Not At Fault Claim, Can't hire a car which is the same make and model to yours
Not at fault claim, waited for nearly 3 months to have it repaired. We were not allowed to hire the car that we used to drive, but hire what's allocated to us because the claim department could not justify spending up to $100 per day to hire a car for us, even though that was stated in our Platinum Comprehensive policy. Not recommended at all.
Avoid this company
Just because you're paying for the highest cover, doesn't mean they actually cover everything. Were happy to sign us up and take our money but couldn't care less about the situation they left us in.
Increase Excess without warning and no assistance during COVID-19
Recently we lodged in a business claim for a car accident. We were surprised to find that our excess had risen from $500 to $1000 without us being informed! We rang GIO to ask if there was any financial assistance for businesses that had been affected by COVID. They sent us an application form that was equivalent to a home loan document in terms of information requirements. It would have taken us over 5 hours to compile all this information just to ask them to waiver $500 off our excess. A definite deterrent strategy used by GIO, make it hard ...as possible so that customers don't pursue their claims further. Very disappointed considering that their official advertising tag line is " SUPPORTING OUR GIO CUSTOMERS We are committed to responding to the challenges during COVID-19.
If i had an option to put Zero. I will give that.
After being with GIO for 7 plus years have 2x platinum Comprehensive insurance policy plus home insurance roadside assistance pluse 2 of my cars green slip. I canceled everything yesterday. Took 4 months for them to write off my car and still i'm waiting for my car. Becuse Gio is only worried about the Fleet person who they deal with in the dealership than ther 7 year of loyal customer. And i asked them i would like to cancel all my policys no question asked they canceled every single policy. This is what customer service is. They don't even ca...r about there Customers. Only worried about new policy. As long as you dont have any claim everything goes smoothly. I feel very bad after being so long with this guys. They didn't stand with me to support me they stand with the dealership where they are going to get the car from and now i have to wait for another 2 weeks to get my car. Which is registered under my name yesterday.
