I felt I'd been conned.
On Saturday morning I saw a bed I'd like and was quoted $540 with free delivery.
A little later in the day I received an SMS to say the exact product wasn't in stock but they had a similar one, in a different brand, for only $60 more.
I went in on Monday morning to learn the true price is almost $800, which is a long way from the original promise of $540.
No prizes for guessing why I rate them with only the one star

Purchased a bed over 4 weeks ago. Ian the pushy sales guy said it would be a 3 week delivery...alarm bells rang hen I saw a female sales assistant look at him in a strange way. Got told last week it should be around a week. Phoned again and have now been told the shipping container should arrive in Sydney in 3 weeks then delivery a week after that making it now 8 weeks....Ridiculous!!! I have no faith we will be seeing the bed anytime soon and without much pain!

Keesh - manager had no sympathy or genuine care, didn't even greet us with a hello just said have two options,$200 off the damaged stock or wait for new frame.
Had to get quite upset to get a refund.
Will never shop here ever again as they don't care for their customers at all.
Good sales assistance until after purchase. We purchased a Sealy Edinburgh Mattress and it is nothing like the one we tried in store - even after weeks rotating and of trying to break it in. It is hard as a rock. We both have bad necks and backs to the point we can barely walk. The only thing the store offered was a mattress topper for a discount price. We should have the opportunity to swap it within a period. VERY disappointed as we spent way over our budget to get a quality mattress and we can't sleep in it.
My partner and I recently purchased a bed from the Mackay store after much effort trying different beds from different stores we found forty winks to have great customer service and we had an awesome shopping experience . Also we believe we got a great deal definitely worth a look

Great customer service
We had excellent customer service from the moment we walked into the store. We didnt make a decision straight away, in fact we returned to the store on several occasions to measure up, at no stage was any pressure put on us. Once we had chosen what we wanted we found out the store didnt deliver on the day we needed, not a problem the staff member offered to deliver it for us on his day off, on the Sunshine Coast!! Nothing was too much trouble. Very impressed.

Stay away from Forty Winks Toowoomba for your own health's sake
My husband and I visited numerous businesses throughout an entire weekend in Toowoomba looking for a king size mattress. How foolish were we to purchase a mattress from the male Store Manager at Forty Winks who used all the cons in the sales book. On 25/8/19 we paid $3300 up front for a King size MySide (both sides level red) series 6 mattress to be made brand new especially for us. The mattress was delivered to us 10 days later. This mattress was clearly a used/preowned bed. It had 2cm indentations on both left and right sides of mattres...s where others had already left there body signatures. The sides of the pillow top were bulging severely on both sides. All four corners of the mattress were pulling upwards at varying heights. Stitching was coming undone in many areas all over mattress. I felt several areas of pilling on top of the mattress and a small brown mark at foot of bed. We immediately complained to the male Store Manager at Forty Winks who sent the Kingsdown Rep to our home to inspect the mattress. We were told by the Kingsdown Rep many things eg. this is normal...you just need to sleep on it for a couple of months until it settles (and voids the warranty) She then blamed the transport staff for damaging mattress. She offered to make us another mattress. We refused. My husband and I travelled back to Forty Winks that afternoon wanting a refund. Not only were we refused a refund but we were told to leave the store by the male Store Manager. I contacted Kingsdown Customer Service and she told me they had already given Forty Winks a credit for the mattress. I contacted the ACCC to find out our rights. They informed me we had the right for a full refund because the product Forty Winks sold us had major defects. We contacted the male Store Manager and told him what the ACCC advised us. The male Store Manager relented and then told us we wouldn't be given a full refund until he inspected the mattress and found no stains as Forty Winks were going to resell it. So beware, you could end up buying this used/preowned mattress like we did.

I shopped at the Toowoomba store and was greeted by a lovely young lady by the name of Amy. Amy took the time with us with her customer service being A1. Very polite and explained to the point. I congratulate Amy for her old fashioned service . I bought and walked out very happy.

Bought a My Side (Series 4 - Green) mattress from their Logan store. They use a "bed match" gimmick to get you in and direct you towards the mattresses they want to sell irrespective of whether it's what you need.
I got to try out a few beds and decided which one I found the most comfortable. At that point the saleswoman started pushing for a sale. I mentioned that I had just bought a bed frame from Ikea and wanted to make sure that the mattress fit the frame well. She told me that the double mattress was a standard size and would fit any d...ouble bed frame. No mention was made of the fact that this mattress is incompatible with certain types of wooden slats nor that this can potentially void the warranty. Yesterday I had a manufacturer rep out to look at the mattress to determine why it feels so much softer than the floor model and is starting to sag. It was only then that I found out that I had the "wrong slats" and I needed to replace them. I called the store to say that I wanted a refund because I had purchased this mattress on the basis of a dishonest sales pitch. I was told that as there is nothing wrong with the mattress they can't issue a refund and it is not their responsibility to advise on the thousands of bed frames that they don't sell! It is also not possible to return a mattress that has been slept on over change of mind due to hygiene issues, something which was not disclosed at time of sale. They even claimed that no one has ever made a complaint of this nature before, which I don't believe at all because the moment I told her the result of the inspection she said "Oh, you have posture slats?". Way too aware of the problem for me to have been the first customer affected. No warranty info was given to me at the time of purchase save that the warranty period is 10 years. 10 years does me no good if their nondisclosure voids the warranty. Despite repeated requests I have received NO warranty information. Who knows what other fine print exists that will void my warranty?

I would like to write a review about the excellent service and advice I received when purchasing a mattress, ensemble & pillow at the Aspley Store from Jan Stone.
Her service and knowledge of products was exemplary and her manner was helpful and friendly. I walked out the the store highly confident with what I had purchase.
A new customer
OMG we’ve just put down a deposit for our ( expensive) new mattress with forty winks at bundaberg ........after reading some of these reviews , I’m really worried now about quality/ after sales service/ delivery/ so many people said that their brand new mattress sagged and had terrible problems within a few months.....
We had a brilliant young sales person, who was quite new to the job, but gave us 120% of her time and knowledge ( she was happy to defer to a more experienced person a few times, which we were happy with) this was one of the reasons we happily bought the mattres.
I really hope we can be one of the positive feedback reviews after sleeping on our new mattress

Brand new and sunken mattress-update
Update: the people helping on this site have amazed me with how quickly and efficiently they've corrected this problem. Thank you for taking the time to listen and help the customers that need help from higher up. We received ongoing updates via messaging and phone calls within an hour of my posting the problem, to the manufacturers staying in touch with us every step of the way, to the transport company keeping us always in the loop or where the new mattress was.

Don't order if you're in a hurry !
I ordered a bed from the Kawana store. I was disappointed to hear it would take two weeks to get it. Now I've learnt that they won't have the bed until well after the two weeks I was told. The worst part is that even when they do get it they don't intend to deliver it to me until four days later...You would think that because I've waited for so long they would make an effort to get it to me sooner - but it's obviously not convenient for them. Terrible service.

Not happy with mattress quality
I purchased a Crown queen plush mattress almost 3 months ago and have persisted with sleeping on it in the hope that I’m imagining the feeling of falling out the side but my husband feels the same way. The middle of the mattress seems to go up higher when we are sleeping on it (the sort of thing you see in very old mattresses where there are body imprints either side). We can’t sleep on this mattress and are now sleeping in 2 separate spare beds to get a good nights sleep. Very disappointed and upset that we have paid for something we cannot sl...eep on and wouldn’t even try to sell to someone else. Happy with the service at Forty Winks Jindalee but as there’s no trial period for Crown mattresses we are stuck with it and made a very expensive mistake. Would have considered paying extra for a different mattress if offered a new one but definitely wouldn’t buy Crown again.
