On the 20th May 2016, we brought a black series commando trailer. After looking for months we through we found the right trailer. We drove 12hours to pick the trailer up which was in Brisbane. On arrival of picking the trailer up we notice the cover on out trailer was damaged and had holes in it, so we phone straight away to be told that we would have a cover posted to us ASAP. 3 weeks later and we are still waiting so we phoned to only be told they had no record of us phoning about it. So today is the 18th July and we having been still waiting...to be told that someone named [name removed] will stay in contact with us, haven't heard a thing and it's been three month. We are also having a problem with our front storage box on the front which is filling full of water when it's rains, we phoned to be told to put a warranty claim on and send phone which we did. We received a phone call to say they have no approved dealers in our area and to bring back to Brisbane, which mind you is 12hours away. Since owing our trailer we have had nothing but problems with it and we are fed up with it. Something better we done soon or I will take it further and seek legal advice.

Stuff forgotten and broken!!
I have had my gic black series extreme commando for about 3 weeks now! Because I got the demo model I didn't get any warranty which I was fine with thinking, they wouldn't sell me it with something broken! I got it home set it up and it was missing the owning and the outside floor! Which they rectified and gave them to me! But then I went to use the tap in the sink and the pipe snapped off the tap, so I went and bought and new tap! Now 3 days before I'm ment to go away, I fill up the water tank(which is extremely hard because the hole is so sma...ll) and I test the side tap! No water comes out look down this tap is broken too! So now I'm having to buy another tap! And frankly then reason I didn't go and get them from gic is because the plastic is rubbish and will most likely break again! So I'm off the BCF to pay another. $50 for a tap! Would not recommend!!

Waste of money
Poor workmanship all over, needed new wiringloom, zippers, wheel hubs out of alignment and gic want nothing to do with us
We are staying at Nambucca heads and it is raining it leaks so bad. My oztrail tent held up better. What a waste of $5200.00
headache and haven't even got it yet...
Ordered our trailer and told it would be ready on the 8th Dec. We called a few days prior to see what was happening to be told the tent hadn't arrived from overseas yet and they had no idea when it would arrive. Thankfully it arrived a few days later, we hot the vin number so we could book it in with vic roads for rego to be told by vic roads that vin number was already registered on a trailer. We had to chase gic up constantly about the tent and vin number, no one returned our calls or kept us informed. We were told our trailer would be picked up by a courier 7 days ago, now apparently the courier won't go collect it..
Now driving from Melbourne to Sydney 2 days before our camping holiday for Xmas to pick it up.
New 12ft was Damaged
We collected our 12ft camper on Firday. Set it up on Sunday to mist down. We spotted 3 small holes and a window zip beside holes dose not work.. Very very disappointed as you can imagine..
I asked for it to be replaced but was told GIC will get it repaired. I'm not happy to have a new tent that needs repairing.. Its a damaged product.
Waiting on a call back about a repair date.
Watch this space as we'll see what the after sale service is..
Doors don't line up, water tank leaks, clips to close camper up broke after 2 uses, kitchen door doesn't stay in it to came out while driving is now completely buckled. company does not care, not interested in our problems
Don't go near this company
After 12 months of dealing with GIC and one replacement trailer we were forced to use the Local Court to get a refund which GIC refused.
Both trailers had significant faults with the welds, only one coat of paint or in some areas none at all, faulty wiring, unroadworthy suspension, damage to drawbar, holes in tent, missing items, dents and scratches to kitchen, incorrect toolbox supplied, holes in tarp cover and more.
After several tribunal appearances where GIC did not attend we were forced to the courts to get a refund.
Once they have yo...
Ordered a new one in 2010.
Kitchen held on by pop rivets.
Bald tyres, even though I paid the extra for brand new tyres.
Tail gate wasn't square.
Shocks mounted almost horizontal. 16mm bush with a 13mm bolt.
I could go on and on. I even posted my stories with supporting photos on 2 popular forums. Even with photos, I was still called a liar.
The entire camper was rubbish. The man at the RTA was hesitant to sign the rego papers. ...GIC wear the "Made in Aust" sticker as a badge of honour. They are mass produced. Look else where. When I sold it Everything
Tent is below standard
When we bought our camper we were really looking forward to the ease and convenience of it. We were very sorry when we got it, the twelve foot tent is not as easy to put up as we thought it would be. We had put it up twice when we found that the corners had pulled out (we had been setting up a canvas cabin tent for years, so we know not to over extend it), when we called the company to ask about getting it fixed the abused us and told us it was our fault and would not fix it. The brakes would not work, when my husband had a look it had been wir...ed up wrong, (more abuse over this). My husband has a bad hip and i have a bad arm so we thought it would be easy to set up, wrong again, it was a pain nothing would sit right and it was hard to pull out unless you left a door or window open to stop the suction. The trailer is basically fine however to get to the spare wheel you have to undo the bolts on top and it is too close to the rock guard on the front, the locks on the storage box are hard to open, the water tank had no breather hole so when you filled it it spat it back at you all the time. The tank is not as big as it was supposed to be. We did not even gt the bike rack that was supposed to come with it. The zipper on the cover was very stiff and used to catch all the time, it also frayed at the end so it was hard to put together to do up. One of the stabilizer legs broke, the locks on the draws are sticky and hard to open, the screen on the door has holes around the edge from where it pulls when you open and close it, if it is not exact it is very hard to open the door, the window Velcro does not match up when you close them. The supports under the bed have all bent and we are not huge people. My husband is a qualified mechanic and is able to do anything he puts his mind to and we have been lucky that he has been able to make some modifications to make things easier and work properly, but we still have a lot to do to it because the tent is falling apart. NOT HAPPY WITH THE WORKMANSHIP ON THE TENT AT ALL. Also the cover leaks water and the trailer leaks dust. The trailer is the only part that has stood up to our expectation apart from a couple of minor things poor workmanship, warranty does not seem to exist, tent is poorly put together, nothing is reinforced on the tent.
I used to own a GIC over three years ago
I used to own a GIC over three years ago. Thankfully I managed to get rid of it without losing too much money. GIC were great to deal with up until when I went to pick up the trailer. It wasn't ready and I had to wait over an hour for it to be finished, no one willing to run through how to setup the camper. Got it home, opened it up with mould inside the canvas and corrosion on the poles. Warranty and after sales service was zero out of ten. The tent used lo let in water when it rained and dust on dirt roads.
Poor workmanship. Electric...
No warranty, liars and bullies after sale service
First time our 18ft camper was set up for camping, beaching mid north coast... Wind ripped our tent and bent awning poles. Gic asked us to send email with story and pics to which they replied by email to ring them as they had been trying to phone us. We missed one call (all phones have callerID) and email sent secs later, we were told to ask for one person in particular who we now call 'the heavy' as he started to hurl abuse down the line as soon as we identified ourselves, so loud at times he could not be heard correctly, we were threatened wi...th "being personally billed for each minute if we contacted consumer affairs. Quite scary considering this person has access to our address details. Anyway, we contacted CA, who did attempt calling gic who told them complete lies of resolution and they could no longer assist!! My advice, read these reviews and go somewhere else for ur camper all we asked for was 6 poles to be replaced and some stitching along one ripped seam sewn if the awning could not be replaced. The salesmen are gentlemen prior to leaving with ur collected trailor - pray for perfect weather where ever u go - cos u won't wish to deal with gic after sales
We bought our Gic camper in 2009, it was the cheapest quality and the heaviest to put up, it pooled with water and leaked badly, ended up taking tent off and using as trailer. We hosed the tent about four times when we bought it home, but it still pooled badly, not fun.
Rubbish! Don't Buy One!
I'm not at all surprised when I read the other posts. I purchased mine in 2011 for our 'trip of a lifetime' and I was hoping the quality and service might have improved since then. Evidently not. We were more or less novices when we brought or unit and fell for the claims made by the sales guy. When we had many problems with it, they turned on us, rude attitudes and refusal to fix some of the problems. They eventually fixed some of the issues when threatened with litigation. I can't believe that well known figures in the 4x4 and camping industr...y would endorse this rubbish, they must be getting great money to sell their opinions. Note: We bought a so-called full off road model. Nothing Problems after the first four weeks of use: off road coupling cracked and fatigued, gas bottle holder broke and gas bottle fell off in transit, my wife cut herself quite badly on the kitchen, paint cracked and chipped off and surface rust formed, the bed ladder wore a hole in the PVC floor, tent leaked significantly (yes we did proof it properly), tent zipper broke. The list goes on!

Anyone know where I can purchase a new canopy/tent to the 2017 model GCI alpha black series?
Our tent is in very poor condition with the windows over the bed falling apart as well as all the straps disintegrating.
We recently purchased a new 2019 "demo" Sergeant. We were wondering what size propane bottles fit in the factory racks? The website says an 8.8lb bottle, but we could not find such a thing anywhere online. Is is just a standard 20lb tank? Thank you in advance.
In the sergeant you can fit 4.5kg gas bottle holders.
The water tank is 80Litres
Does anybody have a problem with the starter on the 3 burner stove
