Update on treatment of long term A+ clients.
My wife and I have been with this Bank since 2006 approx and continue to have multiple products under a Pro Pack. Never default/late ever in 40 years. In the 2006 Era the Branch Managers delivered true client service yet today, I must have a 'please frustrate this client' button. So in last two weeks. I have the Branch Manager wanting my Insurance Business to quote (They generally ask when they see my various accounts as the insurance aspect is worth a lot). No problem, then no phone call as arranged. I follow up with email but no reply at all.... Unrelated and days later set up an inter-bank transfer and complete a business transaction with remit my advice to business. One week later I discover an immediate re credit so triage to the VISA to fix Heritage error (not even a back end rejection in banking debit/credit ledger terms). Then I get this voice from Toowoomba just who delivers an incredible one way monologue of a few minutes without a break of breath to the point I thought is was a scam caller. All I said was 'Hello' and without a break have to wait this cold caller but the mispronounce of a common company name made me realise it's my own VISA transaction. Then I inform this was as a result of Heritage's failure a week ago. The voice wants my personal details to review and I simply said you called me! The damage was already done leaving a sour taste and my apologies on my first transaction to a company I wish to deal with further. Now above may seem trivial, but over the past years, when moving large funds inter bank 10+ plus, the process is most likely met with some frustration, delay or micro issue and at best I describe as clunky IT. Last year I just wanted to move savings of over 50k ended up sitting in the local managers office who sorted it, cracker of a story. That was savings so no loan involved. My advice is avoid any joint accounts and if dealing with larger sums then you are better off elsewhere. Simple things, you will both have to attend a branch to switch from paper to electronic yet individuals can select online (Yep 2021) these little things all combine. Today I had to apologise to the company on behalf of Heritage failure as they and I had remittance from Heritage last Thursday yet they were never going to receive the funds. You can make your mind up from these review. If you have a complaint, you need to lodge with the Ombudsman as will be the only way to secure a response. I really dread my next 85K transfer of funds as it will be a more than not, an issue!
They lie about being "people first"
Been with this syndicate for over 10 years. I was originally happy with them but they changed for the worst, I applied for a loan a few years ago and they gave out my personal information to a member of my family who had no business knowing, I fell into hardship when a family member was hospitalized and I couldn't work but they had no problem just transferring money through my accounts wiping them clean before my payday when I had agreed to catch up, They also decided over the phone to increase repayments towards my loan by $40 per week making...it massively in front of my repayments (but I had to borrow money from friends to put food on the table) and they cut my ability to redraw the excess money. I respect I fell behind due to temporary hardship and I caught up, but am still paying a high price for it even though I dont owe money. The person on the line did not give me a chance to explain when he told me and he just said "this is how it is and that's final" absolutely no compassion at all even though I nearly lost my wife and unborn baby during that time. Don't use this bank, they are not transparent and make you believe everything is amazing at first then they treat you badly if you need their help.. They are not people first, that is false advertising and these tactics is what make good people commit suicide over stress so I beg anyone that sees this to look somewhere else, you will save a lot of heartache in the long run. Every time you see a story of someone killing themselves over financial hardship, think of this bank.. that is how bad they are.

I really want to leave CBA after near 36 years with them. This was my first stop. Based off these beyond shocking reviews I’ll keep looking. It’s a hard world but I think Heritage Bank better improve ASAP! We don’t want the bigger banks but you’ve got to STAND OUT for the better right?
Telling your kids we've lost our dream home
I have banked with Heritage since I was 18, and just recently some amazing family members came to me and my wife and offered to go Guarantor for us to get our first home. They had already approached Heritage and discussed the loan. What amazing people!!! And that is where the romantic side stopped. We went to Heritage met with a loan officer, filled out all appropriate paperwork and got the ball rolling... You are good for $700K they came back and said.
What did we do? Found our dream home, made the owners an offer, they accepted, happy days. ...
ATM didn’t dispense my money for my daughter’s birthday on a weekend FURIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!
Used a Heritage Bank ATM at Clifford Gardens Toowoomba. I wanted to withdraw $350 for a party for my daughter. The dispenser kept making noises for around 2 minutes. The money was not dispensed I am so angry this has never happened at any atm and I’ve traveled all over the world and used them. If the money is not in my account ASAP I’m changing banks.

Heritage branch at Springwood in QLD has outstanding service. Every time I go there, the staff are caring and so professional. Michael went above and beyond in helping me get my transaction through as smoothly as possible. WELL DONE everyone, you bring back days of old where your genuine interest in helping others shines through!!!!
Should have stayed with commenwelth
After a store refused to issue my refund after receipt issued and refund approved, I went into my local branch to see what my options were, well that was a waste of fuel, we can't do anything we can't see the transaction, refused to help because I was a online transaction, I'll be going back to the big 4 that's for sure
Extremely poor, could not even start the process for a Mortage!
I tried to apply for a mortgage with Heritage and I followed up over 10 times across a three-week period and they simply couldn't take all my completed forms and submit them to credit. Dont waste your time with a bank that obviously doesn't care!
Excellent Home Loans and Credit Card rates lower than the big 4 Banks. Excellent Customer Service.
Have been Switched to Heritage Bank Home Loans and Credit Cards as being with ME Bank for more than 16 years. We were 2 years into a 5 year fixed loan which was 4.1% but they wanted $6270.00 to break account and would not help so had to change to Heritage Bank as home loan rate is 2.7%. There was no application fee and one of the best home loans rates around and cheaper than the big 4 banks. Plus changed our credit cards to Heritage which was cheaper than ME Bank. 100% recommend others to try Heritage Bank Home Loans and Credit Cards and the staff for the ease of getting loans through. Have been with Heritage Bank over 20 years but was loyal to Me Bank which ended up a big mistake. 100% recommend Kippa Ring Branch.
Worst bank in Australia
Have used this bank for 6 years, cannot wait to leave. Terrible service and endless mistakes, would never recommend them to anyone. Amazing how many other people say the same thing when you tell them of your experiences.
I accompanied a friend to heritage bank who needed to have a bank cheque done. My friend told staff at door he needed a bank cheque for $500.Firstly staff at door asked what are you buying? Then teller said: who told you to do this( get a bank cheque), my friend told her its to the insurance, the teller said: if you didn't cause the accident then you don't pay any excess. My friend said: yes I caused the accident.
What's will all the questions by staff?
Its none of staff business why someone needs a bank cheque. My friend has deposited cheques to the bank over the years and staff ask him: where did you get the money from?
Outrageous Settlement Fees on Loan Accounts
I have been with Heritage Bank for a long time now. I have 3 loans under the same account (fixed and 2 variables) I am in the process of refinancing out of Heritage as they were not able to offer me better rate. They are charging me $300 per loan = $900 as disbursement/admin. fee on top of break costs which is absolutely ridiculous compared to other banks. Spoke to someone in Headoffice and they redirected to the manager at Springfield who was very rude and was not willing to listen. Not happy with how this is being handled. Sorry but its NOT People first anymore.
Check on transaction
I needed to change banks about 3 years ago. Just due to location I went with Heritage. I use Kippa Ring branch and have always found staff helpful and polite. Also only to willing to help with anything I needed. Today I purchased a new computer online, a larger transaction than I most often make. Staff from head office phoned to check I had made transaction. Very well done on taking steps for security for a customer. I very highly recommend your bank to anyone. Sorry I have forgotten name of lady who phoned me. Thank you Heritage.
People First, what a joke
I have been a loyal customer for over 30 years with Heritage Bank. A $4500 fraud investigation that took 4 months to investigate when I was told it would be 60 working days if not sooner to finalise.
Heritage this year informed me via email that I did not conduct these transactions. Heritage stated that they would only refund half the money via email, what a joke, People First... Made a complaint and informed via email, unless instructed by authorities they are unable to refund the remaining money as I am partially to blame. Hang on, I was inf...
Lack of knowledge and staff who appear unhelpful. Would not recommend this bank.
Been a customer for six years. Staff have a distinct lack of knowledge and they appear very unhelpful unless you present in person. Their call centres have extremely long wait times and branch staff are way too slow. I would norecommend Heritage bank at all.
