Hisense A6G Series

Pretty good 4K TV – Wanted a lower cost TV for spare room - compared to other "cheap" TV's around this size, this TV seemed well specced up and reasonable price for what it offers. Its 4K 50" (129cm) TV with 60hz refresh rate (std. refresh, nothing too flash). If you are looking for a gaming TV there is no 120Hz and no HDMI 2.1, so need to look elsewhere - its easy to set out of the box, the menus and remote responds fairly well - I have seen some reviewers say the operating system is clunky and slow to respond, as have reviewers commented on the slow function with WIFI connection but mine connected quickly and operated fine on WIFI (lot of variables here, manual recommends <10metres from the router, but it depends on the strength of your router, obstacles etc. - if any problems with this, I would simply run an ethernet cable from the TV back to the modem / router). I haven't tried any serious 4K material yet other than a YouTube clip which worked fine - I would say that for the money paid for this TV the picture quality is very good whilst not stellar. In HDR mode and general viewing the brightness is not over the top, but for SDR viewing its very good, and the brightness and contrast is not too bad, but hey it doesn't pretend to be anything its not and for the average viewer, the TV will perform more than adequately. Couldn't find much detail on whether its backlit or edge lit, but I think its LED backlight (no local dimming) which gives fairly good uniformity across the screen. Also believe its a VA panel so if viewing angle is needed to be "wide" then may need to consider another model (with IPS screen) It has plenty of source inputs and the HDMI 1 is also an ARC channel. There is 3 HDMI connections, ethernet, USB (2) and even has analogue RCA connection for older equipment plug in. The remote control is very functional and has buttons for Netflix, Prime, Kayo, YouTube, i-view etc. which is handy. Its almost bezel free, screen goes almost to the edge, is std. 300mm x 200mm Vesa mount and is easily mountable to wall bracket - it only weighs 9.8kg without the stands so its no weight on the wall.
Pros: Very good value TV - good features for the cost Well built for the price bracket (surprisingly well built) Pretty good picture - most people wouldn't find too much fault in normal viewing Virtually edgeless design, no big bezel Smart TV, works well on WIFI Lightweight, easily mountable on wall bracket Easy to use, menus etc. all simple and intuitive
Cons: Screen is a little reflective with backlight (filtering not high) Refresh rate 60HZ (but not unexpected at this price point) VA panel may not suit people who need wide viewing angles Screen filtering doesn't handle reflections from back lit areas as well as it could
