Non-transparent Returns Policy
I went to purchase at Harvey Norman Osborne Park. I asked if I could return the item for change of mind and the woman serving me gave me a very unclear answer. Another two different answers were given from the manager and another sales person that I consulted. The reason why I was asking was last time I was told that it would be no problem to return for change of mind but when I brought it back the next day with the box and all, the sales assistant actually complained to my face about it. I also went to purchase an electric blanket from the...small electrical and was told I could return it no problem for change of mind but was told in the bedding section that I was not able to return electric blankets. Only to be told that it was a franchise and that different owners owned different parts of the store. Fine if they were trading under different names but not if it is the one store. The sales person also denied that there ever items were able to be returned for change of mind but I know that I have done so in the past 6 months. I asked him if their policy had changed and he just denied that that was ever the case. I would avoid purchasing from this or any franchised store. They cannot be following the policies of Fair Trading if they aren't making it clear what their returns policy actually is. Consumer Law is quite clear in stating that what the information that a sales person gives is a binding agreement. If they cant give you a straight yes or no or there are different answers given in different departments of the same store, what are they really trying to hide as this is a very straight forward question?

It is a great prduct
It was fairly easy to find what I was looking for. Not much to choose from with what u was looking for. Love the product works great
Great place but salesman a wee bit pushy
So much to choose from. It can become very confusing. Booval Harvey Normans is a very well kept, clean store. Needed a laptop for business purposes. I liked what I ended up with but felt like I didn't have a choice. Went way over budget, but that's my fault. Had told the salesman what I wanted to spend, but was shown things all more expensive. But still happy with my purchase.
I have purchased four smart TVs within 3 years from Harvey Norman. Service was great ! And good quality of product highly recommend Samsung smart TVs easy to set up apps for your Netflix or YouTube account for the kids high definition good sound. I have no defaults on this product at all

Great offer, friendly sales person & super helpful delivery drivers
Being stuck and not able to purchase the TV for my house during lockdown, I called the store for the store only purchase. The sales person was very friendly, supportive and helped me purchase the TV as well as a Sonos device. I got a call back to ensure that an item not being in stock after all was delivered at a later point in time.
Not even 24h later my TV was delivered and the drivers were super friendly, too. All in all a very pleasant experience that makes me check with the Harvey Norman Sales people in store first, when thinking about future purchases.
Thanks to the friendly Sales person & drivers.
Carefully weigh up the after-care plan offered
Salesperson attempted to sell me an aftercare plan for an additional 2 years for a laptop (on top of the standard one) for $350 and brought up a page showing that the expected life of the laptop battery is 2.5 years; what the salesperson didn't bring up from his online "research" findings was that the cost of the online battery is only around $90. Salespeople at HN are vey pushy on the aftercare plan and I am suspecting this is where their best margins are at. I'm also aware of retail margins and I do sincerely doubt the salesperson claim that the price I got for the laptop (77% of the retail price) was "below cost". I don't expect to get a product at below cost so why the need to lie?
Had many purchases within the past 20 years from their Whangarei store.
Bought Computer, Photo, Electronics.
After having been caught with some very poor quality items from their furniture department in recent years, I have stopped visiting Harvey Norman
Poorly excuse for a Harvey Norman store
Went into my local HN store to buy a printer I saw on sale online and yep you guessed it, not only does my local store think they are too good to stock sale items, they won't order anything in and nor do they keep accessories for the printers, we all know every printer you buy you need to buy a separate cable and they sell the printers but no cables, so I asked can you order a cable in but no they don't even keep them as part of their normal range, so how does it work out that you can buy a printer but you can't buy the cord, it's like selling ...printers buy not selling the ink to go with it, it's just poor management and poor planning, really my local store is small but still how much room does a printer cable take on the shelf or wall, super disappointed and annoyed and hence I didn't end up buying anything because they never had what I wanted and the range of products is quite inadequate.

Dandenong store laptop section staff too hard sell
I bought a laptop, the staff kept persuading me to buy their product care although he offered quite attractive price. I was still very polite to him but actually I felt very annoyed. When I asked him about refund policy, he avoided answering and kept on talking about the product care insurance. Next time, I will go to other stores.
