The quality is poor and they don't last
Three years ago I bought a replica of the famous Eames leather Armchair and Ottoman. The only positive thing I can say is that it has been a comfortable chair. After about 12 months the buttons started losing their colour. On closer examination the thin layer of black colour in the leather had worn off. They fell off a few months later. Now the arms and seat are showing the same loss of colour as the outer layer of leather is worn away - same with the Ottoman. So after 3 years it is shabby and only fit for the tip. I couldn't offer it to a ch...arity. However you get what you pay for.So don't be fooled into buying a cheap replica from this Company because if it only lasts for 3 years it's not cheap at all.. I love this design so much that I have now saved up the money to buy the real thing from Living Edge. These chairs become heirlooms and I expect it will still be looking good in another 30 years.
Questions & Answers
Hi Rosie. Did you end up buying a lounge from Glicks and if so are you happy with it?
Yes, we did buy the lounge from Glicks. We have had it for a while now and it has not lost its shape in any way. We have 2 kids (primary school), and it is holding up well. We have given it a clean with the Leather care a couple of times and that brings it right back to almost new. I think i would consider buying from them again.
What is the quality like of lounges from Glicks?
We have found the lounge that we received from Glicks to be very good in quality. It's a very sturdy well built lounge. We are very happy with it. I would certainly not call this a budget lounge if you were looking at the quality alone. We have had it for quite some time now and it has not lost its form or shape at all. I would recommend buying from Glicks
