Very unprofessional he kept interrupting and talking to colleagues while he was doing my tax return! He also was answering phones. I didn’t trust him that he did the right gob.
takes an extra week for return to come through- and fees are too high
My tax return was given back by the ATO to H and R block 2 days ago, and I have been told it usually takes an extra week, so am not expected to have it back in my account for another 5 days more. I was told this has to do with a report from the ATO, that they need for all returns, that comes through a few days after the return is issued. Staff are very nice, but they didn't supply me with information that would have been helpful. I have tax returns from 6 years ago to do and I was told if I didn't want to do it myself via paper (which takes ...more than 50 days), I should come into the office and pay the 150 dollar fee. However, I looked up H and R blocks own website and you can do it online with them for only 19 dollars. Wish they had just told me that.
Don’t go to H&R.
Did my tax return at H&R chadstone and just an advice to anyone wanting to do their individual tax return -don’t go to H&R chadstone.
This year after putting in all the deductions i could claim, the accountant told me I need to pay back couple of hundreds. 2 years ago I had the same problem at the same place with the same person whom I filled with who told me I had to pay back $2000. He told me then that it was probably my workplace which wasn’t taxing me CORRECTLY. So I went back to my 2 other workplace in payroll 2 years ago and monitored...the amount of percentage I was being taxed every payslip and made sure I was being taxed at the highest rate. After that, I did 2 years of tax filling online with etax and not H&R chadstone and I had $800 return for 2 years consecutively. This time i was silly enough to go back to H&R chadstone again thinking this time they could help me and guess what? I was informed I need to pay back couple of hundreds even after putting in amounts I could claim. I can tell you something is wrong with the way this accountant at chadstone is filling my return. I had all my paperwork, private health insurance everything ready for him. Had I known that I had to pay back hundreds and still pay $130 of tax accountant fee. I would have done it on etax online. Of course he told me again it’s because the tax percentage at my jobs(I have 3 jobs) doesn’t take enough percentage. 2 years ago I already made sure of this. Anyways, who knows if I can’t be sure? Btw, I am a low income earner and no hex debts owned at all and I have my private health cover(which I don’t need to pay for Medicare levy)
Have been going to HR Block for years but this year will be the last. I made a double appointment as my husband was doing his return too. My return is very basic, with the lack of understand the printer and having to ask other staff for help constantly my consultant used the whole hour on mine. The next day they did my husbands return with him over the phone then he had to go back in and sign his. I then get a call to come back in and re sign mine as she had made an error, when I went back in had to write my name on a piece of paper as the receptionist’s English was no good and she couldn’t understand me.....unimpressed!

Know better, choose better.
I had my tax processed at Caroline springs on the 8/5/2018 and when I checked the progress of refund it was showing that tax dept received it on the 15/05/2018..I assumed that when you log a refund with H & R that the tax dept would recieve it on that day or at least the day after.. especially as it was all done electronically.. why the delay in lodging the refund????
Peace of Mind Claim Was Not Honored
I went to H&R Block to have my 2016 taxes prepared and an error was made by the tax preparer of a $600 tax credit which resulted in the IRS sending me a letter saying that I know owe that amount. At the time of my filing I paid for the Peace of Mind service just in case something like this happened but when I reached out to H&R Block to resolve this issue they were unhelpful and had horrible customer service. After providing all of the necessary documentation to file my Peace of Mind claim, they said that they would not honor my claim so I had ...to pay $600+ interest to the IRS for a mistake they made while preparing my taxes. I will not be using H&R Block services going forward in the future and I encourage those that do, to not be surprised if H&R Block does not honor your Peace of Mind claim.
I will never use H & R Block at North Lakes again, it was very unprofessional, what should have been a 2 week wait for our return has turned into a 4 week wait, because they left our paper work sitting on the floor, if we hadn't rang about why no return after 2 weeks, it could have still being sitting there!!
Two relatively straight forward tax returns (my wife and my own) completed in one hour with a bit of chit chat in between. Most of our details were already on file. Cost $700. Way too expensive!!. I cant imagine what other service would cost so much.
