When I purchased the camper I had a few issues. Thought it was hard to get the dealt with until I found Phil. He took over and made sure all issues were resolved in a timely manner. Took the camper for a long drive from Sydney to Surfers. Towed beautifully. I got to say I was surprised. The car used hardly any extra fuel and the trailer was smooth to tow. Only silly me needing to break hard because I did not see the round about and the breaks with the tow pro worked wonders. Took me less time the second time to pit it up. Hubby told me took me ...longer to put up the camper shelves I bought than the camper it’s self lol. I did it mostly my self as hubby is recovering from major surgery. If you consider the camper trailer make sure your fit enough to put it up and down. Rows great and Phil in Sydney is the man to see.

I have used the Patron now a few times and the more I use it the more its gets better as im slowly sorting out a few small issues with the trailer. We had a couple of issues with a few things not working properly straight out of the box but no big issues and the boys back at head quarters had no issue in sending out the parts required straight away while I was away. eg. stay leg never worked on one side. not a huge problem.Great service will alway bring me back to a company. I have toed the trailer only about 3000 km but im very impressed with ...the independent suspension, it toes like a dream. I have not yet taken into the rough stuff yet but reckon it will eat it up with what iv seen so far. My biggest issue to date was trying to run an 80 litre fridge. The wiring to the fridge is to small and kept blowing the fuse so instead of trying to rewire the fridge wiring i have down sided to a 60 litre which seems to be working fine. I have only put the fridge on for a few days so far. Without going into to much detail about the pros and cons I would say im overly happy with the trailer and performance and friendly service. Lets just say when I set up somewhere most people want to come check it out as it looks great. Double thumbs ups from me.

Dominator dominated the tracks
Hi we purchased our Dominator in July 2016 and since then we have to towed it along the great ocean road during large storm and heavy rain with no issues, recently we towed our trailer to Cape York and along the OTT, it handled the track well and took everything we through at it, dirt and water ingress was nil. Very easy to set up and down. We had one issue with the batteries not holding charge in Mt ISA but one call to GIC and it was recified, well done GIC.
The only issue I have with the trailer is:
1. The number one poles for the annex I ...

I have the Sargent camper I find it suits my needs as I love the out door kitchen under awning I think an in house demo of how to set up the camper would help a lot of buyers as first time is difficult but by the third set up you are glad you bought it.

As children my husband and I loved to camp, as parents we are now re-living our childhood with our children and our much loved and valued Dominator. Our first trip was fantastic, a home away from home. Tows well, sets up well, great storage space, spacious inside, attracted a lot of interest from other campers in the NT (shame there isn't a dealer up here). We have already planned our next 3 trips for this year and a mid year red centre trip for next. Customer service has been fantastic - great people both in QLD and NSW. Diamond is worth ...he's weight in GOLD! He attended and assisted with all queries before and after purchase. I suppose the one criticism (if you can call it that) - its a shame that the trailers can't be manufactured in Australia for the same price. Thank you Happy trails to you all

We purchased this camper after seeing a friends one and being impressed with the overall quality and finish of the trailer. Easy and quick set up for overnight stops and great big fridge drawer.
Great lay out as our 2 kids can sleep on table area and we don't have to bring stretcher beds etc.
Alex in Sydney was great to deal with and help arrange freight etc and lead time was only a week or two.
Only improvement would be a set up video, apart from that great product!

We purchased our dominator in may 2016. Delivered quickly in June 2016 and was able to take it away for june long weekend trip. We love this trailer and the service we get from the Sydney guys if we have questions or warranty queries. We have had no issues with our trailer but have upgraded the jockey wheel, wiring for the fridge as we have a cfx95 which is a large one. Purchase was simple and finance easy. Highly recommended value for money.

Purchased an extreme commando in march 2016. The initial communication left a little to be desired however we got there in the end! The trailer has been great with only a minor handbrake lever issue being rectified quickly with an upgraded part. Probably the best bang for buck trailer on the market. Would definitely consider another GIC product when i upgrade in the future.

The good and bad of Extreme Commando
Received my extreme commando trailer in SA last Monday. Chassis and trailer look well built and solid. The canvas on the tent looks to be very heavy duty. I haven't used the trailer off road yet but in the 50km from the transport depot to where i live resulted in the hubs getting very hot due to brakes not adjusted properly and rubbing. One of the fly screens on the tent had a decent hole and one of the toolbox doors kept falling open while locked. Have contacted GIC weeks ago and haven't heard back. Customer service was ordinary throughout th...e whole process although i did manage to get hold of a couple of helpful staff. Felt like i was kept in the dark a bit especially as i was buying without seeing it. Couldn't even tell me the trailer had left the yard so i could arrange time off work to pick it up. Latches that hold the gas bottles and Jerry cans are ordinary and will be changed. About to go on a 3 week trip with lots of offroad. Hopefully she is as tough as GIC say it is. All in all , seems good value for the price tag. A few tweeks, some better attention to detail, and better customer service would go a long way especially for people buying the trailer blind from interstate. Hopefully my choice of GIC over MDC etc will pay off. Will update review after this trip away. Thanks.
The camper trailer that's been to hell and survived
I have dragged this poor thing thru some of the nastiest places in oz. It has never leaked even in torrential downpoors and howling winds. The only time it got wet inside was when I got caught in a mini cyclone but even then I jus bailed out the water got the broken limbs of the tent an got on with camping. For a so called cheap camper the only thing I've fixed is to bolt the sink on & put 2 new tap's. I have seen dearer campers with more problem's & I guarantee not many of them would still be in as good a condition as mine after the 5 years of hell I've put it thru and probably another ten to come Thanks' GIC for making a cheap tough camper.
I have just bought the light off road black series with the options pack, I found it easy to tow and reverse , easy to set up and has loads of storage space. Service was hassle free and trailer and tent are great quality. Thanks GIC for a great product, we love it.
Great tent, great options, great price
So many negative reviews. I have a 18 foot gic on my own trailer with my own kitchen and electrics, etc.
I got the whole top through my work from an insurance claim and it had a few bent poles, so gic sent a whole new top. Complete with tent, annex, walls, floor poles, etc. and the old one had the same.
I am a trimmer by trade, and the quality of the canvas is great, keeping on mind that the more heavy duty the canvas the more weighty it is. Mine doesn't leak, and we have had it in some good storms. Can't fault the whole setup, I haven't ...even fixed the bent poles it came with. The only thing I would do different if I was to buy new would be to buy the 12 foot instead. As good as the 18 foot is, its too big to setup for an over nighter when all you want to do is pull up, set up, cook up, go to bed, wake up, pack up and hit the road. As for the people that say they had bent poles in the wind, I believe that comes down to poor set up, not fixed down properly/tight enough, etc. you have to set up to the conditions, I very rarely put a rope up, just 4 pegs in each floor in the corners.
Camper review: We have a semi-off-road trailer with the 18ft tent. Initially bought this with a growing family in mind and now with two boys under 3 we are loving all the space! Quick to setup and my husband can pull it down with minimal help while I look after the boys.
We purchased our camper from Revesby after several visits to double check every feature. The staff were always friendly and knowledgeable without being pushy. Even on our fifth visit!
Four years later the service is still great with information and advice always given with ...
We purchased the extreme off road which had to come by transport from Sydney we found GIC to be very helpful. They emailed me back in response to any questions I had and when I rang them to see how trailer was going were again very helpful. Trailer arrived no worries with only one scratch which I fixed straight away. So far so good and as stated by a few others on this site it's not a high end camper but for the money it has everything we need. Everything opens and closes and the finish is good.
Value for money camper
good value basic camper
just came back from our first trip with our off road model camper. a very basic model, but did everything we needed. very easy to tow and to customise, added lights and a few other things, but for what you pay is a solid camper compared to a few of the equally priced imports. only downside would be the thin paint, and a few things that could've made the experience better, such as the tow hitch they sent down from Brisbane was left loose in the tool box and dinted it all quite badly, and the rail on the back door wasn't painted on the back. also...the depot where I had to pick it up from was poorly marked and the bloke had very little idea of what was going on. but overall very happy. tows well, value for money, thin paint, basic small things/ attention to detail skipped
Value for money
I have just recently purchased a semi off road 2012 with heaps of extras thrown in for free. Drove from Melbourne to Sydney to collect it, towed great. sure found a few problems which I rectified. Being a tradie, I reckon for the price they are pretty good. What do people want? A Merc for a Holden price?

More QC would be good.
Questions & Answers
We recently purchased a new 2019 "demo" Sergeant. We were wondering what size propane bottles fit in the factory racks? The website says an 8.8lb bottle, but we could not find such a thing anywhere online. Is is just a standard 20lb tank? Thank you in advance.
In the sergeant you can fit 4.5kg gas bottle holders.
The water tank is 80Litres
Does anybody have a problem with the starter on the 3 burner stove
What are the fridge dimensions that will fit the Classic Fold camper trailer? Lots here about the Dominator but not much about its smaller version. Keen to know fridge/freezer size.
