HN are very selective on what reviews they publish on their webpage
So now it looks like they're keeping brands happy by filtering the reviews on their webpage, seriously!
I bought a keyboard mouse combo in store, the sales lady (while lovely) didn't know much about the product and basically read the box in answer to my questions. I decided to try it out and bought the combo package to find it's not working as expected with dropouts and lagging performance.
I left an honest review on the HN page. I've since found out this is a known issue with logitech items and left my view that the keyboard doesn't operate ...as expected and my old $10 kmart keyboard was doing a better job. I've been emailed to tell me "Our staff have read your review on the logitech mk270r wireless keyboard and mouse combo. We value your contribution but unfortunately it did not meet all our review guidelines." If guidelines include not telling customers exactly what happens with certain products they are not showing clear and unbiased opinions ... I was not told what guidelines this review failed to meet was it the fact I mentioned a kmart keyboard???? ""doesn't work well with mac mini m1 bought this set to replace kmart keyboard and plugin HP mouse. The mouse is useless, it jumps around the screen unpredictably, the keyboard is laggy and doesn't respond as well as my $10 kmart bluetooth keyboard that is on it's last legs.""
After years of loyalty, never again
I have been a loyal customer of Harvey Norman for at least 15 years and have bought furniture, appliances including multiple microwaves, fridges, ovens, kettles, range hoods…including everything for a townhouse development I have just completed.
Yesterday I purchased 2 monitors and an Apple TV box. Got home and had a call from HN - wrong box. Had to go all the way back to change it.

Lenovo laptop not without issues
First Lenovo laptop purchased was impossible to use. After returning it 3 times the technician discovered it was missing the motherboard. Laptop replaced, the next one much better but does tend to freeze quite regularly and have to take it in for technical help already.
Samsung Galaxy 3 Smart Watch
I needed some help with my Samsung tablet settings, a tablet which I bought in a Telstra store. I was instead referred to the nearest Samsung store (Thanks Telstra!), which turned out to be Harvey Norman. Well, Telstra sent me straight into the lion's den! H.N. fixed my issue alright but gullible me walked out of there with a super crappy deal on the Samsung Galaxy 3 Smart Watch. Those charming salespeople convinced me that I got myself a really good deal, taking a "generous $200 off and with an 'attractive' package deal with Optus" (they act a...s an Optus dealer), in order to run the watch effectively with a fall detection option. (You guessed it; I have been young for a very very long time!) I am usually super cautious with instant purchases, preferring to check things out on the net and compare prices first. In this instance, I did it last and got a bad surprise! The watch had a price tag of $799, as I said with a 'generous' $200 off. The trouble was that the same watch sells for $347.99 at Kogan (cheapest, when comparing with the more reputable companies, you may get it even cheaper). When I rang Samsung, they explained that I didn't necessarily need to connect the watch to an internet provider, I could choose a trusted person who would be sent an alarm, in case of a fall. I reversed the sale the next day and cancelled my Optus contract. How is that for being taken for a ride?! My head is still spinning! The issue is now with the Telecommunications Ombudsman and things are not looking good. I thought that I customers have a "purchase cooling off period"; apparently that is not necessarily so! Groan!
Bad customer service dealing with iphone repairs/replacement
Took 4 weeks to replace my iphone! ? Harvey Norman senior management need to train their staff in customer service and get back to client when they say they will! Client should not have to phone constantly to get updates on service.
With a bit of trouble came through with my claim.
If you have to get an assessment done on a faulty item make sure the person doesn’t put the word “broken” in the assessment as it will be possibly assumed you broke it not that the item is just not functioning.
I never perches anything from Harvey Norman anymore
I have disappointed with the customer service, they don’t have no information about their products and I will never go back there and perches anything from them, they could not solve my problem and didn’t care about their costume, and I have been purchasing 33 years from them but could not help me. So disappointed and disgusted with them.
Horrible, won't be shopping there again!
Extremely unhappy with service, bought a new sound bar, was talked into buying the best, within a couple of weeks the item was faulty and returned, we were chasing the item weekly for 6 weeks with no answers, and no offer of compensation or apology just excuses and playing the blame game, left a review on harvey Norman, was phoned minutes later and abruptly told to come and get a refund today, asked if we could have it exchanged, and was told no just come and get your refund.
The store was rude, and abrupt and after 6 weeks of having not had the item we purchased we are back to where we started with no compensation or even an apology. Stay away from Harvey Norman Bairnsdale
Disgusting customer service Horrible owners
After purchasing a new pc and printer I also paid for my old pc to get cleared, updated, and fixed all went well till pick up when the serviceman tripped and smashed my computer to pieces in front of me. Then I had to deal with Greedy horrible Harvey Norman Nowra computer section owner. He proceeded to offer me a used computer from his photo lab which had been decommissioned due to renovation and upgrade. After much debate back and forth he basically said like it or lump it, so I accepted his offer hoping it was in good faith, the first mistake.... We asked for some kind of in-store warranty the answer was no. To cut a long story short after turning it on twice and this was also during covid lockdown it blew up. I took it back to Harvey Norman Nowra it was assessed and if I was told if I wanted it repaired the owner said I would have to pay for the part the shipping and the repair. I have purchased a lot from this store and a lot from the computer section of this store I will never shop there again!
Return process for a faulty monitor
I bought a computer monitor online and paid for delivery as I am on crutches. (Apparently the Maribyrnong store is the only one I can return it to which is an hour drive)
I set it up and it has a dead pixel in the middle of the screen. I called the store asking if they can deliver another and swap it as I paid for delivery and can't physically come in. They said no, ok fine that's understandable.
The guy said just bring it in and we'll swap it on the spot no issues.
2 weeks later when I can finally drive again but explained it's v...ery tricky for me to travel, I was about to drive my wife who doesn't drive and she would carry the monitor in and swap it. Lucky I called to check if they had stock! They said no you have to bring it in and they'll send it away for 1 week to get analysed and then I have to come back a week later to get my refund or replacement. I said as well as being without my monitor for a week I use for work, multiple trips are just too much for me after my operation and please help me and find a way for me to make the trip just the once, they said no they can't help and the process is their process. I guess I'm keeping the monitor with the dead pixel...... Not buying Harvey Norman again

Refused to provide a refund for a falsely advertised item
My partner bought me a digital photo frame as a Christmas present. Come to find that the frame doesn't read USB flash drives over 64Gb, which was not stated anywhere on the product. Harvey Norman (HN) refused to offer a refund. Their claim was because there was nothing wrong with the product in their view, they could not send it back to the manufacturer, and because they had no box for it they couldn't resell it either.
My partner bought from HN specifically for the convenience of being able to sort out issues such as these in person, as oppos...ed to dealing with online retailers with offshore customer service centres and postages, which were cheaper. But having gone through this experience we have no incentive to go back to HN -- we'll just buy online for cheaper and receive the same (if not better) customer service. You would expect a bricks and mortar retailer with stiff online competition to take a small loss in order to keep a customer, prevent them from posting negative reviews on the internet and prevent them from sharing their experience with friends and family. In the long run, this experience will cost them far more than what the photo frame was worth not only in terms of money but reputation as well. Wrong way to do business in today's world!
Useless tech service
Bought a laptop , it was having battery issues and was informed that I had to take it to Apple directly as they were the manufacturer , lie number 1.
[name removed] the tech guy doesn’t have an idea of policies and even the apple dude I took it to said that Harvey Norman Warrawong were shirking their responsibilities.
Came back to Harvey Norman with info from apple that it had nothing to do with them and again the useless [name removed] advised that they needed to have a tech report from apple to make sure it had no water damage. So again I ...

on the 26/11 I brought online the JBL Flip5, I collected it at Harvey Norman Cairns - 101 Spence St, and when I got home, I opened the product, it was supposed to be black as I ordered online but it was a green unit, the colour actually did not bothered me but after using it, every 45 minutes - 1 hours, it disconnects from the Bluetooth (mobile phone or laptop) so on the 27/11 I tried returning it and got informed from an employee [Name Removed] (apparently the manager) that he could not refund me as the product is not the same colour as it should be, his worlds were "I can do nothing as this is not the product we gave to you".
It has been 3 weeks now and not a single email or phone call about it.

Poor customer service
My friend purchased a modem. I looked at the box, ( unopened) and I felt it was a lower quality modem and decided to return it for a better model. Refused to take it back. Refused to let me upgrade. Just overall not nice person . Lesson learner, buy somewhere else.

I have bought online a screen with a good discount (on the website) but it turns to be more expensive than all other shops (after the claimed discount), couldn't blame them as this is capitalism anyways and I really cared more about the specs but you should be aware of that if you care about 'honest' discount offers, recieved it 3 weeks later (well, its covid era, we can wait, its not an emergency supplies and maybe the ship is facing the holly winds and didn't reach the borders on time), then all after this waiting period, I got the screen whi...ch was great except it got a killing feature, I can't mount it on desk and I don't havw enough space on desk so that was a bad design in this model and I needed to change it even if I will pay a higher price but couldn't find a better one with the specs I need (they sell only 3/4brands for that model) so I went to the shop and asked politely if I can return it, and they said why? I said it doesnt have a mount option which is I really need so the floor manager plus the store manager and others were like (but no screen got moint options, so I pointed to the screen they scan things at and said what about these ones?) so they said well we mean we dont sell any screen with mount options, then I showed them a less expensive one at their 'own' shop which got the option, so they said in very rude way we dont accept returning any opened products, although I closed the screen and it got no scratch and even the box was closed correctly, so I told them all that and they were like (no, you can complain or use other shops to buy next time which accept a return policy, so I smiled and was like wow, and the guy continued 'I mean I NEVER seen anyone who buy a pc screen then return it, who does that', and this is not the first experience, I got other experience with different product but thought at time it was a considence, it turns to be a culture thing and look at all other reviews, what drove me to write this reveiw, I seen they won the worst customer experience this year as well which means it is not considence, they are truly bad/over priced shops
