Pushy phone sales

I made the mistake of leaving my real mobile number on their website and someone called me back. His objective of making a quick sale was obvious, rushing through the process and often condescending, hoping to embarrass the prospective customer into submission. When I said I needed to think about it, he became upset and asked "what's there to think about?" That raised red flags for me - he was clearly doing it for himself and the health plan offered may not be in my best interest. When I insisted that he range me up later in the week, he disconnected the call impolitely and made a point of showing his displeasure.

Worst service I have ever had

These guys are a joke, misadvised me, then I had issues contacting them to cancel what they were doing. After assuring me what they had done wasn't actioned and I hadn't transferred over, my cover was transferred, without my knowledge and I was debited several times. Avoid these guys, they are absolutely incompetent!

They just clip the ticket

Great at doing the comparison, woeful on the switch.... Ended up with two policies at the same time and two premiums because they got the start dates wrong (I did confirm what was required in writing). I picked it up early and tried to work with them to sort it out but got no help, still trying to sort it out while they site on their hands..... . They just clip the ticket for the commission.
My advice get some quotes independently and build a simple spreadsheet for comparison. I was with my previous insurer for 20 years and with the added costs of the stuff ups I would have been better just negotiating a better deal with them and avoiding what is nothing more than the MIDDLE MAN.

Seamless

I was told that the health company I was moving to payed out more for extras what I was not told is that they pay out a lot less per visit (very sneaky)not being up front Show reply

Great communication, all the information we needed

My consultants, Anthea and Stephen, were excellent - courteous, knowledgeable and provided information for health fund comparisons in a factual and timely manner. Very helpful, and helped us to find a good health fund with excellent benefits that fitted our needs, and much cheaper than we paid last year. Show reply

Great explanation

Great explanation not sure when exactly use benefits when reading policy there are 2 month waiting periods was told that they would only be able to see what has been used since Jan. 1st think only getting I have used is my pharmaceutical benefit and had 1 left Show reply

Big savings, but at a price

Comparing health fund products is still complex, despite recent Government changes, as not only are you comparing what's in and what's out between products, but the level of benefits from each provider for each service. HIC cut to the chase and found a product suitable for us at a significant monthly saving, but we had to forego zero hospital excess and exclude two major services, which we had been paying for, but figured we would get 12 months lead time if they were needed down the track. HIC provided us with the impetus, through sound, logical discussions, to make the change after more than 40 years with the same provider. Show reply

Hopless, ended up paying more for less

Hopless, ended up $15 paying more per month for less (after loading was factored in), was misled & deceived by an incompetent unsolicited caller that didn't factor in my lifetime loading. I received no feedback or concern at all and realised that these guys are only after money and couldn't give a damn about their customers

Beats trolling through policies and doing comparisons

Everything he told me was verified by the new company I went with, including warning me I may get an aggressive call from my past company. Happy with New Cover

Aggressive and rude

I was using their on-line site to examine different covers when I was called up by one of their "salesman". After providing information on the cover I required, I was provided with a quote that represent some saving on my current cover. I was immediately asked to provide my current membership details and payment arrangements; the person clearly wanted me to sign up immediately. I asked for a copy of the Product Disclose Statement to be emailed to be so that I could make an informed decision on changing my insurer to which the person responded "Thanks veery much for wasting 23 minutes of my time, I thought you were serious about saving some money, Goodbye" and rang off.
Do NOT touch this crowd!

Disastrous health insurance transfer

I used Health Insurance Comparison to change health insurance but they didn't notify my old insurer as promised so I was being charged double insurance fees for a few months. When I asked them about sorting it out, they just told me to contact the ombudsman and blame my old insurer. However, after many hours of phone calls it became apparent that as a broker they should have requested my old insurer send a transfer certificate to my new insurer. They basically did nothing and just collected the fees, and they continued to do nothing when the problem became apparent. Avoid.

Telemarketing calls

I did a comparison review on line. To do this you have to give personal information such as name, phone number and email address. I was reluctant to do this but wanted to compare so filled in the required fields. Could not achieve any worthwhile better results than my existing fund so left the site. Within minutes I received an email and phone call. I did not want this unnecessary intrusion into my life. Beware.

Selling your data to scammers

I did a comparison and made the mistake if giving them my phone number. After I unsubscribed from their sms list they sold on my details to scammers. I've had a scam call/sms per day since the moment I did the comparison.

Do not trust them with your personal details.

My last keyboard keystroke and they were ringing me

If I wanted to speak to someone I would have called. I had provided all of the information required and asked for quotes. No. They rang within seconds. I said I was busy which is why I was make an online enquiry - they would call back. I dont want you to call back - I want to see the quotes you promised! So tired of these comparison companies who steer you toward their best commission outcome. Its certainly not about the consumer. Dont bother!
