No phone contact

Prices increased by 35% in January.
They cannot be contacted via phone unless it is an emergency. There is literally no option on the phone line to speak to a person outside of an emergency situation. I tried calling during regular business hours. The website urges you to email them (and wait how long?) or use the web chat.. which told me to email them.

Glo bird gave us a great plan 100% cheaper than our previous electricity supplier. Didn’t realise how much we were getting ripped off by SIMPLY ENERGY until we got a quote of Glo bird. Chris at the customer service team was awesome set us up on our new plan and understood everything we wanted, even preemptive suggestions for our billing requirements. Overseas call centres can’t offer this service when they can’t even be understood because of language barriers and poor understanding of your questions. Happy with GloBird Energy Service

I contacted my Gas energy supplier to refresh the energy usage readings, as the estimates needed correction. GloBird have a simple method for doing this, and I got the job done without fuss.
There was a hitch with the android app's ability to upload from my gallery pics, so I emailed it instead. I have contacted Glo about this app glitch.
Have been happy with GloBird now for 9 months, and will continue with them. Show details

I get that rates go up, but a >50% increase, come on. Plus new customers are offered a lower rate. So the idea is to attract new customers at the cost of losing existing customers. Awesome. Show details

Billing system is a nightmare

Monthly billing based on estimated reads. Even when they get the actual read, because their billing cycle falls on a specific day, the actual read is not used and they still go with an estimate. I have to submit a photo of the gas meter every time I get a bill to get it reissued. I am seriously considering switching despite having been with them for just a few months. Show details
