AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST or you will pay the price in more than one way.
3 visits and 5 months plus has gone buy without a correction to several issues in need of correction with our doors. GEM blame the manufacturer but I think GEM are just as bad as the manufacturer. The threat of going to Dept of Fair Trading doesn't ever phase GEM Windows and Doors and after further online review checks, I known why, they must be one of the worst company's in Sydney / Australia for product quality and customer service.
Avoid, Avoid, Avoid them at all cost.

Product faulty, worst service ever experienced
Product had manufacturing defects and specifications also different from show room product.
Over three months have been trying to resolve this.
Gem has been giving us the run around the whole time. It appears by using this delaying tactic will lead us to give up out of frustration.
They are wrong, the matter is now with the Dept Fair Trade.
Don’t put yourself through the problems and issues we have faced, DO NOT USE GEM.
I quite liked the process of ordering from these guys. I can't say it was the best service I've ever had but that by no means makes it bad. That being said, installation was a little hard but me and a buddy managed to get it done. I'm in Melbourne now so I used these guys for a similar installation: [weblink removed]. All in all I'm happy with my aluminium doors, I mean I kept them around after a shift so I guess that much is obvious. While a bit pricey, I reckon I'm happier paying extra for something like this because it implies a certain level of quality.
I wish I had gone somewhere else!
Not a pleasing experience at all! I ordered a Back Sliding door, paid up front in December and following many phone calls arrived late February and at an additional Cost of $330.00. The door was marked and damaged missing pieces and failed to close and overall extremely poor quality and this again was chased by myself and the builder. It took three weeks to get a "technician" from Southern Doors the company who make the frames in Sydney and Glazing in Melbourne and then delivered by GEM Doors. Still awaiting a response and it seems that no one is able to make a decision at GEM doors. It seems my only option is now NSW Fair trading I just expected what I paid for. I would strongly advise to avoid!!!!!
Ripped off*crap windows
Sales will rope you in, great prices promised. When you finally receive your windows 3 months late you will find damaged terrible quality windows. Gem give the impression they are a huge company but they have one person in every showroom. When you try and resolve problems they don’t want to know. You’ve paid in full and have no bargaining tool. They don’t manufacture the windows, only fly screens. They don’t tell you this! Items lost, another 3 weeks to find and another 2 weeks to just deliver. We are thousands out of pocket and builders are sc...ratching their heads at how this company is still going with their cheap defective quality. Gem made so many mistakes but refuse any liability. If only we read these reviews prior to our nightmare of dealing with utter rudeness and incompetence. Lots of fine print that you sign at order phase that gives you no rights. So glad I’ve already steered 3 people away from having to go through the same nightmare. Gem are only sales and use the company that’s on their website to manufacture your windows and who have reviews just as bad. Rot in hell to the rude owner who thinks she’s above the law. Karmas coming your way! September 12th 2018 Update: Should be closed down! After a list of faults and defects as long as my two arms we are still waiting for Windows after 1 year! Yes after having them delivered 3 times and to be wrong all times! If anyone would like to contact me I am currently in the process of having A Current Affair involved to expose these scammers.
Warning - Do Not Use
I have been in the industry for over 4 years, and this is by far the worst company I have ever dealt with.
Their drivers damaged my windows during delivery/unloading.
I have been requesting them to fix the issue for 3 weeks, with NO RESPONSE.
Management are unreachable - there is no number you can call. - all you can do is send endless emails which get no response.
I will be contacting the relevant industry bodies and lodging a formal complaint.
Save yourself a lot of anger, do not use these scammers.
Absolute worst company - do not use
I wish I had read the below reviews first. Where do I start, the 6 week delivery turned out to be 4 months. The windows and doors do not fit the frame, there are screws hanging out of them. The glass is scratched and so is the frame. Sliding doors do not close. So flimsy and cheap. Worst Customer service and worst quality I have seen in 20 years of renovating homes. I encourage all the previous reviewers to contact Consumer Affairs Fair Trading and lodge a complaint. You can tell how bad they are when they don't even bother trying to wr...ite a response to all these negative reviews. June 30th 2018 Update: Very Disappointed I ordered a window and sliding door and would never use this company again. The quality is very poor both items had problems and are very flimsy. They wanted payment up front and took 4 months to install both faulty products. Trying to get them to fix them was hard work and it wasn’t until Department of Fair Trading got involved that they were able to be fixed, still not right as the door is the wrong size to what we ordered they just moved the handle so we can close it. Cheaply made and I can’t see it lasting. I don’t like to leave negative reviews but I wish I had read some reviews beforehand.
