Good
My Gaggia grinder has been a million times better than the experiences I have had with 2 different models of Gaggia coffee machines. The grind is consistent, although not having a huge range of grinds can be a little bit of a pain but it has lasted the test of 5 years and 3 house moves and still going strong. It gets used every day and has never broken down, although occasionally gets a bean stuck, but once dislodges works well again. It does seem to let ground coffee fly out of the container whilst you are grinding (through a very small gap) b...
Read moreut overall has been reliable. It is reasonably priced and not at all bad for this price range. Would I buy it again? possibly not... I would definitely get one that allows you to put the basket in to be filled up. But overall happy with it. This Gaggia grinder has outlasted the Gaggia coffee machine we bought at the same time! I've had it for 5 years and still going strong. Consistent grind, never broken down (unlike the Gaggia espresso machines..) Gets beans "stuck" every now and then... is also tiresome spooning the ground coffee out of the container all the time. Is quite noisy. Doesn't have a very big range of grinds.- 18 reviews

OK
I've had this grinder for about five years - it's a proper burr grinder, which can be adjusted to get the grind just right. I'm particularly happy with the quality of the grinds it produces. However, if you fill the hopper the outlet gets clogged and needs to be unclogged to finish the grind. You have to keep the outlet clean to prevent a blockage from building up. It's also difficult to keep the rest of the unit clean. I damaged the bin of my grinder so grinds escape from it when I'm grinding only adding to the mess (but that's my fault).
Great grinding but messy.
Adjustment allows for perfect grinding
Gets clogged, difficult to keep clean
Questions & Answers
How do you adjust the grind on this model? I have one and don't know where the adjustment is located. Thanks!
You twist the plastic, cylindrical opening into which you pour beans. If you look closely you'll see that grind settings are embossed in the plastic body where the cylinder enters the grinder.
HTH!
I have an Atomic and in order that the coffee was ground finely enough for that machine to froth the milk satisfactorily, I had to unscrew the bowl at the top (there is a screw in the centre at the bo...
Read morettom of the bowl) and turn that bowl a little tighter and replace the screw. This meant the coffee is ground very fine. If you try it, be sure you do not inhibit the grinding blade or you will burn out the machine. My experience is this has been working for me with no ill effects on the machine the whole time I have owned it. Hope this helps...Thanks, this was very helpful!
