I was nervous based on the reviews here, but so far a positive experience
I was nervous to purchase from Harvey Norman's website based on all the 1 star reviews here, but I bought an airfryer as a wedding present for my brother last week and it was shipped the next day and arrived a few days later - the delivery people rang me when they were 15 minutes away too. I do wish there was a way to track your shipment though. And I ordered a fitbit for my dad for Christmas last night and it shipped this morning. So far a positive experience ordering online from Harvey Norman.
Terrible Customer Service
Tried to purchase a laptop for my daughter for school. Order went through and credit card was charged. Two days later get an e-mail saying the order had been cancelled. No reason given. Card still charged. There is no phone number to call. Sent them an e-mail with no response. Tried their whattsapp service but no one answered. Tried live chat and again, no response from anyone. Credit card was finally refunded but still cannot get to talk to anyone about it. Take your business elsewhere. Not worth the hassle.

A hard days/night on this Mattress.
I purchased a mattress, queen sized, from Harvey Norman. It was middle of the price range, was highly accredited by the Salesman, and endorsed with 10years guarantee. After less than 6months, the bed was uncomfortable for both myself and my wife. I returned to Harvey Norman with my concerns, was told there was nothing could be done, only advice was to turn and flip the mattress. Tried this with no result, so I asked about the warranty and again was told nothing could be done. Very disappointed with such a large organisation to advertise these warranties, that cannot be activated. All in all, I will not purchase from Harvey Norman again.
Shocking delivery service!!! Never again!
I ordered a fridge recently and got it delivered to my place, however due to the large packaging the fridge was quite difficult to get in the main door. We suggested to the delivery guys to bring it around the property to go through the back where there is a bigger door and easier access to the kitchen but they didn’t listen, were quite rude and said “that’s all we can do” and just left the fridge without seeking a resolution. I don’t think it’s fair to leave a massive fridge for 2 small people to bring it in if the delivery guys can’t even mak...e it work! We’re lucky we had further deliveries that day and some guys helped us out. Otherwise it would have been an impossible situation! Purchasing was easy and was a good experience, product is good too but the delivery was horrible and the delivery guys appeared to be in a rush.

Dreadful Service - "in stock" but a week later still in the warehouse
I purchased an item online over a week ago. The following date I received a notification that the item has been shipped.
Obviously not, as 8 days later is still sitting in the warehouse according to the tracking.
Customer Service? what a joke!
You are forced to interact with some stupid bot, eventually (after 45 minutes) some moron replies that you should be more patient and expect slight delays.
When I replied that this was more than " a slight delay", my response was channelled back to the bot, which started to conversation from scratch, i.e ...
The order would have been fine, but unfortunately they use Couriers Please
Purchased a kitchenaid attachment, and the product is great. However, I would not have ordered from them if I had known that they use Couriers Please for their shipping. Couriers Please claimed to have attempted delivery and left a card, but I was home at the time during Victoria's stage 4 lockdown and no attempt was made. There was also no card left at the premises. I would recommend purchasing elsewhere from somewhere that does not use dishonest delivery services.

Bad experience with the service online!!
I bought a board game on their online store trying to give support on Australian local store due the COVID-19 situation instead to buy from Amazon US which btw was $18 cheaper.
I totally regret it. Some pieces where damaged and defected which is not their fault but I basically did not receive any support from them. I pointed it out with an email and on their chat. It has been really difficult to be in contact with them but when I was able to do so they were not very helpful. Just told me that they had to contact the supplier. However, it made ...sense so I waited. It has been passed 3 weeks, I sent other emails to have some news and nothing! No resolution, no contact! Luckily mine is just a game. I don’t want to think to manage a complain situation with some essential items as a cooktop or a fridge or maybe a laundry machine.

Harvey norman refuses to list a review on the breville bbm800bss
The breville breadmaker i received a couple of days ago and workmanship was seriously flawed. It the worst assembly i have ever seen in a product. Then refuse to list my complaint with no reason

Terrible Service; Deceitful Practices
Upon being unhappy with the features (or lack thereof)on my new TV, I submitted an online request for a callback to obtain a refund; and was advised, from their website, that this would occur 'within 24 hours'. When this did not occur, I submitted another form with the same request. After 48 hours, two forms and nil response, I have elected to purchase a superior product from another business, and put this down to an expensive lesson.

I purchased an oven. It was not in stock - yet it was for sale and purchase through online store - so it was put on back order. One month later I get an email and a phone call to arrange delivery. Free delivery from online site - a bonus. Can't fault the delivery guys they were very helpful. Electrician went to install oven 2 days later to find my old one on removal was gas. Silly me I purchased the wrong oven. Totally my fault. I got onto HN and requested a return and refund - item was in packaging and not installed. No ...

Please the online click and collect is so bad,I brought something for $300 (I’m on a budget and I saved for these) Harvey Norman took my money then 3 hours later they send me an email saying my order has been rejected!!! I call up the taylors lakes store they told me that online security supect fraud,I’ve been using this same card for years and have never had an issue I’m absolutely disappointed no refund still and it’s been 5 days,and after speaking with a friend the same thing happened to her at Harvey Norman taylors lakes, we both came to th...e conclusion that the store didn’t have the item so they cancel your order and use the excuse fraud!! Paid $2217. Order not accepted??!
As mentioned in the title, I made an online purchase ( $2217 ) for a television, I almost immediately was sent an email saying ‘after careful review, your order has not been accepted.’
Ok. If that’s the case, why take the money out of my account, just to then reject the purchase? As of writing this, I am still waiting for my refund and an answer as to ‘why’ my purchase was rejected? I’ve contacted them several times via email, and the abysmal chat option on their website but to no avail. Worst retailer ever.

Harvey Norman is a robber
I bought PowerTrain Adjustable Dumbbell Pair 20kg. These are the cheapest and unsafe dumbells I have ever seen in my life. It has been only 1 Day I received the product. I was busy at work. Today on Friday evening I opened the package and put everything in my room. When I finished my work I took the dumbells out of the weight I wanted to do, the front weight plate was down of one set while the second dumbbell was ok. I saw that the two plastic strip which holds that plates one of them is broken which means the first plate can not be fitted. The...second Dumbell set has one of the sliding strip bent. Luckily, I didn't lift the dumbbell, it could have broken my feet or leg. So both of the sets are faulty. Please see attached images for detail. No support nothing. Harvey Norman online has zero Support, I am chasing them from 8 days now. I feel so bad that I spent 800 dollars and these are sitting in front of my eyes every day. No phone number, only Facebook and Whatsapp Support Channels. Someone will reply to you once and then disappear and will reply after 5 hours. I am going to take this matter to ACCC, Consumers Affairs, and possibly to VCAT too. I am told them someone will contact me and refund me the money but the wait is never over. I am still waiting. They told me that they are waiting for the supplier.

Bought items- online shopping. No problem. They took my money. No problem. Sent email- available to collect. No problem. Go to collect.......... expect to wait a bit cos other people turn up to collect their ovens in a hatch back. But the guys in Penrith a very polite. Busy but professional.

Cashing in on the name, no actual reliability or after-sales service
Gerry Harvey's disdain for online shopping (and online shoppers) is nowhere more evident than in his own online division.
Harvey Norman's "Online Marketplace" is integrated into their website and is who you're buying from when you buy items labelled "online only". These items are fulfilled by third-party suppliers, with HN acting as the middleman - they take your order and payment then pass these on to the supplier to send out your item, essentially like a drop-shipper or a reseller. Besides the name there's no actual backing of this enterpris...e by Harvey Norman corporate or any physical store - this branch is owned by an "independent franchisee" I am informed, and has no other relationship to the HN brand. If you have a problem with an item there's no phone number to call - your contact options are chatting with a scripted 'Customer First' representative who cannot answer anything but the most rudimentary enquiry(and often leaves you hanging), submitting a request via a web form (no email address for direct contact is provided either) or 'requesting a callback' - which, if it comes, will have the person insisting you need to write out the details of your issue (even if you've already done so) and then promising they will contact the supplier to see what they can do...never to be heard from again. Don't bother asking to speak to a real person/manager or getting such a person's phone number or email address so you can contact them directly - they don't give out that sort of 'personal information'. All in all, after purchasing a $2000 item which has developed problems within 2 weeks I feel I've been abandoned and left to fend for myself, with no-one at "Harvey Norman" (it's not really them) caring one iota. It's just another way for this company to cash in on its name, make some more profit and then leave customers high and dry. While the HN stores themselves are not exactly stellar examples of excellent customer service (just check their reviews), at least at a store you can go in or call and speak to a real person - even that avenue of recourse is taken away when you deal with HN's Online Marketplace, and as such they're no better than any other dodgy anonymous website with no actual business or contact details given - and much worse than many other online businesses who truly obviously value their customers and provide exemplary customer service, who are out there (with glowing reviews to prove it). Extremely disappointed and don't want others to fall into this trap of believing they're dealing with a reputable and transparent Australian company, which clearly they're not, despite the name.
Very poor customer service
I purchased a kids kitchen for my grand daughters birthday this was delivered promptly when it was unpacked we discovered one of the taps were broken I was really disappointed and emailed straight away to get this fixed. I have now sent approximately 6 emails and have had no response so angry after sales service is really poor just want it fixed ,this was a present.

Online store the worst !!
This is a complaint about Harvey Norman online! They sent me a damaged guitar now that’s fine it happens all I wanted was a refund! So I emailed them and they said they would look into it’ it’s been nearly a month and no reply! So I Facebook them same story someone will look into it. No reply. I WhatsApp them. Same story no reply! I don’t know who to turn too all I want is a refund! It’s really disheartening and frustrating! You expect this from a small store or maybe overseas but no from a name brand like Harvey Norman! Will never shop online again and warn others they will ship your item fast but if you are unlucky like and get a faulty or damaged item you will claw and fight to get a refund!

How do I make a claim? I ordered a product 18th June was to be delivered 24th June. I’ve sent many many emails to both HN & the courier company to see where it is. I’ve had conformation from both the courier & HN that my item is lost. That was on 9th July but I can’t get any one to take this seriously or to call me back. I’m beside myself I’ve made many requests for someone to call me to no avail. Help please.
