Incompetent at every level

Unfortunately, Frank Health insurance is probably one of the worst companies I've ever dealt with. They incorrectly applied Lifetime Health Cover loading to my account, and then refused to acknowledge an international travel certificate from the federal immigration department that showed I wasn't eligible. When I moved funds, they also incorrectly stated I hadn't been a customer for over 60 days. It's been a nightmare to sort out. They're fine if you want super cheap insurance to avoid the Medicare Levy Surcharge, but customer service is dreadful and cannot get simply elements right. Show details

good policy

i received a bill for blood tests which is covered by medicare & frank health insurance , but frank insurance does not have a agreement with them so the bill was sent to me & i had to go to medicare & fill out a two way claim form, i am very busy with my wife in another hospital now , the policy is good value but frank needs to sort these little details out . First year I have been with Frank and they have been wonderful with telephone support especially with changing policies due to inadvertently choosing a policy that would exempt me from the Medicare Levy. Adequate for my needs

Policy was reasonable value and easy to set up about 3 years ago.
It was a lower cost than previous insurance provider with less frills which suited me. However, the overall amount paid out on claims is lower.

Have been with company over 5 yrs. have accessed it twice due to hospital visits. Frank paid all costs in first case. In second case we were forced to a private hospital and frank paid a substantial amount which I did not expect. Show details

I used to be with medibank private

Frank has the same benefits as medibank private but is a bit cheaper, I would say maybe 5%. I now pay around the same as when I had a medibank staff discount of 5%. The only negative is that the website is a bit hard to use, for example when you upgrade you cannot see your remaining balance anymore, but have to contact them. But overall I am very satisfied with Frank.
Update: they have improved the use of their website, and it is now very easy to submit photo claims therefore I changed from 4 to 5 stars. Very good value in the health insurance space. Show details

Just good health cover

I signed up to Frank a couple of years ago, thankfully haven't needed to use the cover. But it has been affordable enough to have for myself and my boys. I have needed to phone Frank a couple of times and every time, they have been very helpful. So I can't complain! Show details

The insurer that does not pay

I would urge anyone to consider other companies before Frank. No need to say more. The plan for which I paid for was paid in vain. What supposedly was covered was never.

Not only they don't pay, there is no service to help make sense of all of it.

When I clearly asked them over phone and emails what I needed, all was OK, when I needed to claim, nothing was paid. When I needed to understand why, they simply didn't care.

Took months to get my first payments, and other for which I have lost all hope of getting back.

Frankly, it's the best!

I moved to Frank a few years ago, and have had nothing but good experiences with them. My husband was in hospital and Rehab many times, and I never had to call Frank even once, with any issues. Everything was handled between Frank and the hospital concerned. I have always been very pleased. My husband passed away two months ago. It was the first time I had to talk to anyone. Could Frank be a scam?

Transferred from Health.com.au and tried to make a claim with Frank 5 times. Each time, they said they "never received it" and told me to change the file from a zip, to a pdf, then a jpg, then use a mobile service. Then finally, every claim has been knocked back, when it is clearly stated it is covered in the PDS. I've never had an issue with any Insurance company before, but these guys are clearly trying to steal insurance payments and not pay claims that are covered. Avoid Frank at all costs! Show details

Frank is making it very painful to get what you had in Health.com.au

I spent hours in contact with Frank through call, online case and email. It's been months waiting. Give me what I paid for and answer my email. My Paid To Date should match what I had in Health.com.au before your parent company closed it down and transferred me to Frank. Amazing, Affordable and great service

transferred from health.com to frank,joined online after a week i decided to cancel on the thirty day cooling off period because it did not suit me they still debited my bank and told me i would get a full refund! i got back about one third of the premium ! wont recommend them or refer them even though they offered me a better deal its all about money! i transferred to another fund keep away!! Show details

EMERGENCY HOSPITAL ADMISSION

My wife was admitted to a public hospital as a private patient for emergency observation.
When hospital reception swiped her Frank Health membership card, everything was taken care of; room, meals, treatment, doctor etc.
