Action camera that fails after shooting little action
I've had a go pro 4 silver for 2 years. I wouldn't have filmed 2 hrs footage on it. It has been stored in the box. It now freezes. Go pro have told me it's outside the warranty and won't replace it but will offer me 20% off another go pro. This has worked out at over 4$ per min of footage. A great camera when it worked but that was limited. An overpriced camera given they don't last long
Great little camera - I no longer pack the bulky digital cameras
I've been using my GoPro Hero 4 Silver since October 2015 and love this camera. As others have stated the battery life is not brilliant running at around 2 hours but changing over the battery is no big deal. The images are sharp and I love how you can take quality stills from video.
I mostly import video to my iPad or iPhone and use their new app called "Splice". This does a brilliant job for my needs (and also accepts video from the iPad/iPhone or other digital device if you can export). Images are clear and rich with great depth and clari...ty for such a small camera. Relatives have scoffed that such a small camera would be able to take quality photos when we got the family together for a reunion. The wide angle lense made short work of shuffling people in tight to make sure they were in frame. I've taken this awesome piece of kit to Cairns and snorkled the Great Barrier Reef. The 1080p video resolution at 30fps looks great on a large TV. I wouldn't worry about buying the GoPro mini hdmi to hdmi cable as its over priced. I purchased a cheapie and it works fine if you want to watch raw footage straight from the camera - but it's a pain to control the actual camera to play your footage. Here a smart remote or the app work well. I'd recommend a few necessary accessories to make your experience a little better. 1) Additional battery/batteries. 2) A seperate charger for the batteries or you'll need to use the camera for charging. 3) An octopus tripod. 4) Some spare buckle mounts. 5) Quality storage case (this doesn't need to be big). 6) A quality selfie stick (not like a telescopic aerial but one that locks in place). With this basic kit you can achieve some really fantastic angles and shots. Watch a few YouTube channels for ideas how to take most of the shake from your shots and you'll create home cinema masterpieces in no time. So many options to take photos or video. I tend to stick with 1080p @ 30fps for video and highest resolution possible for photos. You can set up the cameras default mode with your fave setting ready to go when turned on - a cool feature that can save valuable time.
Great Camera/Bad Software
We recently purchased this camera for our 11 year old son for Christmas. The camera quality is amazing and the user interface is easy to operate as well. The camera is easy to move via optional accessories as well. We have have great time with our battery life, so no complaints here. I highly recommend a FAST MicroSD card for the camera to write information effectively. The software for editing is however crashing all the time. This is the only bad experience that we have encountered thus far
Great Action Cam
The touch screen is a handy feature on this camera, the Video quality is great better than I thought it would be. The Gopro app and connectivity work well on my Samsung S5 but the battery life is quite poor. All in all I love my action Cam I would recommend this product to anyone thinking of getting one.

Know better, choose better.
Purchased in July 2015 and been using it almost every weekend since!
Great product with its handy touch screen at the back in my opinion is much better than the Black edition. Video quality is powerful enough with 15fps 4k (which isnt really needed), i find 1080 120fps or 60 fps is more than enough.
Only complaint is the battery life but that is the same with the whole GoPro range, nothing an extra battery or two cannot fix
|Video Quality||4K Ultra HD|
