Assembly headaches again - and lots of styrofoam
Another Freedom Signature Essentials piece of dining furniture, another headache for the assembly. In this case, one of the holes in the base frame was not completely punched through, so the screw to attach the frame to the unit could be not be threaded through. We basically had to use a hammer and metal punch to get the hole opened up fully. Again, this is just sloppy manufacturing combined with poor quality control - they could and should catch these defects before leaving the factory! The unit once assembled looks just fine.
One thing...to note ... from this unit alone, we ended up with 2 garbage bags full of broken up styrofoam ... which our council will not take as recycle we will spend weeks breaking up some styrofoam and fitting into our small non-recycle "red bins". Stores that sell this flatpack furniture should be forced to accept the styrofoam waste from their packaging back - maybe that would encourage more responsible packaging such as recyclable cardboard inserts instead of white styrofoam.
