Short life, now unusable Garmin Approach X40

published

I have owned my Garmin Approach X40 from new and used it once or twice a week for less than 3 years. It is now useless. Despite following all the forum and Garmin suggestions, including factory resets, over the last twelve months it rarely locates a satellite and when it does, it frequently freezes. For the amount it cost, it should have a life expectancy beyond 3 years. Unfortunately, based on this frustrating experience I won't be purchasing from Garmin again.

Good but with flaws

published

A Christmas gift to assist with my golfing stats - this watch is very clever. It covers health stats as well as fitness and golf. Is intuituve when recording golf shots and putts. The GPS is fabulous and accurate on all golf courses and activities.
Am disappointed in the flaws in downloading new updates - often the golf courses disappear, as does all information. A factory reset seems to be the only way to get my Garmin working again. No valid help on forums or Garmin website.

Has anyone else had problems with their Garmin X40 Approach?
I am fed up with being on the course and having no connection to a satellite or the distance measures freezing. I have followed all suggested solutions from forums and Garmin, including factory resets, but it is no better.
I need a reliable golf tracker, but won't purchase another Garmin if the expected lifetime is less than 3 years.
