Secretary and proud
Great for you... but only if they CHOOSE you
I am prepared for an onslaught of positive reviews after this is posted as GBS appears to be part of a "club" of dutiful people who post positive reviews in retaliation to a negative review. The irony is, this agency has a culture of being highly selective in who they will take on their books. When you actually have the director raise his voice to you and shout "No one will ever give a shy mother a job", then you know they are an incredibly biased employment firm, not interested in people's skills, and for some reason overtly discriminatory against "mothers" and "shy people". Of course, offering to undertake computer skill tests at the interview and being told "Don't you want to go home to your kids instead" was a good way to verify the overt sexism and discrimination GBS holds.
Aside from the outdated culture and incredible lack of manners held by GBS, their knowledge appears to be lacking. A job of Patient Services Assistant was scrutinised rudely, and asked with a sneer if it was volunteer work. Firstly, there is nothing wrong with volunteer work. Secondly, there is nothing unusual about the paid position of PSA, and I would have expected an employment agent to be aware of jobs. Without job knowledge, how can they even purport to proffer the best people up for positions that arise?
Members of the "GBS club" that go on to write positive reviews - please be aware that you are helping to entrench sexism, discrimination and male bullying by doing so.
