Online support
Worst online customer support. The 'support' is also talking to many other complainers and answers you once every five minutes. Complaints section is even worse, two weeks for an answer that doesn't address the complaint...on two occasions.

Bad Customer Service
I went into the Taree Harvey Norman to purchase quite a few expensive products. For the first time, my partner was busy working so I went in by myself. I was ignored by every single staff member on the floor (electrical department dominated by male staff). Not one staff member acknowledged me. After 10 minutes I approach the service desk and am told that sorry I can't help, you'll have to wait for the computer staff. 10 minutes later, I am finally acknowledged by someone at the computer service desk. I know that I'm young and I'm female but I s...
Read moreeriously feel like I was ignored intentionally here. Your customer service has a lot of improving to do Harvey Norman Taree. I was considering buying a new ensemble through you guys but I think I'll take my business elsewhere.BrettR

Samsung home theatre system (Frankston Store)
Purchased this system early December from Frankston store. After one week began freezing when playing CD's and DVD's. Called Harvey Norman and they said I couldn't swap over the unit for another one. They said I had to call the Samsung customer support line and arrange repair of the unit myself. Also bought a HD TV at the same time. Thanks for the great service!

Over charged
Over charged at the check out in the Boxing Day frenzy - Did not get charged the advertised price - did not notice until I was home
At least they are consistent.
I'm I NZ and just experiencing HN's after sales service for the first time.
They are good sales people but seem to lack a bit of training when it comes to putting things right.
My five week old amplifier has developed a problem and when I tried to explain it to the staff it was clear that they weren't interested in my problem. I've finally convinced them to take it back for repair.
I can't understand why it's so hard for them. I'm claiming under the manufacturers warranty.
I've bought a lot of gear from them over the years but I'm not so sure now.
its alright
i dunno if its the best place to go if your looking for a store like this. the customer service isnt great and their ads are horrendous. and everything is over priced.
Sales guy sold the wrong product
I had done the research on purchasing a new Samsung tablet. I had decided on the one I wanted knew how much it was and had it all online. My partner went in to get the tablet. Said I wanted the latest one, size etc and price. The guy in the store who shall remain nameless said that they had nothing in their online catalogue with that price?!? I had seen it many times. My partner called me and I even sent a screen shot over to him. My partner not aware of differences was convinced to buy the wrong thing. We figured that what we wanted the Samsung s2 was out of stock but this guy wanted a commission or whatever bonus they get for sales so took advantage of his lack of knowledge and sold him the tab a. Now have to return it.
Don't buy online from Harvey Norman
We bought a laptop online from HN and then, when it turned out to be much poorer quality than advertised on their website, they basically told us we should have come into a store to check it out before we bought it. Why have an online store if they themselves don't even believe it's a safe way to buy a product?

Bad customer service
Went to Harvey Norman today at Campbelltown to buy an electric shaver. Price on the website was $69 store price $59. Went to the counter, girl was too busy talking to other employees , then gave me the wrong price for the product. When I corrected her another employee checked on e computer what it was, which is what I said it was. Girl on the till did not apologise. Sloppy service!

Cannot stop Harvey Norman giving false information!
I have a really strange issue!!!
I am retired and live in the hills just outside of Adelaide in South Australia, but every month I get a phone call/s on my mobile phone from Harvey Norman clients in Sydney's northern suburbs wanting to know when I will be delivering an item purchased from a Harvey Norman Sydney store!
Each time I could simply say 'wrong number'......and for a while I did. But it happened so often, and these people no doubt deserve better than that. So each time I explain to the person on the other end of the phone that I hav...

Well, guess what, the calls have stopped.....I have not had one for three months now. It has at last sunk in that they are not just mucking their clients and me around, it is also putting them to more...
Read more work dealing with angry customers. I still find it hard to believe that it took four years to get someone in the Harvey Norman organisation to straighten out such a simple issue....It was just an incorrect phone number, not a collapsed bloody building!! Oh well, this issue has taught me the only way to deal with Harvey Norman is to research, and know what you want, buy it off the shelf, pay for it there and then and leave! Anything that requires the intervention of staff decision making is an absolute no-no. Aahh, It's so good to be the master of my own phone again!I can't believe it...the gremlins are back again!!! I have had two calls in the past week for....you guessed it, customers requiring furniture deliveries from Harvey Norman in North Sydney.
Each time ...
Delivery delay
I purchased a TV set from Harvey Norman Sunshine last year. Got told it will be delivered within 2 weeks. It didn't happen. We had to wait longer than 2 weeks. Rude customer service people when you're doing your follow up. Sales people are enthusiastic but as soon it's a done deal, you're on your own. It's like begging for something you're paying for!!
Last week, we needed a fridge and this is a necessity. When talking to the Salesman I told him this can't be delayed because we badly need it. I told him about the previous delivery issues we ...
Read morehad and I don't want that to happen again. He assured us delivery will only take a week. Ok, it's Thursday now and they still haven't got the fridge in-store. IF they get it tomorrow (Friday), then it might get delivered to us. so IF they don't get it, we then have to wait til next week. Not a happy customer! If they don't get this right this time, this will be my last purchase from Harvey Norman. I'll warn my friends about this because Harvey Norman service is really disappointing!! Great product range, terrible customer service. I'm sure a lot of customers will agree. Harvey Norman, hire customer oriented staff please.2 comments

Misleading , deceptive practices.
Purchased 2 laptops having placed a deposit. Went 2 weeks later to pick up and pay remainding amount as indicated on the receipt only to be told that the amount will be changed to extra 200.00 as 1 of the laptops is no longer on sale. Deceptive and misleading as the franchise altered the amount on my receipt. At no stage was I informed about the laptop required to be paid in full prior to sale ending. Since when can you alter the price on your receipt once a payment has been made?

I ordered some earphones from the online store, but when I received the email confirmation of the order the delivery address was slightly different from that which I had typed in.
And I called them...
Their customer service was just bad. I was passed from the first guy to another before being told that the online team weren't available and I should call back tomorrow. (For an ONLINE team, but ok.)
Called again the next day, no one was rude to me, but I explained my situation no less than six times as I was passed round the houses.

Call centre doesn't call back
I had occasion to ring their Customer Service Centre and received many "your call is important to us" messages. They also gave me my place in the queue and expected wait time, but each time the message recycled, the wait time took on a life of it's own, even though my no in the queue was the same. It was 3 minutes then 15 minutes, then 2 minutes, then 20 minutes. I just hung in there and managed to talk to someone.
Next time I called, because the store they sent my order to knew norhing about it, I used their "keep your number in the queue a...
Read morend we'll call you back when you get to No1 option". Guess what - they never called back. Had a quick look online and this seems to be par for the course. Now I have discovered they have a live chat page. I used that and, apart from getting my problem resolved speedily, I (and they) have it all in writing. So give the call centre a miss. Oh, and if I hear Gerry complain about people shopping overseas again, I'll just smile. C'mon Gerry. It's a joke
Took back 2 month old HP laptop to H/N as it has a glitch or quiet possibly a faulty keyboard or Tabs key, as a computer technician acquaintance pointed out what most likely was the problem. As this was the display model it is quiet possible that anything could have happened to it while in the store. On talking to the H/N staff in charge of Warranty claims and problems and describing the problem in detail, they said "sounds like a virus to me" in which my response was it is not a virus. Lap top was screened with the latest and best scanning sof...
Read moretware but still they said could be a virus. There response to my problem was, "we can take the laptop and reset (back to factory) for you and this way if there is a virus it will kill it and if the problem remains then it is obviously a hard wear or other defect in which the warranty will cover, then proceeded to say we can do this for you but will cost $150. I proceeded to say your kidding me aren't you as i can do this myself which the Windows 8 Recovery is designed to do with just one click. You serious? charging $150 to push a button, what an absolute joke if not closer to criminal. They admitted to me that yes in fact we (they) are charging $150 to do just that, push a button and then sit back and wait while the software returns to factory settings. Well i went home and reset the laptop and still has the glitch so as suspected, no virus and is a hard wear problem. How many people that are not PC savvy get stung with this scam to suck money from customers, ide hate to think just how many. This is just plain theft either way you look at it, not impressed.1 comment

Got this 'sub B' grade Gaming computer as a THIRD replacement for what was originally purchased- PRYON -G7244 for $6000. It worked great. Ran top grade Sims at @ Hi Fidelity + 4 screens but two units did not last 12 months. At both those intervals, Harvey Norman SHOULD have hooked me up with Pryon, for an exact replacement under normal FAIR TRADE sale agreements. Instead, HN 'Product Care' smelt an easy dollar and have obviously claimed that warranty for me... TWICE.
Now, after another 5 and a half weeks waiting, they have sent me thi...

The company will vary from store to store and so will the people you have to deal with.
I purchased a very large smart tv which was good but i wanted a sound bar, i was told because of a stock take they could not transfer the item from another store, if i was able to get both items at once i would of got back 400 dollars in cash in my hand. You see they did not have the sound bar for the tv
But because a certian sales person just would not allow it he was not the manager, any way after speaking with the manager and having to go to another sto...

Wrong Information Told
Purchase a laptop was told by the assistant it was $888 (there were no stickers or A4 stands with the price) when finalising he asked about the Product Care Replacement we asked how much and he said he would do it for $900 in total for laptop and 36 month product care, well got home and was curious what other stores were selling it for as we didn't do any research before buying, only to find out on the HN website the price was only $758. We may still of purchased the product care even for $142 but thinking it was only $12 I find this misleading information and to top it all off we also purchased a notebook sleeve to protect the laptop and we were charged for 2.
Very unhappy!
