Carefully weigh up the after-care plan offered
Salesperson attempted to sell me an aftercare plan for an additional 2 years for a laptop (on top of the standard one) for $350 and brought up a page showing that the expected life of the laptop battery is 2.5 years; what the salesperson didn't bring up from his online "research" findings was that the cost of the online battery is only around $90. Salespeople at HN are vey pushy on the aftercare plan and I am suspecting this is where their best margins are at. I'm also aware of retail margins and I do sincerely doubt the salesperson claim that the price I got for the laptop (77% of the retail price) was "below cost". I don't expect to get a product at below cost so why the need to lie?

Poorly excuse for a Harvey Norman store
Went into my local HN store to buy a printer I saw on sale online and yep you guessed it, not only does my local store think they are too good to stock sale items, they won't order anything in and nor do they keep accessories for the printers, we all know every printer you buy you need to buy a separate cable and they sell the printers but no cables, so I asked can you order a cable in but no they don't even keep them as part of their normal range, so how does it work out that you can buy a printer but you can't buy the cord, it's like selling ...printers buy not selling the ink to go with it, it's just poor management and poor planning, really my local store is small but still how much room does a printer cable take on the shelf or wall, super disappointed and annoyed and hence I didn't end up buying anything because they never had what I wanted and the range of products is quite inadequate.

Dandenong store laptop section staff too hard sell
I bought a laptop, the staff kept persuading me to buy their product care although he offered quite attractive price. I was still very polite to him but actually I felt very annoyed. When I asked him about refund policy, he avoided answering and kept on talking about the product care insurance. Next time, I will go to other stores.
Selling underspeced items!!
Bough a Lenovo idea centre 27 at hoppers crossing store. Specs were i7, 1Tb harddrive with windows home for $2600. After coming home while registering the product the warranty it showed for 9 months only. Also the same product listed on Lenovo.com for less price and also the spec was 1Tb +2b hard drive with windows professional. basically looks like Harvey norman is underspecing the items and then selling for higher price. Not happy with the purchase!!

HARVEY NORMAN I bought a $2000 plus laptop and whilst I was contemplating which one the sales staff were highly attentive and sold me extra programs and hardware etc. One week later I returned as I wasn’t familiar with the software and they were too busy to help me. I tried once more and got brushed off with minimal effort.

Sales Girl Poonam - Aggressive sales tactic
At Hobart Store. Poonam spent an hour with aggressive sales tactic - pressured to get product care with scare tactics & promises. Once $3,400 was paid it took 4 trips to get everything!!! Disappointed!
Great product BUT sales staff, PAY ATTENTION to the little things!!!
Fortitude Valley Harvey Norman were holding a sale item hand held steamer for me whilst locating the mislaid box and attachments and were to contact me once found.
The following week I was back in the store purchasing a new Hisence 43 P1 & tripod stand so inquired about the steamer. I was blatantly told they sold it to another customer whose name was first on the list. I question why it was on the shelf being the last one if another customer had an option on it? A sales lady blatantly stood in front of a manager (who approached me to find o...ut which staff were responsible) and repeated I was not entitled to the steamer. The manner in which this was handled was most uncomfortable and unsatisfactory. After assembling the fabulous and attractive TV on tripod I realised the salesman was so intent on securing the additional insurance premium for the TV (which I declined) he didn't remind me to purchase the very necessary connection cable. Remember, no matter how wonderful the tripod & 4K Hisense are ... just a little more thoughtful genuine attention and service from Harvey Norman for an inexpensive cable cord would have meant I wouldnt need to pop into JB HiFi the following day.

Bad Customer Service
Bought Vitamix E310 on 11/08/19 at Nunawading, Sales person [name removed] was very attentive, the product was out of stock and checked that Fountaingate store had stock. Paid and advised that product can be collected at Fountain Gate store on 12/08 at 12pm onwards. Went to Fountaingate store the next day at 3pm. [name removed] (Sales person) informed that they could not processed the order as have not receive any invoice yet from Nunawading store. I asked him to contact Nunawading store but refused and make excuse that they are not connected t...o each other as they are franchise store. and asked me to call directly which pissed me off. Still refused to call, did not want to create drama so i called Nunawading store, which they put on hold for quite some time. After speaking to the sales person there, then he offer help to speak to the sales person. After waiting for 20 min then he process the order. Is this kind of service that what Harvey Norman offers? I will never buy at HN again.
staff recommended me to go to service station and to pay for the inspection of appliance which is already under warranty, wrong guidance. Liverpool Harvey is willing to replace product straight away.
A shame they think they are Car Salesman
Went looking for a more than basic Laptop computer had a lot of questions, which a Junior Staffer was handling, we opted to keep looking, he went away to serve another customer. We then had decided on our purchase and was waiting for him, when a senior staffer came over & took over, and when the Junior Staffer returned, he waived him away, and he looked not happy. This left a very sour taste in our mouths and within an hour of purchasing wished we had rejected the senior staffer, and waited until the Junior was ready, but the Senior was very intimidating & also towards the Junior Staffer. Very poor, and feel will not use Harvey Norman again, if this is how staff are treated.
Item was too expensive compared to other suppliers
The young handsome sales person very politely told me that I couldn't afford what I was looking at buying. He was very knowledgable about the industry and his people skills were absent. I left the store un happy.
