Great tasting food and great meal options, disappointing portion sizes and value for money.
As a consumer of many food delivery services in the Melbourne area to date, I decided to give Foober a try. After reading great reviews online, I was excited to try the meals. Generally, I concur with other reviewers online that, the food offered from Foober is great tasting. However, after enquiring online about the portion size of each meal, I found that the portion sizes do fluctuate quite substantially between respective meals. They are tasty and nutritious, but almost insulting to the consumer in the actual size of each portion for a pricing of $9.95. I feel that in order to compete in a growing convenience market, Foober must increase it's portion sizes considerably. Over rated
I would say that some foods are alright while others tend to be really salty where you cant eat it. There variety is pretty scarce, i believe it would be better of they updated/swapped around their menu say every fortnight. Delivery is pretty good though. In terms of costs efficiency i would say it reasonable although be careful when you want to cancel cause they charge you a fee. All in all its ok just lacks in a few areas. In my opinion i would recommend youfoodz over foober any day.

A bit hit and miss
Some of the dishes are delicious, others are not but these things are subjective so try for yourself. Customer service if you ring is excellent, messenger "live chat" is more "slow chat". Can takes minutes to hours for a response. We tried both Keto and Vegetarian food for 2 weeks but there just simply is not enough variety to go a 3rd week. Too, they are expensive and the delivery fee of $15 is a turnoff. Portion size is not too bad. If I were to recommend a dish it would be the Spinach Feta and Ricotta Involtini. Its delicious, there is also eggplant in that dish but for some odd reason it doesn't state that. The chia balls are also very nice.

Foober works but needs more variety and really needs to sort out delivery
I've tried a lot of meal delivery programs, Youfoodz, Odyssey Lean, you name it and Foober does work well in that the meals are reasonably filling and tasty as well as good for weight loss. Unfortunately due to the lack of menu variety, ongoing issues with delivery and broken containers, I stopped using them.
Good customer service, not so good food.
The customer service was great, but I found the food quite average and most of the containers leaked & just dip for a snack doesn’t seem like it is a complete snack... am I meant to buy more to have with it?

Think twice before you commit
The food is pretty hit and miss. To be fair, we did enjoy about half of them. The other half were not enjoyable, they just weren't tasty or too tasty (e.g. very coconut-y, extremely salty, too sweet but I get it, everyone has different tastes so we were willing to keep going). The service however, is extremely lacking. Despite taking a fair bit of time to make changes to my meals, they still sent the standard meal plan resulting in about six meals being thrown away. Customer service then proceeded to tell me that it was me, that perhaps the cha...
Read morenges I made didn't come through even though I received a confirmation email with the list of meals and had already told them that. After 18 minutes of back and forth (so unnecessary especially with the confirmation plus I had already sent a detailed message prior to tell them what the issue was), I eventually got a refund for the six meals, which is a positive but doesn't take away the frustration and hassle of having to replace these meals. And the snacks... At $2 a pop, you certainly don't expect to receive dips. I mean, what am I meant to do with a dip (obviously buy something to dip into it but that defeats the purpose of a complete meal delivery no?). When I asked, the response was, you can change it in future (funny, they thought there'd be a future) if you like but our customers love it. Really? I do wonder if they're not listed on Google for fear of real reviewers telling it like it is.4 comments

I do acknowledge this in my review, which I do believe is a fair description of what went down (in fact, I didn't even detail that in our phone conversation, you kept saying I'd placed the wrong order - more below) and I'm not sure what you mean by not accepting your assistance when it was pretty much a back and forth about the issue to which I said I really don't have time to do this, all I am after is a cancellation of my subscription of my plans and a refund for the SIX meals (not all of it). I even offered to pay for shipping since I was cancelling the plans. Now, you very kindly once again state that this is my mistake. That I had made a mistake in my order. I actually figured out what went wrong but decided to not ring back because it's not my responsibility to tell you what's wrong with your process. Let me make this very clear for you and everyone else. I placed the order on 2 July and that is the confirmation that I sent to you after our chat with the list of meals. This is proof of what I had picked, which again, I had sent to you after our chat. On the phone, you talk about a 10 July order - that was NOT AN ORDER FROM ME. One of your staff rang up for feedback and we said we'd like to add on snacks if possible. She said no problem and must have reverted both orders to the standard plan. At no point did I change my order - YOU DID. So really, it's your mistake hence my expectation of a refund for the six wrong meals. Do not put this on me and maybe check your system.To B.Foober

I have sent an email to info. Asking about low salt or no salt options, my first week on, and I have to say I’m finding it hard to enjoy due to all I can taste is salt.

Hi V, thanks so much for sharing your feedback. Weve averaged salt in our meals to a level where we get minimal negative feedback on there being too much or too little salt. If you can notify us via email of the meals which are tasting salty then i will definitely pass it on to the chef asap.
Thank you for your reply, The dishes that I have found extremely salty are the Frittata, loaded lasagna (was salt loaded), in fact every cooked dish on week one menu,
I find that I need to add a cucumber, hand full of salad leaves or a tomato, otherwise it’s very hard to swallow, all I can taste is Salt.
I hope this is sorted, as I would love to continue to order my meals from Foober, the great news! I have lost 1 kg in the first week, only ten to go!

Can the meals be frozen at all and would this affect the flavour/texture?

Hi Jen, I am a customer of Foober therefore not replying in their behalf but they do say you can frreeze the meals. I haven't so I don't know if it would affect the flavour but I do they are all delicious. Ive tried many others and this is by far the best ever! Cheers
Yes I have frozen several meals - the lasagna in particular was just as good.
I let the salad thaw out at room temperature & eat immediately.

Hi Jen, the weight loss plans are mostly calorie based, only the keto plan is keto. The best option for you would be to do the calorie calculator which will recommend the best plan :)
