Not the easiest to put in. Some boards were buckled so needed to be returned. looks good but now lifting in areas, so having to get help, the buck is being passed.

Helpful Service
I visited the flooring centre at Bundall twice and on both occasions was not approached by a salesperson to assist with my carpet choice. This was disappointing as I ha purchased from Harvey Norman in the past. I eventually went to a different carpet store.

Very nice carpet
I have been very happy with the carpet we were sold. It was on sale for a great price. The install was not as I would have expected, I called to have the installer come back as he had not stretched it over the nails on the edging. Looking at it today I still don't think it's ok . My carpet mats that I asked to have made from the only remaining piece were not all made. Mixed emotions about this big purchase.

Carpet purchase and installation
I ordered and was quoted for carpet well in advance of the installation date ( 19/11/2018). The installers arrived within the timeframe provided and commenced work. Unfortunately, they ran out of joinery tape (I think that's what it's called) and so only 3/4 of the installation was completed. I'm still waiting for contact for when the remainder gets done. Now ordinarily I might have been a bit annoyed BUT the installers did a really good job, provide good advice and I'm hoping for a quick return to complete the job. If the installation HAD been completed in 1 go, I would have submitted a 5 star rating.

Harvey Norman O'connor
The staff at Harvey Norman Flooring O'Connor were so nice and helpful - especially the manager who helped us get a really good price. The installers were nice guys but we weren't happy with the install at all, and now I wish we had gone with different installers. The job just seemed really rushed and they cut our door frames to slide the planks under (which we said yes to) but the door frames were left with jagged cuts and paint flaking off them. They came back to fix it after we requested them to however. Upon talking to a different installer ...Read more
they said the installers should have also taken the original skirting off the walls before putting the timber skirting in as it does look a bit out of place with a small timber skirting up against the original skirting.Similar opinion? Write a review on ProductReview.com.au!

Allure Locking flooring Shrinks in Cold weather
We purchased over $4500 worth of Allure locking Saw Cut Dakota flooring from Harvey Norman Gepps Cross Store Adelaide over 6 months ago but have found this flooring very disappointing as it has shrunk so much, big gaps and coming apart at the joins. Really liked the look originally.

Allure floor locking - from good to bad
At about 8 month pregnant, in 2013, my husband and I realised that the original floorboards we were living on weren't going to cut it for a household with a new baby. We wanted something that looked good, was practical, easy to clean and install. I went to HN in fishwick and was directed to the allure locking floor. It seemed to tick all the boxes. We viewed the videos of how to install the flooring and with both my husband and father-in-law being carpenters, they said they could do it. When the tiles arrived we let them sit for several day to ...Read more
acclimatise to the conditions in the house, as recommended. It took them several days to lay the flooring in our hallway, kitchen/dinning and lounge room and it looked great when finished. I was very please with the results; however come winter time we notice that things stared to turn bad. Gaps started to appear in several places throughout the house and only got worse as the months went on. Summer came around again and some of the gaps shrunk but other stayed and only got worse when the next winter arrived. I made a complaint to HN and a representative of fyshwick came around. He took photos and said that an allure locking representative would be sent to have a look and it would be up to them to make the final decision. When he arrive he was in was in and out within about 10 mins. He said that as we laid the floor ourselves we were not entitled to have it fixed. I was a bit taken back as the allure locking floor is targeted to those who want to DIY. Never once was I told that if we laid the floor ourselves then pretty much warranty would be void. I would of definitely gone with something else had i know that. I'm at the stage now were I try and arrange my furniture to cover the gaps as its embarrassing. We are also doing a minni reno to the lounge room and I've had to buy more tiles so the flooring all matches. My husband and i talked about replacing the whole flooring but we cant afford to do that as its through all the house, bar the bedrooms and bathroom. The reason why I've come forward again with this complaint is that my mother just recently had her kitchen / dining room laid with allure locking and surprise, surprise, the gaps have happened to her flooring too. Her's was professionally laid and she was told that it couldn't / wont be fixed. How is that fair. I've never had a problem with Harvey Norman warranties etc. and have even recommended them to friends and family for their great service. Please note that my problem isnt with harvey norman, as their service is always good. My problem is with the flooring itself and the representative they sent out, who basically said their product isnt faulty and that the gaps are our fault. Disappointing is the word i'd use to describe my latest experience.1 comment

Buying carpet from Harvey Norman Fyshwick
When my new residential house was completed, I purchased carpet from the relevant store. The decision to buy carpet from Harvey Norman Fyshwick were due to the fact that we're happy with appliances and furnitures bought from the same store. Both me and my wife like the carpet that were installed in our bedrooms and living room. However, to our disbelieved, the installation damaged our brand new floor skirting and even scrapping some huge chunk of paint off. I ended up having to touch up the floor skirtings. M wife, who had previously work in th...Read more
e similar industry, had never have similar complaint from customers regarding the floor skirting as the installer the company have back then worked for more than 20 years in similar field. When I called the manager of the carpet area up, the advice was I, as a customer has been warned. They advised that they have sent the mail containing relevant information out to our brand new address. I have not received the mail that was mentioned at the new place and the old place that we were living at the times. Despite a few times calling up about the carpet prior to installation, the salesperson or manager never bothered to ask if we have received the mail or not. The main thing in their mind is whether we have paid or not. During the phone conversation with the manager and voicing out frustration over this, the manager still put the blames onto us for not reading the terms and conditions which was supposely mailed to us. Apologies does not fix up our damaged skirting paint in the new house. The manager does not even try to offer a resolution but just putting the blame towards the customer. This will be the last time we will be getting carpet from Harvey Norman Fyshwick. Carpet - Good quality and presentation Customer services, installation.Similar opinion? Does smart strand carpet really come with a life time warranty? ?? Lots of un happy people. ...
1 answer
Smartstrand used a video of a ToughMudder race with finalists trudging soil all over a white carpet, only to be cleaned on the video and claims of CANNOT be stained.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3d8-2PhGo00
In the ToughMudder video you hear claims from Mowhawk's representative - "no match for Smartstrand forever clean which was easily restored to its ORIGINAL BEAUTY"
Other claims " SmartStrand is an easy to clean carpet that stays clean. Durable, STAIN PROOF, soft and comfortable". Mohawk Flooring
https://www.mohawkflooring.com/carpet/brand/smartstrand
Then there is the Rhino and later the Zoo challenge... Say no more beyond this is absolute misrepresentation.
We have a family of 5 and the marks from every day walking across are not removable How can they claim with visual representation that zoo animals cannot mark it? The SmartStrand carpet we bought based on these claims, looked like it was tired marked and old and in need of replacing within 8 months.
PLUS the Harvey Norman flooring sales team refused to accept and tried to shift blame to anything else, except acknowledging that the Mohawk carpet simply make and made untrue and false claims.
Harvey Norman could have done the only right and honourable thing (at NO cost to them as they'd pass it back to manufacturer), by saying it is NOT fit for the purpose and does not live up to the claims made of it and we'll refund or replace. They did neither.
We purchased for 4 rooms including a large lounge solely due to absolute assurances from the sales people that the “un-stainable” claims made were true.
1. The Smartstrand carpet purchase, was the worst decision we have ever made. And sadly, we cannot afford to replace it yet, and still have the worst carpet decision reminding us daily.
2. The second worst decision was where we bought from as a result of the after service. After literally a couple of months we wanted the disgusting carpets replaced after we'd had them cleaned and they remained with discolouration stains, were just dismissed and we were told we needed to engage a different carpet cleaning service.. which we did AT OUR ADDITIONAL COST - and even then the Harvey Norman referred carpet cleaner said it was poor quality carpet and the marks wouldn’t come out.
NB - Apart from anything else, if the carpet is claimed to be "the easiest to clean carpet on the planet" and is "un-stainable due to its scientifically proven nano-technology" - why is a special carpet cleaner required
Totally insulting untrue claims, ACCC should take action against all misleading and false claims.

Hi,
We ordered carpet recently however said that we were months away from installing. We initially asked for our deposit back because of incorrect measuring on our part and a price hike however came to an agreement. We picked a colour for purchase sake however now when asking we are told the carpet is ordered and we can't change the colour despite us saying we were months away and may change the colour????
We have paid a large deposit but not sure what to do as we know it will be a case of 'can't change your mind'...not sure why carpet needed to be ordered prior to use 100 percent confirming

So my question is can we request our deposit and cancel order there is nowhere on the invoice that says we cannot
