Have used a number of the same model for years.. pluses and minuses.
Have found the tools to perform well and the batteries 20v. charge quickly and run for almost an hour. Minuses are chiefly to do with the spool which is extremely badly designed and hard to find correct size line.. No tool is provided to unlock the spool after useage run out for replacement. . This then necessitates jamming a screwdriver or similar under the spool to hold while anti clock twisting.. Broken or worn down tiny plastic locking flanges if you are not a bit handy with repair (I am a bit) can render the spools unusable. The bump butto...n end of spool can also wear down or shear off.. I mainly use mine for trimming front , small back lawn area and nature strip.. I have had 5 pack up completely even after nursing the spools with repair along for a bit longer.. The batteries appear infrequently ( particularly during covid) with the designs of same and charger bases changing over the years.. I have never attempted to pursue the guarantee with the manufacturer which looks onerous but currently am about to attempt as the latest insult of packaging purchase of new item with other unwanted items is frankly ridiculous.. I considet myself a fairly loyal customer but the ability to purchase spares and to deal with an inhouse guarantee and replacement policy has me now about to purchase a ryobi or Ozito model.. The batteries while still working will continue to be used with other tools in the range.. Would be interested to hear from the aldi/gardenline people on their policys and thinking re their future releases of these lines. Happy with my drill etc which also use the batteries..
Purchased for $100.00.
Not worth the aggravation
You get what you paid for; battery doesn't last; now the battery might make for 5 minutes and that is on a full charge... Absolutely hate it; would never purchased a Gardenline product again; no wonder this product is discontinue.. bought at Aldi.. Total waste of money and a waster of my time.
Gardenline 36v Grass Trimmer
I initially brought this with the intention to try and return, as I believed that it would not be any good. 18 months later I still have it, as its proven its worth when used on well kept lawns. I use it once a fortnight and its takes around 20 to 30 minutes to trim my whole lawn.
Oh so easy!
I hate doing edges and refused to use a noisy two stroke petrol trimmer--even if I could start it. Battery operated is the way to go. Press the trigger and you are away. So quiet, so easy to use and when you're finished just recharge it and its ready for next time. We have quite a few edges and the battery hasn't run flat yet. Had it running for about an hour. Quite light at 4.0kg. Easy for older person to manage. Plus 3 year warranty.
Not expensive $149, very quiet, long running time. no cords to pull, just press trigger

Questions & Answers
Where can I get replacement rechargeable batteries for 36V gardenline products?
From GK above. I have called the 1300 (No) 922 271 (no answer) on the battery, and checked with Aldi. Apparently they are not available any more. Mine still runs well, but now only works (20 minutes) on the third LED and is flat after that. So, I do the back, and recharge while I mow and then do the front.
