Will never build in WA again
My partner signed her contract 3 years ago with go homes. We asked about delays and they said there would be none. It has been 3 years. 3 years and still not at lockup yet.I have currently built 4 houses in Port Macquarie NSW in the past 3 years which are all rented out, and hers still isnt even at lockup.
It has been so long that her original choices for benchtops and other chosen items have been discontinued.
Imagine paying a mortgage on building/construction rates for something that has taken 3 years to build and can't be rented out.
This mob is a joke. Getting in contact is hard enough as it is with no explanation or ownership of why the builds taken so long.
Save yourself heartbreak and stress- don't build with Go Homes. Show details
House condition after only 3.5 years
It's been 3.5 years since my house was completed with Go Homes and I've had:- burst pipes and water leaking from the roof into the meter box
- water leaking into the pantry
- grout issue in the bathroom
Regretting building with Go Homes now as its apparent the quality of the build is not good and does not last long. Show details
Depressed
We have signed contract in December 2020 and that time they assured us 14 months build time before we signed the contract and now only completed brickwork so far. Nearly going to be three years on and we are paying rent, mortgage and bills for two properties one that renting and so frustrated. Only answer from BGC is waiting for trade. How long ???? Show detailsWhen are my tradies turning up ???
For some reason GoHomes cannot tell me this ??? I was told in late October my tiler was on the way. Now I am told that he is running late and no idea when he will be there. My render which was supposed to be done over 2 months ago - same story and he will be there "in due course". How can you run a building company with no idea when your trades are going to turn up ????I have been waiting over 2 years now and running out of time, patience and money. My build number is 1052127 and this has become my only resort for a response.
Thank you Show details
Much delayed construction
The sales order for the construction was signed in Jan 2021. Late pre-construction start - Site work started in Aug 2022. Then, 10 months wait for BGC to assign bricklayer. Bricklaying completed in Jul 2022. Then 1-2 months to wait for timber, then latest 1-2 months wait for roof carpenter. Bad planning and project management. Interest rate is raising everyday. Penalty fee kicks in from lender when construction period exceeds 1 year. Admin team told me may take another 1 year to complete build. This is totally unacceptable Show detailsVery Upset - Poor (NO) Communication, No Interest or Care
My original consultant was fantastic. He was responsive, helpful, and bent over backwards to help me to design the house I wanted. Pre-start is where everything went downhill. It took several months to get my pre-start appointment, and even then, the communication was terrible. It was months to get quotes back, or an answer to questions. Over 6 months AFTER my pre-start meeting, my build moved into 'construction'.I was assured that materials and bricklayers would be available by the time my pad was laid. I understand that there are issue... Read more
s, and accept that that is part of the building process, but what makes this worse, is that I had to chase my consultant to find out what was happening every 4 weeks as no updates were provided. I wasn't even notified as to when my pad was being laid (an exciting step that I would have like to be there for!). I have since been asking for updates since my pad was laid at the end of August (10 weeks ago), and all I've been told is that my 'construction rep' cannot give me any information. Having emailed through the portal help desk this time, I have now been told that it is 6+ months before a bricklayer will be assigned to my build. I'm am extremely upset - This isn't something that JUST happened - you can't tell me that you didn't know this when my pad was laid. Communication is SHOCKING. Had I been advised about this months ago - I would not be as angry and disappointed as I am. COMMUNICATION IS EVERYTHING! COME ON PEOPLE!They are ruining lives
We started the process in September 2021, our sales consultant was good. It went downhill from there.Pre start was delayed. Consultant didnt reply to emails, wehn she did she left items off which had to be followed up taking even more time. Eventually pre start consultant resigned. So this was blamed on the lengthy delays in pre start. However surely someone was holding her accountable for completing her work.
Slab went down 5 months ago - which was 6 months after pre start then nothing
I recieved a voucher offering $1000 off pre start, then ... Read morewas told it was a mistake I didnt qualify. Multiple excuses for extensive delays around covid shortage of tradies etc, however all houses in our area not being built by Go Homes are being completed on time. This is costing us ALOT with interest rates going up every month and high rent on top. We have been promised bricks being started this month but even then each stage of the process is likely to have similar delays - we watch a go homes house in our area and it has been at a standstill for months. Seriously concerned about what this is going to do to us financially
Greed over Productivity
At the start of the construction stage was emailed BGC owners of Go Homes there was going to be a Cap on homes built forecasting boom pressures, Now we have been waiting 3 to 6 months for every stage of the home build . Haven’t raised cost to keep tradies so called biggest builder in WA , blame it on supply’s and tradies issues . Don’t build with them better of with smaller reliable customer caring companies, they are good at the start then as soon as you sign it’s down hill from there . I don't like to do reviews but apparently, there is a chance of winning some of the money that Go Homes added to my contract 12 months after signing contracts, so here goes...I must say the sales consultant was very good. I started the process in June 2020, the price of the house was competitive and everything progressed well through the admin stages. The construction started and then stopped for months. It is January 2021 and friends who started their building journey, with other builders well after I did, are now moving into their homes wh... Read more
ile I have been hit with a notice of extension to time of completion to February 2023. Furthermore, the contract price was increased 12 months after contracts and even though I can't afford the increase, I am too far in and have no choice but to pay. Apparently, this has happened to a lot of Go Homes customers. I don't know if the extra money that the company will make by increasing prices is worth the negative sentiment felt by customers or the subsequent recommendations that they might make to friends, family, acquaintances, business partners, church members, international communities etc that the customers might belong to later when the building industry cools down. I have built a couple of homes in my time but none has taken more than a year in construction, this one might take twice as long, and none had price increases after contract signing when you are locked in and have no choices. But anyway, we are living in interesting times. So, I hope I win something for this review because I certainly cannot afford the price increase or the extended stay with friends where my family is currently boarding.Stay away they will destroy your life
We signed with one of BGC Companies over 2 years ago they said it's 8-10 months from slab down to handover. We had all problems with this Builder including constant delays, price rise etc. we are now 27 months since sign up and 18 months since slab down and House is finally locked since June and still delays and poor service they doing no works for weeks and sometime 1-2 days of work in a month. They are pushing all their clients very hard to go broke. We will advise everyone to stay far away from BGC companies there are lots of other good Builders to go with. We signed in mid June 2020 and Sales rep told us 8-10 months we will have house ready. In start we were told it's busy due to COVID and shortage of staff and Construction phase will be smooth but it was a complete lie as soon as we got slab down communication disappeared we had to chase them to get that any update which was most of the time just wait, wait and wait. We nominated own Bricklayer in return they delayed our Build and send us price rise plus we paid Bricklayer out of pocket as they pay less than the market rates as a First home Buye... Read morer we were not aware of all of this now it's been over 24 months since this all started and House is Locked since last two months and still same excuses material and trade shortage. We have been very patient but now we are very close to go broke due to financial and mental stress this Build has caused us meanwhile all other houses nearby started with us have been built over a year ago. Pros and cons to with BGC are: Pro's: As the biggest Builder of WA they will never go broke as it's also mentioned in their emails they send regularly to clients. Con's: They will pass on price rise however delays caused by them. They will ask you to find your own trade and you pay out of pocket and they will still charge you more for that. They will keep on delaying your build and blaming Covid meanwhile other Builders are smoothly finishing houses. I won't suggest anyone to Build with GO Homes or any other BGC Companies.I wish people would not leave a 5 star review before they are into construction!!!!!!!
This gives a totally unrealistic idea to people who are signing up with Go Homes. It is a veritable nightmare, start to finish.
I have been at it since 2019 with BGC, March 2020 with Go Homes, and am still nowhere near completion! Show details

Go homes is the worst building company in WA. Save urself the stress go with someone else! We got our home handed over after many many issues in December. Straight away there was water coming under the kitchen cabinet. She we called them. They sent a plumber and reported that tho original plumber had done the plumbing incorrect. We were told the cabinets would need to come out and be replaced. We have had 3 site managers come and confirm this! And given go homes 100s of phone calls to get this sor... Read moreted. We have gotten that fed up with being passed from pillar to post we got an independent inspection done, who confirmed this too. And sent to go homes, who then sent another supervisor out. Only for him to say why are they wasting my time the kitchen needs replaced. Still nothing 7 months on. Then 5 months ago our outdoor feature tile which we paid extra 1000s of $ for fell off smashing the bellow tiles. They sent another inspector out who said it needs fixed!! (No really!!) Now we just got an email saying that it’s a 6/8 week wait for an inspector to come out and inspect the jobs needing done that has been inspected now 5 times!!!!! Workmanship is terrible! I don't know how a company which claims to be the biggest and the best Builder in WA can destroy that many innocent lives. We signed with these clowns in start of 2020 and was told max 8-10 months we will be in our home. When we purchased the Land in the estate there was only few blocks titled rest was all under process now we sitting at over 2 years and our house is still not yet completed meanwhile all other Land in the estate has been titled since last year houses got built and owners happily living there. At every stage we only regret the way they treated including waiting for months to get pre-start date, in Construction waiting for slab then waiting months for Bricklayer and also nominated own which costs us thousands more plus Builder passed on price rise to us then waited 6 months for roof still not fully completed, waited over 2 months for plaster works then month for Lockup and still same situation nothing changed same old lies at every stage that next stage will be quick which is not. They pushed us really hard to go broke now weeks after weeks passing and no works getting done however only few days works left to be completed before handover. OK the facts, no aggressive language, job number 52623, we signed with Go Homes Sep 2021, almost one year on, still haven’t seen a single brick, no update, no explanation…what do we suppose to do, do we renew our rental for one more year, two more years??? It’s absolutely ridiculous, they get you in the door with milk and honey only to leave you in the lurch once the check clears. One of the selling points they gave us was that BGC owns Midland Brick so the delay would be minimal. Now we see other houses who started after us get bricks delivered and brickies on site while we look at a slab of concrete. It’s an absolute sham. I’ve had a more reliable experience with servo sushi than BGC. Show details

Hi Go homes,
What is the meaning of your 6+ months time frame to get the brickwork done?
Can you please explain because I don't seem to get an answer when I ask the "right person".

Hi , what is the time frame for a building contract to be drawn up?
It was more than a year ago when I signed my contract. But based on my rough memory, it was about 2-3 weeks to get the building contract.
Thanks, the builder told us 6wks, now their saying another 4 was, it’s just doesn’t seem right.
