They knew about a fault in the car, hid it and lied on the description not mentioning it. Legal actions been taken
I bought a car through them as description was "Perfect", logbook with full service history, both keys, low kms, everything there. Nothing negative about, therefore the car would go for a much higher price ;-). We did the walk around, car on, everything matched the description done by th inspectors from Grays. Collecting the vehicle, As we started the car and it moved 5 metres, An alarm came off with the engine warning light and a message "Engine fault: Repair needed!" We stopped the car by the front office where i spoke to [name removed], who ...said they did not know about the fault, they drove the car twice around the block, just double checking for any light or problem and it wasn't there before, this reason it isn't on the description. After discussing he made a report but refused to give me a copy or a business card, so i took a picture of the report. Now, been a week dealing with the customer service they said there's nothing they can do as auctions don't offer warranty, what i know and im good with that but once you don't try to hide a problem and sell something as it has no problems. I sent them a picture where one of the "electrical boards" of the car is opened what indicates someone tried to do something ;-). Now i got all the evidences and the proves they knew about the issue prior to the auction and tried to hide it, so legal actions have been taken. Be aware and really careful when purchasing something from them.

Do not ever buy from Grays through Auctions. Their products are nowhere near as described on website or app. Their whole auction process is dodgy. THEY ARE TRYING TO ROB YOUR MONEY. Once you buy in auction and go to collect your stuff, they make you stand in open in a queue for 1.5-2 hrs before being served by a rude customer service officer and then comes the biggest surprise. You are handed over faulty stuff that was described as working in their listing. They take no responsibility, once they handover the product to you. You try t...

Grays online deceptive, and misleading behaviour, that breach their own policies.
Firstly why does grays keep on deleting my posts and then blocked me from facebook and also deactivated my grays online account? What have they got to hide?
They did this because they know the following is the honest truth.
Absolutely Shameful and disgusting Service by Grays Online. They can not be trusted and constantly misrepresent items and deceive.
However Grays State:
- A number of policies that promote a culture of compliance, honesty and ethical behaviour within the Group.
- The Group is also committed to the highest standards of condu...
Don’t sell your car!
Total salesman approach encountered. Our car was harshly assessed (not sure where the stratches and dents are!) and we were strongly encouraged to sell without a reserve. In combination this ensures quick turnover of vehicles as the commission is the same to Grays whether you sell first auction or 5th. The seller takes the hit. We were told not to list on gumtree etc as we’d only get “enquiries” from Nigeria, and told not to give our details to those people. Thanks for the advice Grays!! It is also unknown why you can’t sell bidding style start...ing at $0 with a reserve that needs to be met, perhaps to discourage a reserve being set. Instead bidding starts at the reserve, so I wouldn’t even call it an auction. Don’t recommend, taking our car off the site.
Panasonic TV purchase
I purchased a Panasonic TH-65FX700A 65-inch 4K Ultra HD LED LCD Smart TV from Graysonline in September 2019 which wasn't unboxed until December 2019. By April 2020 the TV had started to not turn on properly, leaving us staring at a blank screen for 20 mins or more while it 'warmed up'. On researching this model number I found that this was a known fault, where many other purchasers had experienced the TV not turning on after only a few months. When I rang Panasonic I was told that Grays were not a registered retailer of their products in Aus...tralia and they were unable to assist (despite the fact that the model itself has a fault). I rang Grays for help and was advised that the product was only sold with 3 months warranty (convenient given the fault presents itself after a few months of use). Unsure as to why this model was being sold with only 3 months warranty if this is a known fault. Overall a very unsavoury experience and I won't purchase from Grays again.
Grays now a selling platform for anything from anyone just for a commission!
If I could pick zero stars I would. Its a commission based business but that should not be at the expense of quality and service because without these the business is nothing.
Some weeks ago I bid on a "pickup" Keyboard Mouse combo on my phone.
Won the bid and noted the pickup was an unusual location as I have always collected from Grays depots.
What I did not see buried in the web pages of the phone screen information was a specific day and date AND time for pickup at this location.
When I went to the address on the web page it turned o...ut to be a suburban house in the backstreets of a Sydney Suburb. I was advised by the home owner that the pickup was the previous business day between 9 and 3pm and that there was no alternative day for collection and suggested I call Grays Customer Service. I felt the sale was done from the boot of a car. I have always collected previously from Grays depots within a specified time period not a day and date of the vendors choosing.
Never buy a car again from that auction!
You buy a car without drive it , no gear box issues comment but gearbox’s broken!
I bought 2 cars from them no bad comment but has big gear box issue.
I could not drive one and left it in there, today is 26 days l have Not received my money. 5 times called them .l made a complaint with fair trading Brisbane office
Still l am waiting for someone call or email me. It’s shameful!!!!
Poor communication and no complaint resolution skills
I attended the address where grays advised me my item would be ready to pick up and on the day of collection. The location was a block of factories in Riverstone. I spoke to all factories and no one knew anything about my purchase. I contacted grays customer service with no luck. I left a message to call which was never returned. I located the Grays contact for the auction and he also didn’t know where to pick the item up. He also promised to call. After 3 hours of dealing with Grays I went home empty handed and lodged a complaint online. Now 2...2 days later still no response from Grays. I then contacted the office by phone to be advised that they still hadn’t had time to respond to my complaint and are not sure what to do. (No refund of money, no goods and still can’t even get a correct location. The only way of dealing with this company is through the department of fair trading. Some companies shouldn’t have an auction licence

An Absolute Pleasure to deal with over many years. 5 Star Online Auctioneers
Have been a regular customer over many years, and commend the staff at Grays online for their outstanding customer service, great attitude and helpfulness when collecting items at Jandakot. The service provided leaves other Auction houses, especially Rosses Auction who are absolutely disgraceful, miles behind in their wake. By and far my preferred online Auction Site.
Keep up the great work guys, you are very much appreciated..!
Worst customer service ever!
Lots of defect items yet no help trying to fix the issues. On several occasions I have been a successful bidder and paid only to be told after the auction that the item is no longer available. Bad glitches and faults with the online payment system. I won't be buying again.
Great Place To Sell And Buy A Car.
Have Purchased And Sold Cars At Grays.. When Purchasing Obviously I recommend viewing before you bid. The staff are helpful and will give you keys and you can view the service books. I have also sold a few cars via Grays and the results have been surprising. I highly recommend. Shout Out To Jason Bayliss Great to Deal With And Always Helpful.
Genuinely the worst customer service ever
I purchased a case of wine via auction on the 16th of June.
It stated a 5 business day delivery window.
2 weeks later the item hadn't arrived.
I tried to make communication via phone, the hold times were in excess of 60 Minutes.
I sent an email which was NOT responded to.
On tge the 3rd of July I managed to get through the phone hold times to consultant Marc, who promised to get back to me within 2 business days. He never did.
On 10th July I emailed again on the same email chain and called and spoke to a female consultant who made the same p...
