't received a bond for the room I was occupying since 2014! They are also waaay overpriced for the service they offer - definitely look somewhere else, you'll find better, cheaper, and more importantly honest accommodation/landlord.

Would not recommend
Over priced. Utterly useless management and unorganized. Avoid at all costs.
Photos misleading, accidentally lost my keys and they charged a nonsense $50 charge. Internet doesn't work.
Tiny filthy rooms.

We loved our stay here!
Beautiful big room, lots of space in the house. Well organised and perfect location for exploring Fitzroy and Carlton while still close to the city. Friendly housemates and lots of space :) Wish we didn't have to leave! Thanks guys!
Horribly overpriced and unorganized
Ridiculously overpriced. Rent of about $240 a week for a shared room. Each tenant pays an extra $10.50 a week for internet which doesn't work whenever more than 3 people are home trying to connect. Keep in mind anywhere between 10 and 12 people live here at one time. When you sign your lease, management assures you that whatever requests for supplies you need during your stay will be catered to, and just to give them a call. I had multiple requests ignored for necessary items like soap, sponges, paper towel, etc. They say cleaners come once a w...
Read moreeek, but the cleaners only clean the bathrooms, counters, and floors. They don't provide bath mats so the floors of the bathroom are always soaking wet so mud gets tracked throughout the house. Almost all of the cupboards and drawers are unhinged, kitchen and bathrooms are horrendous. There's an unworking bbq outside and garbage everywhere in the back patio. Tenants have reported seeing rats in the house and management says they'll take care of it right away but no action is taken. I would not recommend this company to anyone.Find out how Flexistayz compares to other Booking Services

Against the law, filthy, unsafe and unworthy.
Living here is easily one of my worst life decisions. I was new to melbourne and had little knowledge of the city and the cost of living in it. So I signed away to flexistayz as it was convenient. I soon figured out that the prices are ridiculously high for the conditions you live in. A tiny room with 12 other housemates who steal your food from the fridge and leave the common areas absolutely putrid. On the business side of things, they don't lodge your bond ( against the law). And the owner has actually been black listed by vcat and had to st...
Read moreart reading under a different name. They take advantage of foreign people/young people/old people who don't really understand much about melbourne or rental laws. They also ask tenants to move to another property if they have found someone who will pay a higher price than you. Really unsettling. When I lived here all of the housemates also regretted choosing flexistayz.Stayz AWAY!!!!
They are just disgusting. I was paying $1200 a month for a small SINGLE room in a house shared with 12 other people!! Cleaners were supposed to be there every Monday to clean the whole place, but I've only seen them once in 6 weeks of my stay.
On top of all the expenses, washing machine and dryer weren't free ($4 for a wash and $3 for a dryer cycle MINIMUM) and the house wasn't in a good location at all, so I had to get a tram twice a day to get to work in the city. I even paid a cleaning fee when I left the place ($120).
It took them two mon...

A great place to call home
I have stayed with Flexistayz for four years at two Carlton properties and absolutely love it. The management have their guests satisfaction as their priority and I have always been looked after.
The locations are close to everything including shops, restaurants, night life, public transports and tourist attractions.
I would recommend Flexistayz to anyone moving to Melbourne as a way to settle in a new city, and make friends with others in the house.
Great!
Stayed in the Peers St Brunswick East property. House was in excellent condition and cleaned regularly. Any maintenance issues were dealt with promptly and professionally. Management were very accomodating :)
Long term tenant enjoying my stay
I have been a long term tenant with Flexi Stayz now for well over a year and I have enjoyed my stay. The houses are all in great locations and are very accessible to major public transport routes and shopping amenities. I have never had a problem with the management there, as I find them very helpful and they have always sorted out any issues that arise with an efficient manner. They are all very approachable and I have also created a great friendship with them, they have also helped me out to find work when I've have hit hard times, which I appreciate dearly!.
Thanks for the hospitality Flexistayz team!
Stayed in Grattan St, Carlton property over summer. Fantastic location, kept spotless by housekeeping, great experience overall, don't know what everyone's on about, got my bond back within seven days of leaving

Better be homeless
The house is in very bad condition, water leakages everywhere. They do not lodge your bond with RTBA, which is sort of a crime. They take at least 2 months to refund the bond, which the other agents do by less than a week. They are also very poor at replying emails. Stay away if you value your money.

Great apartment, even better location
Great, convenient location and lovely apartment. The Flexistayz team are wonderful hosts. I enjoyed my stay there and I would recommend this place to anyone, who is looking for a dynamic and close-to-the-city area to live.
Warning!!!
Looks like we all feel the same about Flexistays. Rent amount is high for the room I was in, the house was not properly cleaned & things always breaking then taking so long to be replaced. My bond wasn't lodged (was told it would be) and then it took a number of months to get my bond money back despite contacting them heaps of times. Not a good place to stay and I also think that they take advantage of people.... Wouldn't recommend anybody to stay with them.
STEER CLEAR!
Im currently a tennant @ flexistays paying $450 a week. Im in one of the better houses but have fellow house mates that have been put in a blender by management. Firstly they do not lodge your bond, if you are even charged a bond! We were but some tennants havent. They are not consistent or fair with every tennant. Secondly the owner Bill has been black listed with Vcat and has had to trade under a different name. Thirdly they charge a completly illegal cleaning fee upon moving out and considering the room are not clean upon moving in it a joke! They take advantage of international people who dont know Australian laws. Do not move in with flexistayz!

A Total Rip-off
This place was a total rip-off for a number of reasons:
1. The owner had transformed old shop lot into a short stay home. It kinda felt like a place for backpackers, except you got to decide on the length of the lease, ranging from 1 month to 12 months, and the rental varies according the length of lease. In other words, the longer you stay, the better, but not substantially better, the rate is. I signed up for a 6 month lease and I had to pay A$320 per week, which is equivalent to approximately A$1300 per month. The rent included water, ele...
Read morectricity and Internet. Yet, here's the catch: There were only 2 bathrooms (one on upstairs and another downstairs) and one kitchen in the property, and they had to be shared among 12 co-tenants. Whilst my main point here was not to talk about the inconvenience associated with sharing bathroom with so many people, I have to say that the experience was a nightmare. There were 8 co-tenants living upstairs, including myself, and sometimes tenants from downstairs would come up to use the bathroom even though the one on downstairs was vacant. If you think about it, do the math and some research, A$320 was the rate most people in Melbourne would pay for a studio apartment. College Square on Lygon, for instance, charged A$300 per week for a Single Studio apartment, excluding utility bills, and tenant gets his/her own bathroom and kitchen. Taking into account all bills, the rent would amount to approximately A$1300 per month, which is the same amount as Flexistayz, plus, you get peace of mind of having your own bathroom. At Flexistayz, you'd have to contend with others to get into the bathroom, which at times was monopolized by inconsiderate co-tenants. 2. It is part of the standard procedure that property owners or managers carry out reference checks to ensure that tenants are not some bad elements. I wasn't suggesting that the tenants at Flexistayz were indecent, I was merely pointing out the fact that reference check wasn't carried out by Flexistayz simply suggests that you don't know who you'd be living with, and hence, won't feel safe living here. Just 2 weeks into staying here, I'd already heard cases of furniture being stolen, keys went missing, backdoor was left open etc. So, I wondered if I really have to pay this much of rent to feel unsafe here. 3. On the website it said kitchen utensils were provided. Yes, it's true that they were provided and everyone in the house was expected to share these utensils. While I believed the rationale behind sharing was a benign one, I was not certain if I should do so since hygiene and safety weren't being taken into consideration. Based on my observation, tenants here usually did not put the dishes away after cooking and allowed them to pile up for a few days. Even the way they wash the dishes made me hesitate to want to share them. So, I ended up buying my own utensils and dishwashing liquid. What's more, the kitchen was always left messy and filthy. 4. The cleaner came in weekly to clean the common areas, kitchen and bathrooms. The charges, according to the management, were included in the rent. In other words, we were paying the cleaner to only come on every Tuesday to clean the house. I lived in places like College Square and Unilodge, these places had cleaner(s) coming in once every 2 days to keep the common area and bathrooms clean. Furthermore, at Unilodge, I only had to pay half the price of what I paid for Flexistayz and I got a pretty decent place to live in. Most importantly, security is enforced to ensure the safety of all tenants, which was something Flexistayz had failed in. You may think that was too much to ask for. But, if you're really not prepared to pay unjustified amount of rent to live in this kind of environment, I strongly suggest that you steer clear of Flexistayz.ProductReview.com.au has affiliate partnerships.
