Terrible package, service and shipping
First time order and its terrible. The package was open, the pen was broken and I am still waiting for the other order to arrive and I don’t even want to know the condition that it is going to be. Will never order from Harris Scarfe even if is free. Very disappointed. And there is no phone number to call but only email.

Bought a set of Salter dual pour kitchen scales reduced from 79.95 to 34.95 only to discover the same product is offered full price at the Good Guys for 29.95. I will never trust pricing at Harris Scarf again.
Online shopping problems
We purchased five items online totalling over $400. We received one item soon after in the post. It was a towel that we had ordered - only 1 of 2 that were ordered. Then we received an email the following day stating that the rest of our order was on the way, which was okay - we didn't mind that they split the order. However, we received a huge box in the post today - really excited that we were going to have the rest of our order, we opened it only to find 4 pillows, a sheet set and a quilt cover - every item we did NOT order. Apparently t...hey have sent the wrong order. What's more, the order we were sent was well under the price we had paid. We are now left wondering who may have received our order. The correct tax invoice was enclosed with our purchases clearly listed. We went to two Harris Scarfe stores with the huge box to see if we could do anything but were told both times to contact the customer service number on the invoice. We had already tried that, but it's Saturday and they don't take calls until Monday. After reading all of the bad reviews here, I would suggest that they have a 24 hour hotline. We will try calling them on Monday to rectify this, but I honestly don't know if I would trust purchasing anything online from this retailer again. I understand human error so I'll put it off to someone just making a mistake this time, but the convenience of ordering online is optimal for my husband and I as we work late every day and simply don't have time to pop into the nearest shop.
Late order, tag still attached!
Order was split in two for some reason. Second half (hoodie) arrived THREE weeks late and required signature while the first half did not. Why? On top of this, the hoodie had the anti theft tag still attached! Not seeing this, i washed the thing, fortunately it did not break to ruin all my clothes in the washing machine. Eventually i watched a video on how to remove it and did so. I will complain of course because this is appalling.

Rubbish return policy
I accidentally purchased the wrong pillows, I was supposed to buy classic dunlop pillows but instead grabbed the high profile one, I purchased two at $79 each. I used them that night with a pillow case and was very uncomfortable as they are for larger people, my wife also complained. We took them out of the pillow cases and back into the plastic covers. When I tried to take them back a few days later I was refused to exchange. I can understand why but as a male I don’t buy bedding very often and was surprised at the lack of communication around...their return policy regarding pillows. I feel their policy could be communicated in the pillow area but it isn’t, perhaps tell customers at the counter, but I wasnt. When I complained to the store manager [name removed] at the Southland store he was rude and pointed to their return policy which says I have 28 days to return items, I’ll leave a photo if I can. I would like to help Harris Scarfe to improve this experience but I have to e mail them and I’m off overseas today. Anyway for all those pillow buyers, put a pillow case over the plastic bag and try it for one night first. I just wasted 160 bucks at Harris Scarfe but at least I can donate the pillows to a good charity I suppose.

10 customers in the queue with 1 staff on register who was rude
Waiting in a queue of about ten customer with ONE checkout person. Took her 5 minutes to make an announcement asking for help. When a customer in the queue said “I was just going to ask you to call for help” the service woman looked disgusted with no response. Unacceptable unprofessional and unnecessary. On the receipt it said [name removed] 2082 at forest hill Victoria. I expect a response to this.
The staff at top ryde store are so Rude. I asked a young girl if she could check a price for me and she yelled back saying shes fixing the cupboard and told me to wait.
Anyways I waited and walked to the check out with her and I asked if she had any more electric blanket online.
She yelled back saying it's in stock, so I asked if asking if there is a shipping fee and she didnt know, so I ask her to ask her manager.
Her manger came out n I said that I think her staff is having a bad day and that she shouldnt take it out on the custome...rs. Then the staff was yelling saying I accused her for being dumb because she didnt know the shipping fee cost. The manager was more funny because he was yelling out calm down to both of us when I was just standing there. Terrible service

Customer Service. The customer is always right (Not).
I purchased a toaster and jug; a set in separate boxed advertised on sale out the front of the store in separate boxes 2 1/2 weeks ago. Used both for one week. Toaster was faulty so rang the store on 6/9 explained the situation and was told by the staff member I could bring in for a credit with my receipt. I did so this afternoon only to be put down and made to feel humiliated by the store manager. They would not credit both items as I was told by the staffer the day before. Awful experience and I would not recommend this store at all. I had to...ld the staff member both items had been used, i had my receipt but was told they weren’t a set even though they actually are in separate boxes. Extremely hurt and frustrated and wont shop there again and will prewarn all my friends not to shop there.
I purchased 4 items on line only received 1 (credited for 3 but I paid 10.00 for postage when the item cost 4.95). I wouldn't have bothered. If items are not available don't post them on line. Very poor service Harris Scarfe.
Two separate deliveries, two faulty products!
Brought a Pursonic LED Kettle which arrived and did not work, it did not switch on in fact the switch was broken. Then waited for the second part of our order a Russell Hobbs Heritage Vogue Toaster, it finally arrived. When I took the box out of the delivery box the tamper seal had been broken on the toaster box, this indicated this was not a new toaster. When we went to remove the toaster from the box it had finger prints and scratches all over it. The buttons were dirty, not sure if this was a return to the shop or the display model. However,...when I buy something I expect a brand new, unopened product not something stuffed into a box and Harris Scarfe pretend it is new. Poor Form. This is the last time we shop from them as we have now had three bad online orders from them all returned.
Disappointing customer service
I bought a multicooker and when I got it home the recipe book wasn't in box. When I rang the store, their response was they would photocopy a book but I had to go back to the store to get it. As I'm an hour away from the store I don't think this is good enough-I asked if it could be emailed or posted out but this was met with a no.
Do not use the online service.
I ordered a number of products online from Harris Scarfe. All of the products were showing as available online when I placed the order. By ordering 4 products I was averaging the mail cost as Harris Scarfe uses a fixed price mailing cost. 3 days later I was informed one product was not available. A further 5 days later informed another product was not avaible. The postage on remaining products was starting to become very expensive per item. The email indicating the products had been shipped was not for 8 days after my order. If they wait 8 da...ys before shipping, products will always become unavailable. Even if they do not ship immediately, why don't they use a stock control system that reserves the products when ordered. Do not use their online service, it is not up to the standard of others operating in the online sales arena.
Terrible Customer Service, lack of quality control
I ordered items online on 17th April received one item but no indication why the 2nd item wasn't in parcel. Phoned Customer Service & apparently 2nd item being sent from another store. Would have be nice if an email had been sent so I didn't have to chase this up myself.
Thursday 3rd May received 2nd item which was not what had been ordered & paid for, in fact was cheaper than item ordered.
Phoned Customer Service again, was informed had to return to Elizabeth SA & request item be sent that was actually ordered.

Very slow online service
I ordered some clothes online on 26th April- still waiting for delivery. The website said 5- 10 days. Have phoned customer service twice. They don't know why I haven't received the parcel- and can't tell me where the parcel is. Pity. Won't be shopping online again with Harris Scarfe
Too bad customer service
Today, 22nd April 2018, I went to Tarneit harris scarfe store along with my little one 1.5 years old. I took the Scanpan commercial stainless steel frypan 30cm to the counter and presented my harris scarfe value plus card and $25 Bonus Gift Card. There are two lady's at the counter and both of them don't know how to operate. By the way, this is first time I am using this harris scarfe card. Then they have called a 3rd lady and she doesn't know either. Then they have called up 4th lady and at last she tried to do some thing. Then she called up t...he harris scarfe customer service and they wants to authorise me over the phone which I did at last(my little one is crying and all this took around 15 to 20 mins) and all good. Then the scanpan is now for $64.95. On my $25 Bonus Gift card, the terms 1st point says "Present this $25 Gift card and receive an extra $25 off your first Purchase with your Harris Scarfe Value plus card". So, As this is my first purchase by using the Value Plus card, I should be getting a total of $50 off and I should be paying only $14.95 for the item. But the lady over the counter said, it's only $25 off and not $50 off. I again told her to read the first point and she said the same again. As my little one is crying, I just left the store without buying anything. Then after I came back home, I called the customer service on 1300 131 444 and they spoke to me for about 55 mins over the phone and still didn't resolved my problem. The lady first said from the 1st point on the Bonus gift card, it actually should be $50 off, but again she said let me check with her manager and after checking with her manager and again spoken to the Tarneit store, she said they still need to check the promotion which applied to my card and one of their team member will call me tomorrow to address the issue. As they have literally taken more than 1 and 1/2 hours of my time, and they literally annoyed me so much, i demanded that i should be getting the item that i am buying for free. Lets see what reply I will be getting from them tomorrow. Now on 23rd April 2018, a staff from the harris scarfe customer service called me and again keep discussing about the same points and no resolution yet. Another 10 mins of time. I asked her how much more time i need to spend discussing on this to have the resolution and she said the next call will be the final with the resolution.

Misleading delivery time
I ordered 3 items on line on 2 April. Delivery times state 5-10 business days. After 10 days and no delivery I contacted customer service and was eventually advised my order was not despatched until 14 April! This order was for a gift and required for today 19 April. Needless to say it has not arrived. To add insult to injury I have been offered free delivery on my next order under $150 by way of compensation. As if I would place any further orders !!!
On the plus side all of my in store experiences have been very good.
Lay by Fees disgusting
I recently got a lay-by and was told there was a $6 fee. This is absolutely disgusting. The lay-by is for 8 weeks. It is no wonder people are using after pay and other pay later schemes. You may as well use a credit card if you are going to charged this absorbent fee. Its pretty awful considering the whole point of lay by is because the shopper can't afford to pay for the purchase all at once.
Online orders always incorrect
Firstly let me say, I do like Harris Scarfe’s. I like the selection of goods in all departments and shop there often especially when the sales are on because the products are very reasonably priced. However online shopping is another story... since updating their website it is impossible to keep items in your bag and I recently spent half a day placing items again and again back in the bag. Finally it worked! I received the items only to find the security tag was left in a pair of jeans. Grrr. I rang (and then had to ring back because no one re...turned my call) and was given the option to drive 40 minutes to my nearest store or send them back. I explained that the items was bought and needed for the next day (weekend) but no one cared. Previously (a few weeks earlier) I purchased a sports jumper and after 10 days of receiving not even an email I had to call them only to find it had not even been sent! The lady I spoke to assured me she would do her best to have it found in the qld store and sent the next day.
POOR STORE POLICY
I spent a long time picking a handbag which the sign said this brand was marked 40% OFF. There were 6 or seven of the same bag marked the same price as mine. When Igot to the register I did not get my 40%off as the girl said the bags had been marked incorrectly. I argued very politley if thats what the bags are marked at thats what i should pay .She said the store reserves the right to remove my bag and the other bags for sale.I came away with no bag and no faith in this store which by the way was Fountain Gate. VERY VERY VERY POOR
