always overcharging, and additional charges give international accounts to pay and make us pay the currency conversion fee as well. which is more than we borrowed.

The worst customer service

I have applied this card nearly one month ago until now I haven't got any response. Application process team is ridiculous.
The customer support team has no idea about what they are doing.

The worst customer service!
One has to be very careful with this company. Someone made a purchase using our account 2 yrs ago and we brought to light that this had occurred and they said they had removed the transaction
After two years the transaction is still on the account and they have just placed it as a non interest account but accept the principle to be paid. And when called after now they say they was no dispute log are you sure, do latitude give interest free purchase even for more then 2 yrs.
This company is stealing from its customers & client’s information isn’t secure too. Show details

Terrible idea

I thought was paying enough monthly to avoid interest charges but long story short some plans had expired, therefore I was charged interest on these plans - very confusing. Statements very obtuse. I have paid the amount in full and will no longer use Gem Visa Show details

Not worth it!

I’ve been with gemvisa for years and it is getting frustrating to use it. You pay $8.95 monthly fee and you still need to pay for a fee when making repayments. How dishusting is that! On top of that, when you make a payment online, it takes 3-5 business days to hit your account. With the fees that you pay, you expect that your payment gets cleared sooner than 5 business days. Terrible service

I applied for the credit card. They entered my date of birth wrong and it took them 2 months to fix it. I was on the phone waiting to speak to their supervisor but no luck and no one spoke English. If you tell them a month of your birthday for example November they have no idea if it is a number 11 or 10 … it’s a waste of time and energy Show details

Very poor communication, will result to stress and financial issues

I've had issues with Latitude service BPAY out payments since July. I got conflicting replies from agents. I was assured that all is good with my account and no BPAY payments will be processed. Suddenly saw multiple scheduled BPAY payments on my account which i requested over and over again to be deleted. I was promised it will be deleted but they were eventually processed. Then i was promised they will be reversed, then got a reply from GEM that the error cannot be rectified and I need to get the refund myself. Stay away from this company.

Terrible communication- slow response

Application process is slow and terrible communication. Keep sending you emails saying they have tried to contact you and to call them. No missed calls or contact from Latiutde at all. Applied just to establish a credit file- had cash to pay for Good Guys item. Don’t go through Latitude biggest pain in the butt. I’m full-time employed, with a good credit score and mortgage not worth the hassle- have had to call them x 5

Very Poor communication and dodgy practices

Had this card many years and only used to purchase a TV on interest free terms. They have now charged monthly account fees as well as locking me out of my account. They then removed the B-Pay option and did not inform me in which I have been charged late fees. Despite, sending several emails, I am still stuck in a dance with trying to close out this account and have any late fees raised. Show details

Perfect until you want to close it

Had this credit card for 8 years. Only ever used it once and when you log online everything is at your fingertips EXCEPT the place to close your account. After digging around I finally found it. Filled in the form, received an email back saying the account was closed and yet when I have inquired about a home loan later it flags as still being active months later! Had to go through the whole cancellation process again and am awaiting closure again.

Latitude Financial Gem very poor service

Firstly the transaction cost of making payments other than Direct Debit is prohibitive. I paid hundreds of dollars, at least two payments, in advance to ensure I would be still be covered if I accidentally missed a payment. I missed a payment. Guess what? They penalised me by reporting me as a missed payment in spite of being $s x100 ahead. This has adversely affected my credit rating. WTH! Their customer assistance department is only able to be contacted by phone......zzzzzzz waiting, waiting. Then I was promised the adverse report would be fixed. NOT DONE. I will NEVER, EVER use them again. Third time I have contacted them to no avail. I advise everyone to NOT use their cards or offers ever. Show details

Slowest service ever!!!

Slowest Service ever! I wanted pay the amount in full to close the account and I did. They charged 21.45% purchase rate to close the account. Tried to contact them to find what it is for and takes ages to reach them. This is one of the slowest service. It takes your half a day. Regret signing to this crappiest financial service. Its like one person is handling thousands calls sitting on customer service desk. Show details

Destroyed my perfect credit rating

Applied for a Gem Visa so I could take advantage of the long interest free periods offered by HN & JB - the process took over two weeks with any phone communication being extremely difficult to understand due to the language barrier. I was confident I'd be granted the card due to a high salary and PERFECT credit rating, everything seemed to be going smoothly until I was randomly decline right at the end. I'm fine with being declined, however I'm NOT HAPPY that my perfect credit has now been DESTROYED with Latitudes negative mark on it for the next 5 YEARS. Absolutely horrible company to deal with and now they've made it more difficult to seek credit anywhere in the future. Thanks guys! Show details

The worst. Don't bother calling either

Every action I have had from them has been rude and insulting. Despite the fact that every fiscal dealing from my end has been more than up to snuff. Will NEVER use them again. Call center is the very worst I've ever dealt with. Now they are intentionally blocking my account, making it impossible to make a payment so they can try to default me. BEWARE.

Awful customer service and inaccurate and unfair credit reporting

Lalit the supervisor was extremely unhelpful and frustrating to deal with. He insisted on a position where a missed payment was recorded on my credit file because it failed to reach their account in time because of a bank holiday. He would not consider the circumstances and agree to lift the missed payment report even though I have been paying consistently on the same day every month without an issue. I will be taking this further and seeking a review by the relevant regulator of these unfair practices Show details

I’ve had a Gem Visa for about 4 year & though Covid l reached out to them for hardship & it was the worse thing l have ever done…I’m not a smart women & for this reason my credit history is a mess.. I have tried talking to them & getting nowhere all they keep say is well you should have known better… if l knew better l would have never have got a Gem Visa please people ask a friend family anyone one else but this company for help l have 1 last payment to make & l will free of this card please don’t cause yourself any pain anxiety or stress the staff in the hardship team have no communication skills at all Show details

Terrible company & services!!
I got a gem visa end of 2020. I paid off feb 2021 as got a debt consolidation loan. Amount to cancel account was confirmed and paid and emailed through info and screenshot and account was going to be closed. Then last month (we’re talking a year later) I got a text to say I owed $20. Which I paid - ok accounts not been closed. There then saying I owe more money which I do not and they ring me 5+ times a day which is also harassment asking for this money. Dirt poor service Show details

Don’t go with this group. It’s far from easy

I used Gem finance attracted by their interest free 2 year term to buy a computer
I set up an automatic payment using all the details they provided. They have consistently not acknowledged my payments and I’m on my third call to them to sort waiting over an hour each time. They then send me late payment penalties and interest charges Trying to get information from them such as now you’ve finally found my payments how can I pay off balance and get rid of you- is extremely arduous Twice I’ve called and they found all my payment s only to send another late letter this month. It took 17 days for my application to even get a credit check, by then my preorder was already released

Won't bother, their customer service took 3 days to even reply to me and all they did was direct me somewhere else, I would honestly just avoid this company as their priority certainly isn't their customers.

Not well trained staff

I have used this card for few purchases & did set up a direct debit through my partner's account which was mentioned to them while setting up, they had no issues at that time and had few payments processed as well, I called them few payments later for some other query & in the conversation mentioned to the representative about the direct debit details. The representative & organization then realised the direct debit account account being on my partner's profile Which shouldn't be & cancelled it. Which was unprofessional & inconvenient.

DODGY SCAMMERS STAY AWAY

Try calling their call centre, you can never get hold of anyone. The message says to create a ticket online. Created a ticket online and the customer support person told me to call the call centre. Breached their agreement with the AFCA. Refused to remove a fraudulent charge on my card. Stay away you will get scammed. Beyond a joke! Show details

Watch out

Attempted to cancel my Gem visa credit card which I never used and was told that I did not have authority as I had the wrong date of birth. Which I had uploaded to them but still couldn’t cancel. Tried to complain on their complaints process it required me to go through every month I was alive, too submit. Made the complaint an hour later anyway, and then to Australian Financial Authority. Show details
