The tradespersons were not considerate in area they worked in, the mess from dust, plaster throughout kitchen/ and glue on floor took me 6 hours to clean up. Then completed works had a joining fault this was repaired however no follow up from company other than a invoice.
Not very happy
Granite Transformations Coffs Harbour installed a beautiful kitchen for us 9 years ago with a 10 year warranty but now, the cornices installed by one of THEIR contractors, are falling off the ceiling and they don't want to know about it because, as they say, the business has changed hands (not OUR problem). We dealt with a business, NOT who owns it, and have a warranty. Whoever bought the business is also not OUR problem. Our contract was with a business, Granite Transformations, despite the 1,2 or 3 owners who may have come along in the meanti...me. I will be taking them to the Department of Fair Trading, as the company, at that time should, in my opinion, still be held responsible under our original warranty agreement with Granite Transformations.
Poor workmanship, had them back 3 time to make the job look half reasonable standard. Just discovered why our new rangehood they installed is not venting, they fixed the rangehood on wall and plugged it in to power but didn't install the venting. Guess they thought wont matter if we can't see it. Now we have to remove the whole rangehood install the venting and reinstall.
Overall far below average job.
UPDATE Great Product. Terrible Customer service
Had bathroom vanity benchtops installed last week. Installers were pleasant and tidy. After the 24hr drying period I became aware that the front panel of the benchtop was preventing drawers and cupboards from opening. I contacted the franchisee who seemed barely bothered by it. Being a main bathroom, all of my bathroom/cosmetic/hair products are in this drawer which I can not open. I would have expected some form of apology and effort to resolve the problem as soon as possible, instead I was told they would talk to the installer the following w...eek to see when/maybe he could attend. I have tried telephoning the showroom numerous times with no answer (been told phones are having a problem), tried mobile numbers, left messages and no response. I even contacted Head Office (whose phone number listed on the website is incorrect) and was told it was up to the franchisee. They did today have the audacity to request payment which will not be forthcoming until the work is completed to an acceptable standard ie. ability to open drawers/cupboards. My concern is how they are going to fix it, grinding it back will likely a) cause damage to the existing cupborad frame and b) not leave a clean straight edge; removing the benchtop, if even possible will more than likely damage the cabinet.I am very disappointed and my original excitement of the look of the benchtops has worn off following this complete lack of responsibility and customer care. I am sure the showroom workers have access to their toiletries albeit they seem to think it is not a problem for me. UPDATE: Installers returned and fixed the problem by adjusting the drawer/ cupboard hinges. Now I can enjoy my new bench tops.
Had engaged GT Gold coast to update benchtops due to wear marks and for some reason prior owner installed a dishwasher and put a 40mm hole in benchtop to get power to dishwasher. Saw some reviews questionable however salesperson assured us that there were new management and new owners. Allowed 2 full days for the replacement of the benchtop as we were going away however it any problems we were in full phone contact. Had to disconnect plumbing and appliances for the work and electrician when he was to reinstall cooktop was to put a power point u...nder sink. Then on day of replacement instead of spanning the work over 2 days they crammed it all in one day. The finished product looked good however at 9pm when the work was about to end the tradesman realised that there was no power point for the dishwasher under the sink so he drilled a 40mm hole in the benchtop. They didn't even call us before the hole was drilled. How stupid could they have been? We complained to GT and they sent their tradesman around but he suggested too hard to fix and no solution was given. Not one follow up call or anything. To cover their bad mistake we ended up not paying the final bill, and we ended up putting a pop up powerpoint to cover the hole. They should of at least suggested this but we heard nothing from them and no solution.
Having read some of the poor reviews of the Penrith branch, I have to agree. The guy was late even at quotation stage. Cupboard doors had to be removed and remade because they didn't fit. The tradesman moved onto the next job before mine was finished, so another tradesman had to come in to finish my work. I wanted North Rocks branch to do the renovation (based on a friend's place I had seen), but Granite Transformation passes you onto the nearest branch in your area. There is a world of difference between branches. Will never use them again, unless it's the North Rocks branch.
Very disappointed with customer service
Great customer service for the quote however that’s where it ended. First tradesman was late, rude & turned up with wrong parts. Couldn’t finish the job first visit & couldn’t tell me when he would be back. When he did come back he was late again & still didn’t have all the right parts with him. He had many issues with the install, I was left having no confidence in his ability. One of my drawers also got damaged when he was putting it in. After complaining to the office, and then having to make numerous phone calls following up a response (again poor customer service) another tradesman [name removed] came to finish the job. If only I could have had [name removed] from the start, he was fantastic, polite, and nothing was a problem!
They Scratched our new oven & dishwasher. Left us with a leaking sink. Failed to correct a significant protruding granite edge. Our home was left filthy. There was no follow-up to our written review.
Unable to get them to respond to emails / Telephone calls
We initially engaged GT Canberra via an insurance claim due to damaged to the original GT worktops (10 yr old). Initial service was good and they said earliest install date would be Feb 2017 (order and paid deposit Nov 2016). Had to postpone Feb install and made contact in March for new date. Have been trying to make contact via emails and phone calls to get them to give me a date but not able to speak to anyone. Leave voice messages on answerphone and mobile and still no response. Extremely poor customer service and they have my money so cannot go elsewhere. Need them to call me and explain at least why they are not responding..... Be very careful of the Canberra Branch.
Problem after problem
Faulty Templating for kitchen worktop. Finished worktop had to be modified after fitting. Rough and open edge on worktop end had to be rectified. BATHROOM plan not executed as originally agreed __ could not be modified after installing. Pipes under bath leaked due to incorrect size fittings causing water leaks into kitchen and damage to ceiling below. Faulty installation of bath overflow caused second leak into kitchen below. [name removed] could not be contacted and refused via his assistant to rectify the bath overflow and consequential damage to the ceiling below. Have had no apology except from [name removed] who tried her best to resolve the issues. Would NOT recommend Granite Transformations.
Wrong Measurements And Wasted Time
I hired Granite Transformations to do a new fit out in my kitchen. They came out to do one spot check for one hour in which they took all the measurements. Before the installation I was required to pay the full amount except for $400 which I would pay once the installation was complete. So Granite Transformations came to my house to install their product when they discovered that every single measurements for the kitchen was wrong (cabinets, draws, etc). They notified me that at the beginning of the project (when they took the measurements) tha...t they would be at my house for two days. I decided to take the entire week off work as I know that construction can sometimes can go over time constraints. Due to them taking the incorrect measurements it ended up taking almost 2 weeks instead of 2 days. I could take another week off work so my partner had to take the week off work instead. During these two weeks my kitchen was completely unusable as they disconnected my water, oven, microwave, dishwasher and range-hood. I couldn't cook, wash dishes or heat food. I had to order take away for two weeks and buy plastic plates, cups and cutlery. GRANITE TRANSFORMATIONS, UNACCEPTABLE!
I would have expected this product to last longer than 3 years! This product is designed to apply over existing laminate bench tops. Well NOT SO!
If you are looking for a product equally as good as granite or natural marble which granite transformations compared themselves too, pigs will fly!
Think twice before installing this, yes it may be cheaper but unreliable.
This product is not conducive to application around sinks. My bench top has a huge bubble where water has seeped under the slab and lifted the composite granite. Have been told it's not repairable, so pretty much, TOO BAD.
My advice, if you are looking for a long lasting makeover for your kitchen bench tops , AVOID. SO ANNOYED, A WASTE OF $7000
The test of time.
In 2003 I had a complete kitchen renovation by Brisbane Granite Transformations costing just under $10,000. I am a one person household and unfortunately the kitchen has not stood the test of time.
I chose a white grey and black fleck granite and the polymer which holds the material together has yellowed some areas worse than others. The vinyl wrap doors have split on the edges and I now have to pay for a kitchen resurface. This time I have made sure to order solid granite benches and 2 pac doors - it has been an expensive lesson.
poor after sales service
We looked for 12 months trying to decide who to get to do our kitchen, when we saw GT in our local mall, so we spoke to their representative, and it sounded great. We spoke to a lot of people that had their kitchens done by GT and we we told not to go with them, but we thought they sounded great so decide we would. The installer was terrific, all done within the time we were told , cleaned up before they left Great install It has been 4 yrs, and we have marks on the bench, and I as the home owner have never spilt anything on my benches and co...uldnt understand why these marks were appearing on 2 separate benches, so we rang our local rep, who on seeing the marks said I had put something hot on the benches, as the marks were all similar in shape. He tried, over the next couple of week to remove the stains, with every bleach product that he could find ... with no results. We were told he would put in a claim. We then received a letter from the Sydney HO, well he tells me marks dont just appear ( I agree ) told me i had spilt , and left it on there (no I havent ) then I told him his local rep told me I had burnt the bench tops..which the HO gentleman told me he didnt agree with that. He then asked me I we had any other tradies in the house, which I told him we hadnt, his answers was everybody says that. Then he told me we could claim accidental damage on our house insurance, and he would give us a quote... is he for real, we would never deal with GT again. Poor quality for what you pay for, and very dissappointed in the after sales service
