DO NO USE THEM - complete rip off business
Cheap website fees that are set to autorenew at extortionate rates in the fine print. Even if you don’t select auto renew, they set it up so it auto renews any way and it’s in the fine print of the terms and conditions. If you don’t cancel within 24 hours, you have paid it and they won’t refund. DISGUSTING
Harassing calls to buy products
I received a sales call from Go Daddy to purchase a product I’d cancelled years ago. When I told the sales rep I wasn’t interested he became rude, critical and manipulative. There was also no way to lodge a complaint. One reason I changed web providers was the lack of customer service and long wait on the phone to get technical support
Shysters just want to fleece you
I tried to cance auto renewal a number of times and finally succeeded - only to find that minutes later they charged me for something that was not in our agreement. Now I will have to follow up with them to refund the money. Don't give them your credit card details!
I recommend them to my mate to arrange and build a website
He has had support issues since it's been up.
1/ They are not based in Australia, so good luck getting support
2/ When you try and get support, they don't fix what you have requested the issue was
3/ They try and blame everyone else, in consideration, They built the site.
I would be very careful in using or recommending them !!!!!!!!!!
The person i recommended is now dumping them and moving his site away from them
They will take double amount of your money on auto renew
They will take double amount of your money on auto renew and by the time you see the charge on your credit card its to late...NO REFUND policy.
Keep away.. they have taken double amount of my money 3 different packages and if you check current packages its half the price. I have called twice and they go through the process and then they hang up.
I have never come across this before its a joke
How are they allowed to operate ?
Used godaddy to search for my domain's availability and it was available. Come back in a week's time to see the domain was taken and they're trying to charge me $3K+ for it. One of the most unethical services I have encountered.
Expensive and poor service
Do not get the brokerage service, you will incur further commision rates of 20 percent and unless your budget is massive you'll be ignored and the initial fee taken. There are far better options for negotiating a domain purchase
Stay far far far away from this Company
If I could give it a minus 1000 score, I would. Try and contact them after they have got your money. Forced to “chat” with some outsource centre on the Asian continent somewhere and they just cut you off. And then you have to start your story again…..over, & over, and over to the next person, and the next person, and the next person. Not knowing any thing about domains they registered my company name with the Pty Ltd in the domain name “xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxservicesptyltd” which made it very long. I couldn’t change it so I had to register a second ...shorter company name. And then the double charging of Office 365 which had a 2 year subscription but they send you another bill after one year. Paid the annual renewal subscription and a month later they send again (with me forgetting & not checking) I paid again. What an ordeal to get that back. You cannot talk to anyone in Australia. No email, no phone contact numbers associated with this Company’s website. Only a foreign chat service and good luck with that. I didn’t pay the next renewal to get away from this Company and lost all my work emails after they shut down my second Company email address. Stay as far away from this Company as you can. A very unpleasant experience.
Domain Broker Service - .com.au Domain
Upon finding out that my desired domain name was already registered and not knowing much about the registering of domains et al, I paid for the domain broker service expecting useful personalised advice, what I got was far from that. Upon receiving a ridiculous request for $3000 for the domain I decided to delve a little deeper into the registering of domains et al. Based on a cursory search, it became apparent to me that I was legally entitled to the domain and that GoDaddy had allowed it to be illegally registered by someone else who had noti...ced the site notice on my house and registered the domain in order to extort money from me for it. I lodged a complaint with the AuDA, they found in my favour and GoDaddy were forced to de-register the domain, all of which causing me unnecessary headache and stress and wasting valuable time. The domain broker never bothered to do the simple cursory search that I did to discover the domain had been illegally registered and instead tried to profit off the fact that it had been, as opposed to pointing out that I was legally entitled to the domain and providing advice re the retrieval of said domain. If you want to see who has registered a domain: https://whois.auda.org.au/ AuDA guidelines on registering of .com.au domains: https://www.auda.org.au/policy/2012-04-domain-name-eligibility-and-allocation-policy-rules-open-2lds AuDA complaint lodging: https://www.auda.org.au/au-domain-names/lodge-complaint Happy to answer any questions in the comments/provide advice. I also received the below direct email following a rather less than productive chat with a GoDaddy customer service representative, interesting as the email address is new and receives nearly no spam...
no customer service
you cant contact them by email
you cant open a support ticket
their online chat is always offline
the only way to connect them is to call them by phone.
it is awful. zero customer service.
Worst Company to deal with
Not only are they expensive and always looking for ways to get more money from you but they are very difficult to contact, no email only call them and then "oh you'll have to contact these people or I will get someone to call you back" too bad if you don't have a job that allows you to sit by the phone waiting. On top of that they never did the back ups of my site like they were obliged to and then one day my site was deleted with their response " oh I don't know what could have happened but there is nothing we can do" "for some reason the back...ups weren't done" So without my web guy having an old back up we could restore from I would have been screwed and GoDaddy had no help to offer. Don't fall for their fake great deals cause then the extra charges start and the runaround from their staff.
I seriously have had nothing but good service from them, their support has always been prompt and knowledgable , I have many products with them and have had no issues, they have helped when others havent
Tried to send them an email request to authenticate my domain but they don't do email.
You need to call and go through a myriad of menus - eventually when someone answers your call, they just hang up on you.
I still don't have my domain authenticated - stay away from these people.
Terrible! Must read before signing up with Go Daddy.
I migrated my cpanel and webmail to GoDaddy 8 days ago. The server has been down the past 5 days and I have only just been able to access the cpanel and webmail today, only to find:
1. 2 x email addresses have totally disappeared (thank goodness I have backup from the migration).
2. All incoming email during the downtime for other webmail accounts has been lost.
3. I can't send or receive from any of my email accounts (after hours spent on the phone with support, I find out my email addresses have been blacklisted).
4. Meanwhile, most of their ...
This is not an honest company, stay away
I am a senior developer.
Go daddy is as bad as crazy domain.
After you log in, they try their best to display ads and try to ask you to buy things. It is very difficult to find the things you need.
It is a waste of time to navigate through the pages and advertisement to find the things you need.
Don’t waste your time or money
Godaddy website builder is very limiting and for what you get the price is high. After I had completed my website, because of its limiting factors I had to then manually change over to Shopify, which was several days of work because your cannot export any of your data from godaddy. This is how they trap you. Their customer service seemed okay at first but then, this one guy was an absolute useless idiot (this is factual), and made me very frustrated and surprised that godaddy would hire someone like this. I have now changed to Shopify completely and they are soooooo much better. Seriously people, don’t waste your resources on this crap!
I am a web developer - GoDaddy Hopeless!!!
The server is incredibly slow and loses connection all the time. When I call customer service they try to sell upgrades to rectify the complaint. I have none of these issues with other hosting companies. I would no recommend Go Daddy to anyone. Very disappointed.
Do not use this company for anything at all
Everything they do is bad in every way shape and form. Email servers, web domains you name a service and they do it badly. Th email fault is the worst as it then locks you out for 4 or 5 business days, and you are stuck
Went to delete one of my wordpress sites that i would not be using and godaddy has deleted my main wordpress site i was actively working on without the box being checked for selection in the manage/options area.
Have contacted godaddy and they cannot restore unless i pay $149.99 fee when its a fault at their end for deleting without that wordpress box being checked. I have also got other plugins and themes i have recently purchased through that link that i now cannot access.
Dirty marketing tricks.
I bought a domain and I assumed the hosting fees were included since there was no option to include the services in the payment process. Customer service ignored my request to refund a even a portion of the money is lost for nothing. Watch yourself, research well.
As a developer, i'll honestly tell you this is the worst on the planet
I have used multiple hosting services over the past 15 years and GoDaddy has just been so irritating to the point I had to make an account and be honest. STAY THE HELL AWAY. They are awful. They will create problems for websites and tech are paid commission on selling tech services and upgrades. It's an awful scam.
Was OK, until i needed to upgrade my website
So joined GoDaddy, to get the benefit of my domains working better with outlook.com without having the full business setup.
Anyway, i installed Prestashop (late last year) as i am in the process of setting up a business, and still in the configuration stages - almost ready to launch.
Anyway, a new major release of Prestashop came out and i thought i should upgrade before launching, but on trying i find i need MySql 5.7, the server only has 5.6.x so i did a google search and 3 years ago someone raised this issue about the MySQL version.
Anywa...y, i contact support and get told i need to get VPS or a dedicated server to upgrade my MySQL version. FYI the current version is 8.x.x.... So moral to the story, if you are starting out, steer clear of GoDaddy unless you want to pay the bigger $ for VPS/Dedicated servers. FYI - I should point out that in some forums i found GoDaddy said that they would be upgrading the "Shared Hosting Plans" to MySQL 5.7 - this was back in 2017.
worst!! Shopify is better
In the process of making my site with go daddy I kept losing access - I could not gain entry to my site numerous times, had to wait hours for the help desk, finally fixed it - lost access again. It said my site no longer existed after hours of work. DO NOT USE
I've been trying to purchase a domain for a website for about a month now. It has been a long process of back and forths and me having to constantly chase them up over obscure information and a bunch of errors no one can explain. I've spoken to multiple customer service reps both on the chat and via phone, none of which have resolved any of the issues. The reps couldnt even answer basic questions like "what is an entity type?" or "what is my entity name supposed to be?". Twice they gave me the wrong information or said "i'm not sure. Yeah, I th...ink it might be the name of your business" or other wishy washy, tepid responses. Ive had several payments for my domain refunded for errors they dont actually explain and when they send you emails saying "the legal entity typed was incorrect", they cant actually tell you what you were supposed to have added. When i get them on the phone and ask them to look up the error or issues, they tell me that they cant access that information and they have to ask or email someone else. It has been an absolute nightmare to say the least. Oh, and their website is TOTALLY not user friendly. It is extremely confusing to use. How is it that you can check out and buy items without them actually processing the domain and ensuring it will go through? I've paid for an email i cannot use yet on a count of my domain not going through. Linking your domain to your website is also a nightmare.
Would give them minus 5 if I could.
You wait on hold for over and hour, then it hangs up. Not just once but multiple times. You speak to their support team and depending on who you speak to, they offer you the same product with various prices as they don't know what they are doing. They moved my emails over the Office 365 without my consent and then all the folders disappear from outlook and to get them back its taken me two weeks, numerous conversations, so many calls and chats, I cannot count and I am still without a solution. After 3 one hour calls today I asked to speak to a...supervisor instead of the support team and they have to call me back tomorrow when their "migration team" starts work, as he cant fix it. This is for three business email addresses. I am now moving all my emails out of GoDaddy as I its costing me a fortune in time to resolve this. Let alone that when I got pricing for their new "office 365 emails" some of their team said it was $18 per year another $186 and then another $660! I am going elsewhere with my emails and next the rest of my products with them due to their incompetency!
