Just ripped it off the windows. Dark and depressing. Did not live up to Rick’s claims. $1200 down the drain.
Never recommend this product. Now it’s off our room has come back to life. It certainly brought the outside in, as it was dark and depressing. What a waste. Rubbish

Don’t do it!
3 months after tinting had bubbled and peeled, I am still chasing for it to be replaced. No one returns calls. Lost count of the number of messages I have left for the Managing Director. They take your money and then say sorry we are not in your area this week. Don’t do it!

? On Tuesday, I advised I would be available on Friday and again the installers were not in my area. Honestly if you were considering using this company, I strongly advise you not to. As you can see, the Managing Director couldn’t care less, and you need to be sitting at home for the phone to ring in case the installer may ring and say I’m on the way because it is basically impossible to schedule in a day and time to get work done.Similar opinion? Appalling service, terrible craftsmanship, worse costumer service. new office windows.
The tint installers left gaps around the edged where they cut the silicon away. We were told it had to cure for 2 weeks so it would be resealed then and you wouldn't see the gaps. This was in April, a subcontractor came out 5 weeks later to seal the windows, and made a meal of it, not sealing properly, silicon all over the new tint finger prints where he wiped his hands clean on the class. It's now mid august and still hasnt been resolved. We received an email saying that they are trying to find a professional caulker??? Surely as a tinting com...Read more

Think Twice
I booked home window tinting with this company and paid a deposit. They did not turn up on the day and time booked so I rang the company only to be told that they did not have any other jobs in the area so the job had to be rescheduled. Not much used to me when I have taken a day off work for the job to be done and no one contacted me. I cancelled the job and asked for my deposit to be refunded. I have called them, I have emailed them all with no reply Over a week later I am still waiting for the refund.
This company has no customer service what so ever. They take your deposit, don't do the job, then wont give you a refund.

give me a date that you could do the work. My calls were made to your 1800 number as advertised on the Quotation, Sales Managers business card and your website. I called 3 times over a span of 13 days to arrange my refund and was advised that I needed to speak with [Name Removed], each time I was told [Name Removed] was at a meeting and that she would contact me. I did not receive a return phone call from Louise or anyone else. I emailed the email address on the Quotation after no response I emailed the Sales Manager who I had made the booking through again no response. Surely the people that manage these emails would have passed on my email to the appropriate person or department or have the courtesy to reply. It took 3 phone calls, 2 emails and this negative review for someone from Happy Tint to contact me - even through it was only through this review, and 15 days to receive my refund.Similar opinion? Very disappointed Sunshine Branch damage to my door
I have sent an email today to [Name Removed] in Sunshine Branch and also admin, I know that I would't get a reply so I am writing this review and hoping someone will get in contact with me.
I am writing to you regarding damage done to the inside of my car door.

We have treated your complaints to date with patience and good will. We obliged when you insisted on a full refund - despite our belief that the standard of tint was acceptable, and any slight imperfections could have been easily rectified. We agreed to remove the film. Now you claim we have damaged your door trim during the removal process. Happy Tint staff are fully aware that company policy states if a customer’s car is damaged in any way they must notify head office immediately. We have full and comprehensive insurances to cover any situation that may arise from time to time, just through sheer number of vehicles we touch in any given day, and given employees are only human. So it is not an issue for us to accept liability and move on - it is just good business practice. To remove film from car windows our tinters require the use of a steamer. You expressed to the tinter on the day that you understood he was not to blame for the damage. There is no need for a flat head screw driver. Despite being directed to the store’s designated waiting area/room whilst your car was being stripped, you entered our workshop. Entering and remaining in the workshop overseeing the tinter’s every move is a legitimate OH&S concern for us. Staff and head office do not understand why you are accusing us of this damage. We do not accept liability for this new complaint and for our part the matter is closed. Please do not continue to contact Happy Tint staff about this new matter. Please feel free to contact VCAT should you wish to take this new matter further. You said that have treated my complaints to date with patience and good will that is after coming to the shop, emailing, calling and never getting a respond only after I post a review then you called.... I insisted on a full refund because the workmanship was not good, if you believe that the standard of tint was acceptable then I guess you didn’t see the photos I sent the photos just a few days old and the tint was peeling off and the tint in the boot glass didn’t cover the entire glass. Product is great - but pretty sure its the same material the others use too
The customer service has left - apparently with growth they lost customer service not the installers but the office staff and trying to blame it on being late for my preferred time they set the time not me so hmm. . Very sad had used them three times before, and did have other premises but will use someone else. Customer service from the very top has changed. Only thing going for them is that the installer still knows what customer service is. Dont blame the customer for your changed customer service procedures - return customers speak volumes - sadly you lost this one.

Not so happy tint
Where to start, got the windows tinted on our car. After 2 weeks all the defects did not go away. Called happy tint to book an inspection to have the defects repaired. This is where the problem begin. After some of the rudest customer service possible and a number of visits they agreed to repair the poor tint.
When picking up the car we noticed they had melted the plastics on the internal and external trims. Long story short we asked the the damaged they caused to be fixed. This took 3 months, lie after lie from there manager [name removed] ...Read more
and promise after promise. Towards the end [name removed] was not even man enough to take our calls. If not for louise who seemed to be the one shining star at happy tint I am positive it would have never been fixed. Oh, the replacement tint was worse than the original tint so now we have to pay to have it removed and done all over again. It wont be Happy tint that's for sure. If you do have to deal with this company avoid [name removed] like the plague. Shameful service.Similar opinion? Write a review on ProductReview.com.au!

Nightmare!
I've never gone to the effort to write a bad review about an australian business, the worst experience ever.
The film in all my living room windows has defects from day one, Happy tint came up with all kinds of excuses finally blaming the manufactures...I'm treated like a ball being kicked around. Spoken to Rick who sounded trustworthy at the beginning, spoken to his wife Louise director of the business who now refuse to answer my calls, never trust a husband and wife business, you are both liars.
Have gone to VCAT, Rick or Louise never showed up, thanks to the debt collector Sheriffs who saved my day.

Use another company - get another quote
Unfortunately what I write is fact. Had used Happy Tint in the past and had been happy, as we had another area of our house to tint we decided to use happy tint again. That was our mistake. After an initial bit of confusion a gentleman came and gave a quote and we were all set to have our tint installed, & due to work commitments, had confirmed a 7:30am start. That’s until [name removed] himself phoned us. We had never even spoken to him during this quote/booking phase & he was extremely rude. [name removed] accused us of cancelling previous in...Read more
stallation times, (he clearly had the wrong client), denied our 7:30am installation as a lie as he explained this time is for big jobs they don’t schedule the little people in at that time. When my husband told me that, I said nope - don’t want this business we’ll search else where. When I rang [name removed] to get our deposit back, and I basically served his little people line back at him to identify the client, [name removed] was extremely rude, sarcastic and hung up on me. I ended up ringing the company switch to voice my concern over [name removed] behaviour. After a bit of firm discussion with expectation as to when our deposit would be returned, a few days later I finally spoke to [name removed] who was lovely. I don’t condone [name removed] behaviour in any way shape or form and certainly don’t want his business. When I hear the ad on 3AW it makes my skin crawl because that front is far from reality of who this person is. [name removed], please don’t bother with a reply of apology on [name removed] or Happy Tints behalf, as you were actually lovely to deal with.Similar opinion? Write a review on ProductReview.com.au!

I would not recommend this supplier...
Initial service was excellent - the sales manager and a trainee sales member were great. However, it all went downhill from there. I had to chase the company to arrange a date for the job (still not done, and I will be cancelling my order) on numerous occasions. The excuse was that they were having staff problems. When the owner eventually contacted me, I could understand why. During the course of our conversation, he was rude and condescending, and threatened to "fire" the trainee sales member if they ever "wrote an instruction like that ...Read more
on an order again". I pointed out that in fact, the lead sales manager had been overseeing the quote, and had clearly instructed the trainee on what to write. Three weeks later, I am still waiting for the company to get back to me to schedule the job. Their advertisements certainly over-promise and under-deliver based on my personal experience with Happy Tint.Similar opinion? Write a review on ProductReview.com.au!

Absolute Joke
Got Craig, from Happy Tint out to quote 1 window on 13th November, paid $100 deposit and was told 7-10 days for completion. Rang on 21st to ask what was happening with a time frame was told someone would call me back, 2 days later still no response. A lesson learnt...
Sales rep came out to quote for window tinting. We advised that we were looking to reduce the heat ingress into our upstairs living area. Mr Happy Tint applied a couple of samples to the inside of the double glazed window. Paid our deposit at 4pm on Friday, 2 June 2017. The sunny weather over the weekend indicated that the tint samples were absorbing and drawing the heat into the room – exactly what we didn’t want! inside window panels. Furthermore, we asked if it would be possible to apply a suitable tint to the exterior panel. Our phone call was followed up with an email to HT the following day, Tuesday, 6 June 2017. There was no follow up call or email from HT. When we again contacted Mr Happy Tint, we explained the situation and asked if they would requote for a more suitable product. Mr HT became aggressive and said that the product had already been cut. I seriously doubt that would be the case given that we had paid the deposit late on Friday afternoon and contacted them early on Monday morning. Subsequent conversations with other tinting companies indicated that they only cut the tinting sheets a maximum of 3-days before they install (remember, we had only paid a deposit and had not been given an installation date). We have requested a partial refund of our deposit but there has been no attempt to either contact us or process a refund. Please be very careful when dealing with this company – they are unscrupulous.1 comment

Terrible customer service
The boss came out to quote as per his add, unfortunately that what the only great customer service that I had. The windows were tinted very soon after, we waited the period for the film to do its job, unfortunately it didn't do what the boss had advised it was meant to do. He came out on a Friday afternoon to assess, he wasn't interested as he was going away and said email the office the photo's. I called them as I hadn't received a response. No show....no go
I booked them late last year and they arranged to come early in the morning to pick up my car.
They didn't show up so I called them but the office didn't know anything about my booking. They rang back about 45mins after and said someone would come in 1 hour.
When no one showed up I called them and they said there running a bit late and give it another 30mins.
They still didn't show up, they didn't call or let me know. They rang me the next day to make new arrangements and acted like the day before didn't even happen. I told them to forget about it.
I'm a sub contractor and I lost most the days work mucking around with them. The left hand doesn't know what the rights doing with them.

I had window tinting done by Happy Tint late last year. It was applied to 3 west-facing windows.
Since the film was installed I have had problems with my wi-fi/mobile phone connection. My modem is located near one of the tinted windows. The problem has been investigated by my telco and no issues were found with my phone and it works perfectly when I am away from the house. Has anyone else reported this issue and is there a resolution?

Happy T.Happy Tint
Hi Vicki,
Thanks for the question. We have over 30 years experience in the tinting industry and we have never heard of this issue. Considering around 30% of city buildings around the world have window film applied to windows we believe it would be recognized as a problem by now Purely from a logical perspective it would seem strange that should such a correlation exist, evidence would have emerged and be available to consumers. Hopefully you can work out the mystery :)
