Love my kitchen, terrible aftersales
I love our kitchen, rep was great and the organising went fairly well. When we needed some aftersales items, ie the bin or kickboards wasn’t installed so we needed someone to come back, now we want some cabinetry on the opposite wall - I have emailed on the portal for six months getting nowhere. Long forgotten now they have our tens of thousands of dollars. So frustrating and can’t go anywhere else as we need it to match.
Good customer service
Staff at Freedom Kitchen are very helpful. The designer is very professional. The tradesman is also helpful and thoughtful. I cannot wait for my kitchen to be installed and finished.
honest truth: do your research
Make sure you understand what they offer before you sign up.
I had my kitchen installed in Jan 2021, and due to some mistakes, freedom kitchen delivered more materials, after few month they finally resolved it. Thanks Anna for resolving my issue.
The things that is positive: good colours, good sales person, beautiful show room that get you hooked, you can get the look and feel of the final product.
The things that is negative:
1. pre-defined sizes - so that means there will be waste space at the corners, they say its custom build, but its bu...
I received a quote from Freedom Kitchens, actually I organized 3 quotes from 3 different kitchen places Freedom was my first... was very happy with the design, I was give a 25% discount voucher on cabinets, when I had initially gone into the Showroom, which I thought I would use if I decided to go ahead with Freedom.... But after the consultation was finished he wanted us to sign up straight away... and if I didn't I wasnt going to get the 25% discount.. apparently it was only valid if you signed on the night... Which was very disappointing.. ...I told the designer I wasn't ready to sign up with them as yet , and need to get another quote... his demeanor changed, and he started packing his bag.... I wasn't ready to decide straight away , I was spending 25-30 thousand dollars on a new kitchen , so I needed to be sure...So I guess what I am trying to say be upfront about discount Vouchers, the lady in the Showroom should have mentioned it when she gave it to us, and stipulated that it as only redeemable if you sign up on the day with the designer...... Yes it was written on the Voucher, in small writing....Anyway .... Clearly I didnt sign up with them .. went with another Kitchen Company...
What you see is not what you get
We decided on Freedom after fairly exhaustive searches to entirely replace our kitchen. The showroom displays where exactly what we were after.
The young man (Sean) who came to measure up was prompt andappeared knowledgeable . He gave his sales spiel and a rough quote once we had agreed on his computerised 3D printout.
What he did not tell us was that the bench tops and splash backs would be charged separately!!
We then had to pay a deposit on the initial cabinetry.....that in itself was drama #1...prospective clients have to receive a persona...
Design perfect-service not
The design of the kitchen was perfect, service was terrible, unfinished work, my husband had to finish some of the job as services will not send someone to do it.(part of marble bench by the window)
also after two years of renovations, we had issues with kitchen cabinet door, was not resolve, they were playing pass the parcel, until I went to the store and get this sorted, was after 5 weeks that they finally send some one to fixed.
I’ve had an ongoing contract with Freedom since Oct 2018 we initially were redoing our kitchen and then we moved house unexpectedly. The tram were great to continue a progress fee so once settled into our new house we could use the funds. However on a reduced design at the new property I leant cost for 6 x cupboards for Kay dry was close to 5k when I asked for a consumer cost breakdown they said they can’t provide one and that a job under 5k is not worth their time. I didn’t see minimum spend at all in the contract so very baffled! I’ll be checking with the ACC. Very blunt and still awaiting an update re providing a breakdown. Very disappointing.
Good kitchen, terrible follow up service
Our kitchen is good, in style and quality. We were also pleased with the design we, and the install. However, we needed a few extra things after the install and the follow up service (from Freedom's contractor) was truly terrible. Non-responsive, slow when then was a response, and then nothing unless badgered every day. Worst customer service I have ever experienced.
We had a kitchen installed May 2018 we were very happy with the kitchen and the installers
Not happy with the bench tops we chose the Black in colour flat finish tops these tops and I must add I am very particular the way I have treated the tops but never putty hot articles on them or scratching them clean them only with soapy water and they mark very easily I wish now I had of gone with stone as I have had this in the past , I am wanting to let people know they are not a good choice I have thought about ringing head office but from some of the remarks I’m not going to get any response.
Good result but bumpy process
We found the overall experience to be disjointed and it was often difficult to find the information we needed at various decision points. The Freedom team were very clear on when each deadline needed to be met, which helped keep things on track, but the communications we received through the online portal were blunt, incomplete in information and there wasn't a key contact that we could call upon for answering our questions. We even went in store to talk to somewhere there, but they didn't seem to be fully across the design options that were av...ailable for our kitchen. Our kitchen delivery arrived with no bench tops or appliances, which set back our installation and the trades we had lined up. While it was sorted in the end, the Freedom team didn't appear to have any idea where these items where for the first 24 hours. We were generally happy with the overall final fittings of the kitchen, but you get what you pay for. The bench tops and appliances are obviously budget. Our range hood was also installed at a lower than normal height, meaning that we often bump our head on it when using the stovetop. I certainly wouldn't be rushing back to Freedom Kitchens for another renovation, but would recommend it to someone who's after a budget job.
Overall good experience marred by item refund
We have had an overall good experience in getting our kitchen from Freedom. The fitout is quite good, with some exceptions such as the area the fridge goes in was 19cm wider that could have been used as cupboard space. Other than that we are pretty happy with the money we spent coming in only about $2000 over designers "estimate".
The whole experience has been marred for us as we returned a tape costing $700 for refund a week ago, Freedom have confirmed receipt of the tap and for some unknown reason haven't processed a refund despite several follow ups by myself.
$700 is a lot of money for some people (like me)
Price Higher Then Other Companies
Design consultant that came out was lovely, no problem at all with the service & I imagine quality of the cabinetry, but went with other company purely on price.
The difference meant, other items I could purchase for the kitchen!
Great looking kitchen.
The process of designing and planning the kitchen could not be easier. The designer was an absolute pleasure to deal with and helped us plan our perfect kitchen. We were given a complete rundown of costs, installation plans and dates. All dates and costs were exacrtly as agreed in the initial consultation with the designer.
The installer was very easy to deal with and assisted with removing the existing kitchen and installing the new one. However, some of the cabinetry doors were damaged upon delivery. This is where Freedoms processes fail. N...ew replacement doors were sent out 2 months later and one was the wrong door. It has now been 4 months since the kitchen was installed and we are still waiting for the correct replacement door to arrive. Apart from the poor follow-up, we do love our new kitchen.
The reviewer stated that an incentive was offered for this review
Great quality product. Just takes them about 5 attempts to deliver it. Sending the installer and my family close to a mass suicide .
The non existent ‘Customer Service ‘ only became frustrating when I still held out hope that my kitchen would be completed within my lifetime. The remainder of the time it was like dealing with a call center trained by Basil FaWelty and certainly makes for hilarious conversation with anyone who comments about the kitchen.
Shame guys, you have such a great product but seriously if my kitchen is any example of How...
Got mucked around with delivery, delaying us having to cancel our builder for installation, cabinets
Fantastic consultation and service to begin with. Our designer spent I think 5 hours helping us design our dream kitchen. He was very patient and helpful, full of ideas. Couldn't fault him. Thank you for that. The reason we gave 3 stars is our delivery got cancelled last minute meaning we had to cancel all our tradies for the installation, including installation for our bench and tiler. This was a massive set back as we had no kitchen for 5 weeks. We had to then wait for after the easter long weekend. The cabinets are ok. I would probably just ...get IKEA next time as they are literally the same except Freedom charge an absolute bomb. We initially got quoted $19k but managed to get it down to $11k which was alot better. $19k is ridiculous for a 1 bedroom apartment. That doesn't even include installation so we got our own guy. Another down side is they claim you have to sign on the spot, and cannot think about it which was ridiculous as its a big decision and a lot of money. Do not agree to the first quote they provide either in the consultation. I have no idea where they come up with those figures. Their online portal is great as you can track the progress of your kitchen.
Questions & Answers
Hi Freedom Kitchen,
can you please give me a PM regards my job? I'm not having a great experience thus far, and it is so difficult to call the office, no one answers.
Hi Andy. We are sorry you haven't been able to get through. We have sent you a private message to follow this up. Regards, Freedom Kitchens
Has anyone who has been unhappy with freedom kitchens ( They basically lied , left exposed untiled areas , charged us easily 5k extra.. the list goes on ) gone onto fair trading or taken them to court ?
I sincerely think they sell false dreams , their whole contract process is almost not legal( making people sign contracts before complete drawings / no cool down period )
Would there be anyone interested in joining me if I got legal help ?
Yes i also needed to bring in a plasterer to fill in the gaps.
Their nominated plumber was hopeless....the insinkerator was not securely attached and actually came off its bracket after 3 months leaving us obviously to clean the mess and get another plumber to reinstall.
Did you do anything about it ? I am going to go through Fair trading and then down the legal route .
Thank you for your feedback. We have been in touch with you to attempt to resolve the issues you have outlined. We have inspected the workmanship completed by your installer and we remain committed to assisting you with reaching a resolution between your installer and yourself. I will have a Case Manager make contact with you to see how we can help complete your kitchen. Kind regards, Freedom Kitchens.
Has anyone in south-east Melbourne had a Freedom kitchen done? Who was your installer and are you happy with the job? Also, would you mind sharing how much it cost?
we are in qld i dont think our installer will come that far but the people here are realy good we had no trouble with any off the tradies or the people in the office hopes this helps
We are in Carrum Downs, designed and put a deposit down for a kitchen before Covid started. Still haven't had a final site measurement so our cabinets won't have even been ordered yet. If I hadn't put a deposit down I would be going elsewhere. Their communication has been shocking.
Hi Taylah K. We've sent you a private message so we can assist. Regards, Freedom Kitchens
