Timbermax tg timber flooring
Purchased this brand in November last year. Looks great but looks can be deceiving. They are terrible! They move and you can visibly see the movement, they squeak and creak! Extremely difficult to keep clean. They mark and very easily. Marks were left behind just from the installation! For example, every time I stand in the kitchen the board shift and I can hear it hit the dishwasher with a loud clunk! Every time you walk off floor boards onto carpeted area... creaks! The edge trim that was used has fallen off! When first installed 6 boards wer...e split and the creaking noise was horrendous. Once installed definitely is nothing like what is the store on display. Had my time again, would've chosen completely different product. Contacted store to fix more problems and heard nothing back in 2 weeks. Very disappointed. Not planning on them lasting very long and seriously waiting for them to lift up... wouldn't surprise me. Run as fast as you can in the opposite direction - waste of money!
Would NOT recommend to purchase carpet from HN Corio. No customer skills from the owner. Supplied & laid cheaper underlay.
speechless, one of the worst experience in my life
Don't even ho near the Harvey Norman in maribyrnong
After a few months waiting for the issue to be fixed, thier “Professional contractor” called me on Thursday and cancelled his Friday job and he said that he will give me a call on Friday to arrange another time but he NEVER did.
When we were looking for a reliable store we thought that we should go to (Harvey Norman) only because of their website message;
"Discover how Harvey Norman can put you in touch with the right people to enjoy the functions of your new purchase without any has...sle." "Without any hassle" are you kidding? It's been more than 3 months!!!! It's not our responsibility to deal with your contractors, we came to you (Harvey Norman) to provide and install floor boards for us NOT ANYONE ELSE!!!
Looking for a quote and called....explained to the man on the phone that we are getting quotes and would like Harvey Norman to come out as well.. We work long hours and asked if they could come measure up (we are literally 10 minutes from the store) and we will come into the shop the same night and they could present....rudely he stated they won't measure up as we might not be able to afford what we want?!?!?! I asked for the manager to call me and he said if the manager has time he would. The Franchisee called back and was quite apathetic a...nd said we won't come and measure without you coming to the store as many people just waste our time. I said I was offended how his staff spoke to me and asked him if he thought that was ok....he said yes that is company policy...not once did he apologize, I explained our situation again and said we are getting quotes from A, B and C and he said "Oh they are only small companies and don't know what they are doing, we don't have time to waste unless you are serious about getting flooring" He said it is his business and he can run it any way he would like. I kept asking for an apology and explained why I am now apprehensive using his company and he had no response...I do not recommend this store....Is there a way of getting another franchise nearby to come out and quote...
Worst & humiliating customer service
Walked into Broadmeadows store enquiring for wooden flooring. The staff was busy chatting with each other and after about 10 minutes walks up to me as answering my questions with absolutely no interest.
All he was keen was if I wanted to buy it today and want to make a deposit. While I still wasn't clear about what I'm buying and was trying to understand the pricing that he just give me, he was getting absolutely impatient and was getting rude.
When asked if the quote he gave was the best he could do, he literally asked me to go to Salva...tion Army to get a better price. Couldnt believe the kind of tone and manners the staff speak with the customers in this store. One of the worst customer experience I have ever had in my entire life. Staff spoke with was Vincent and his manager (don't know his name) Avoid at all cost.
Horrible service in flooring section Nunawading
Staff were busy chatting to each other despite noticed i need help. After spending more than 15 min wondering by myself a Chinese staff came and 'offer' help but refused to answer me simple questions as to what products are on sale, what are the best price for certain flooring etc instead he asked me questions like can you commit today and how big is your house etc.. He getting impatient and spoke louder when I said I'm still doing my research and can't make any buying decision without a quotation. Then he walked away with a reason! The worst customer service ever!
Very disappointed with this product. Had it less than a year and already had boards replaced at a cost of $750 and many more again need to be replaced. You are told to clean up any puddles of water/liquid straight away, but you are not told that just a little drop of liquid or even moisture will cause damage by boards bubbling and rising up. Also along the edge of many boards a tiny lip has formed and I don't think is caused by spilled liquid or even a drop of liquid. Very disappointed and would not recommend this product to anyone. We did complain to Harvey Norman, but they seem to wipe their hands of this. Last time I purchase flooring through Harvey Norman.
Faulty carpet, still awaiting outcome
I am resorting to writing and publishing this complaint as my complaint has been poorly handled/ignored and is still ongoing despite repeated un-returned phone calls to THOMASTOWN HARVEY NORMAN STORE carpet department. I have had it to the point I just want a refund and they can come take back their carpet. We supposedly bought the second best carpet with 15 year guarantee, however after just 6 months the carpet lost its luster and became flat especially in some areas it was so flat it became hard. We have had it professionally cleaned as recom...mended and followed care instructions with regular vacuum. Someone even came from head office of the carpet supplier to have a look and then I never heard back. He tried to tell me that the oils we secrete from our body/feet is what could have caused it and so on and so fourth. I want a refund so I can go elsewhere. This is not an acceptable outcome and I'm still waiting after a year of making the initial complaint. I gave the store the chance to resolve this matter privately and instead of receiving a phone call, i got an email telling me that the supplier does not believe the carpet to be faulty and that it can be brushed up which is a lie. If the issue is not resolved after my response, I will be taking further action as my rights under Australian Consumer Law have been violated. I urge others in a similar situation to do the same. I'm surprised Harvey Norman would allow one of their Franchisees to treat customers like this.
Harvey Norman Liverpool Flooring
One of the worst experiences I have ever had. Purchased a top of the range carpet which had to be replaced three times before something even remotely resembling what we ordered turned up. The walls were left with glue all over the place and an entire room had to be repainted. The young bloke who runs the franchise continually assured me that if I was unhappy he would look after me. Every time you glance in the general direction of this carpet it requires cleaning and it is totally useless... of course I am stuck with it. In their defence they did replace the carpet but I was never happy with it as it is completely impractical to live with I would never ever shop with these people again.
Harvey Norman Penrith Flooring, Terrible Customer Service
The service at Harvey Norman flooring and carpet Penrith was incredibly disappointing. The contractor that Harvey Norman sent to lay the carpet was unprofessional, aggressive and unapproachable. He had such bad tantrums and carried on so much whilst working that my wife and children felt unsafe being alone in the house with him.
Whilst laying the carpet he managed to smash one of our pictures hanging on the wall and cut through our phone line (which he did not let us know about, so we had to work this out later). When the new carpet was laid,...
Erina store: a truly abysmal performance!
You have to literally 'extract' the purchase from the so call [contact details removed]! I had to ring twice, my calls were not returned and after the measurement of the room had been done, I had to, once again, physically 'extract' the quotation from the [contact details removed] by visiting the shop (when they had my phone number and email address!). You wonder why some are in business, sometimes! Now their price was... 40 % more expensive -for exactly the same carpet & underlay- than their friendly opposition who are quite efficient, them (t...hey have, and most likely for that reason, been in business for 125 years, them...). If you need a new carpet, avoid harvey norman erina store at any cost, please, take my word, go to 2/14 barralong rd instead...
harvey norman corio bad cervice
our boral engineered timber flooring was installed over a year ago.after few months gaps have appeared in some places.have contacted Harvey norman corio store about that and each time same thing they get my phone number with promice someone will contact you.a year has passed still waiting what a joke
Poor quality Allure Plank Flooring. Horrible service from Harvey Norman Fyshwick.
I have a big issue with Allure Locking Floating Resilient Plank Flooring. Bought it in September 2014 from Harvey Norman Fyshwick, installed it according to instructions, no probs, all looked good. However, after couple of months the gaps begun to appear between the flooring boards. Some planks are now completely unlocked and the floor is falling apart.
Contacted HN Fyshwick, was trying to resolve it for almost 5 months (!!) without any result. VERY frustrating and disappointing.. They just ignore my letters/calls. I've been there client...for more then 10 years but who cares.. The advice I received from the specialist in flooring was that locking strips are too fragile and do not hold the planks together, and that floors could not be fixed. I am replacing floors now, as with small kids in the house it is just unsafe to live with floors that are falling apart. Very stressful and disappointing experience. NEVER AGAIN..
Mohawk Carpet Complaint
I have an ongoing issue with the wear of my Mohawk carpet; to have HN come out assess it and deem the issue to be 'flattening' which is not covered under manufacturing warranty (although can't find this mentioned in the warranty brochure). They have offered to replace the carpet (original purchase cost of the carpet only) as a good will gesture but will not replace with the same carpet incase it happens again - choose something similar/different and pay the difference including the re-installation of new choice!
I have asked the franchisee f...or Head Office contact details to be told "No, I'm the franchisee and I make the decisions regarding this store". Thinking Consumer Affairs will have to sort this one out as we keep going around in circles with the franchisee....
Floating Floor Failure,Bad advice to make a sale
So almost two years ago my mother went into Harvey Normans watergardens store because she was interested in having a floating floor installed. We did our research and I was in the process of building a home and saw how hard wearing these floorboards wore so I was in support of her choice. I went in with her and we spoke to David the flooring manager, I asked a lot of questions and got some great answers. We were advised we had a lifetime warranty on the floor and that they were suitable in a wet area like the kitchen, if there were any issues t...hat arose then there's that warranty. Cleaning? Just clean them as you normally would clean a floor. 3 months later the flooboards are not only bubbling in the kitchen but in the lounge room, the hallway, the front entrance too. Mum made the mistake of mopping the floor once. We researched the correct way to clean the floors and she purchased suitable sponges, polishing mops etc, anything that will prevent excess moisture and water on the boards. I was livid after trying to get onto anyone at Harvey Norman I even spoke to two people at head office and was advised that as this is a franchise there is very little head office can do. The installation was absolutely rubbish, honestly there are nails sticking out, broken pieces of the skirting boards and the wood panelling that joins them, they've even been cut poorly and not measured correctly. We finally had a replacement of boards after speaking to the Franchisee of the Watergardens store and it was installed. 2 months later the same issue occured even with better cleaning methods, in the same places and different places too. This is clearly a quality issue but the Franchisee advised it's a moisture problem in the sub flooring. We had two assessors come out and make this assessment. Apparently one assessor advised the franchisee that it is moisture in the sub flooring and the other assessor advised them it wasn't. We've been offered another few boxes of replacements but installation will be at our own cost and we've had the installer manager come in and check out the shoddy work of the first installation and he even said he can't believe how poor a job this is. Lifetime warranty doesn't actually seem to cover anything... We are now moving forward to consumer affairs for being sold a poor product, given poor advice, poor installation. We are longstanding customers with this business, our kitchen and most our furniture, and electrical goods were purchased from them. This is a very horrible way of dealing with an issue when it can be so easily fixed. I would recommend anyone purchasing flooring to do a lot of research on the product first and honestly try not to listen to salesmen, KPI's are what interest them and sometimes they don't know everything. Tread with caution.
Poor Carpet Installation
Installation of carpet at my house was scheduled on the 30th of December 8am. The installer was late and called to advise a more urgent job had come up and I was delayed to the afternoon.
When the installer arrived the job was incomplete and the franchisee from HN Wiley Park was contacted to come on site. My home has tiled stairs and requires stair nosing and the installer was unaware and unprepared for this. They lead me to believe my home was unique and the installer in 35 years of laying carpet had never seen anything like this before wh...ich is absolutely nonsense. Anyway, weeks later still no result I complained to anyone that would listen and HN sent 2 guys to come and diagnose the problem. More than a week has passed since the diagnosis occurred and still no stair nosing. All I need is a piece of aluminium installed to go from my tiles to the carpet area to tidy up the joint between the tiles and carpet. Surely this is not new or uncommon. Anyway ... Reason for the 1 STAR is the one month delay, the non communication despite my constant follow up and specific request to be kept informed and because I contacted the franchise head office customer complaints line and no resolution. Lodged a complaint with NSW Fair Trading and will write this review on every forum I can find.
allure gen 3 travertine vinyl plank
Installed the previous vinyl plank without any real difficulty. HN then changed the click/lock system and introduced the gen 3 system. This uses a very flimsy tiny plastic strip along the sides to help lock it in. When it works it gives a really good seal, but when it doesn't which is often -the planks do not lock together. The flimsy plastic often splits and if you have to redo some planks you don't seem to be able to get it to stay together. I purchased the planks from HN Toowoomba and there were absolutely no instructions in any box or sent ...separately. I then phoned the store and was told by a male employee to watch the u tube video! The lady then called back and explained that the planks have to be slid in - yes but what happens when you get to the final row and there is not enough room to slide the planks together? She also emailed me some instructions which do not mention sliding them together. The planks I am using are 600mm x 300mm. The system may work better with the narrow planks but not with these. The instructions also mentioned if the flimsy plastic strip becomes unusable to use a thin bead of glue. I phoned HN again and asked if I could have some more flimsy plastic strips. Was told they are not available as spare parts and someone would call me later. I'm still waiting. As HN have changed the system of interlocking these vinyl planks and the flimsy plastic is not working they need to review this product. I picked this system because the room was an odd size and I would have ended up with several joins if I had used lino. I think the planks are reasonable quality for the money and will last if the joints are done properly. The flimsy plastic strip is the downfall. They are not easy to install and I would hesitate to recommend to anyone.
Not happy with laminate flooring - at all
Sorry HN but I hate the laminate flooring I had installed in October. I cannot clean it, it shows every mark, it is a nightmare. I want to change it but it cost over $2000 and I feel I was not informed about how this flooring reacts in the high humidity of sub tropical Queensland. I am very distressed.
Cashed up and Completely IGNORED!
I live in the mountains and look forward to my big shop In Penrith every 3 months or so. I know what I want and have the cash. I have found on several occasions that when I enter the Harvey Norman Penrith store, even though there are many sales people on the floor, they do not engage with the customers. I, on many occasions, am completely ignored!!! On every single occasion I am aware of the product I want to buy, I am willing to pay for it but I am never approached by a sales person. I will never enter a Harvey Norman store again due to the ...pathetic customer service time after time. Are they trained to be sexist and, ageist to see a woman in their 50's and look the other way!!! Hello? Hello, can I buys something? No wonder you are going broke. Keep out of politics your opinion is useless! Product NO service
Unbelievably angry at Harvey Norman carpeting
Well, where to begin? I am so angry with the lack of honesty, service and attention to detail that i barely know how to write this, so i will try and keep it short (looks like i failed there!) i am sitting here again waiting for the leasee to return my calls (seems to be the story of my life with this saga).
Looked for new carpet for our new home. After the most pushy (yet convincing) sales pitch by the leasee of the store, we opted for the smartstrand classic carpet with the special deal of $1 installation (here i should note to be mindful ...
Harvey norman flooring beware do not buy
To some it up in short.
Do not buy flooring from here!!
Purchased floating tongue and groove flooring and carpet from port macquarie store. Completely faulty products complaints have been going on for two years that's right years franchisee wiped his hands of us taking no responsibility even after a building inspector found the product and the installation to be faulty. Only option the franchisee wanted was fair trading and harvey norman head office didn't even give two flying you know what's no response from head office even after two letter...
Terrible pegulan flooring installation.
Purchased pegulan flooring from harvey norman watergardens for my home in melton south.
Once the flooring had been laid the result was substandard workmanship. All the joints were
Visible as they were straight line joints not the zig zag joints -the glue used on top of the joints
Were clearly visible. I was also left with brown splash marks on the walls from the substance that was laid on the existing ceramic tiles prior to laying the new flooring. The cuts against
The sideboards were not straight. I...
Don't buy floor coverings from Harvey Norman - Lake Haven
Short while ago we purchased a wood floor & install from Harvey Norman at Lake Haven. It has developed "waves" and is getting worse.
Initial complaints to Harvey Norman went unanswered as "Sorry, this was not passed on, then we were advised "we will come and look at it and photograph the floor - probably tomorrow" nobody turned up, more phone calls, then somebody came and inspected the floor saying "we will have to take it up and see what the problem is, will call you tomorrow" two weeks later still no action even after store visits and phone ...
Great Carpet - Can't vacuum it properly!
Purchased Smart Strand Carpet early in January 2014. Between the deal in the shop and the home visit to measure, read a few problems on the net regarding the vacuuming, which was the very first question I asked when he arrived to be told "different carpet to this". Guess what? Yes neither my Wertheim barrel or Sanyo upright would cope with the depth of the pile. Wonderful looking carpet, colours available are great, couldn't be happier, feels and looks like nothing else, but have had to spend a lot of money (I mean a lot) on the only vacuum cle...aner recommended for it. Happy with the carpet, not happy with the salespitch which ignored my query. Lush and luxurious - fabulous looking - 5 stars for the carpet. Installers also great - 10 stars for them! Pricey, which is ok, but even with the machine recommended - difficult to vacuum. Nil stars for the vacuuming
Worst service ever
Back in November 2012 we had bamboo flooring installed, all went well, until a few months ago we needed to repair a section due to faulty installation. What a night mare!!! it has taken 1 month and still not complete. I now have 5 other issue caused by this layer. Phone call after call, enough is enough. If you want to save heart ache, save yourself....
