I purchased this fridge 2 years ago. I fell in love with the looks and design. Reviews at the time were good. Within 4 months a circuit board died and affected the cooling. I manged to get that done under warranty. 12 months later the compressor died due to a leak somewhere in the walls of the fridge. There were no compressors in Australia. Covid hit and anything from overseas was impossible. Unfortunately Hi Sense would not cover the compressor repalcement as it was purchased through Grays. Repair man said it would be costly to try and find the leak somewhere inside the panels. My "dream" fridge is now at the scrap merchant. Really Really saddend by the whole process.
Purchased in July 2018 for $1,600.00.
Not worth the money!
I have been told fridges usually last over 10 years and this fridge has disappointed me. I have never changed the temperature of the fridge but a while ago I noticed the food in the fridge defrosting so I decided to turn it down two degrees and it literally froze everything in the fridge.
Nice fridge, for two months.
We bought this fridge January 2017 and had to hire scaffolding and demolish an external wall, balcony railing and remove doors to get it in, which was fine, you get this with new fridges in older houses, we loved the design and the price was great compared to others.
Within a week of unboxing it the door seal had a tear (January 30th) and it was three weeks before a tech came to fix it (February 19th), hisense sent him the wrong seal. Almost a month later (March 17th), with no communication, hisense sent us a text saying we'd been approved ...for a replacement, since it was just a seal we decided to just have it repaired instead of going through the ordeal of getting it out of our house, which we called to tell them (March 27th) after 5 business days we still hadn't heard from the tech who is supposed to contact us within 48 hours and by this time our fridge had stopped cooling (March 31st). We called April 1st to alert Hisense to the fridge failing. Technician arrived April 4th, hisense had again provided an incorrect seal and the technician was not familiar with hisense fridges as he is a Samsung tech. Fridge was 17 degrees when it was set to 2, one freezer was -10 and the other -9, both set to -18. He advised us to get a refund as it likely has an electrical fault related to the main board. We called hisense immediately after he had left, they asked if we had had a hisense tech look at it after we explained the tech was a Samsung tech and we explained that we've only had techs they organised, they had taken a replacement off the table until they heard from the technician, who had to drive 300km to us. We are fortunate to have a large esky and separate freezer, but we had already lost several hundred in food and medication as we had recently done a big shop with enough food to last us for most of a month (it's 70km to the nearest supermarket). It is a beautiful fridge, quiet and it did keep food fresh for a long time, but a two month old fridge shouldn't stop working. We called Hisense multiple times for two days and they told us they didn't have a resolution and we couldn't speak to the people who decide on a resolution but they would definitely contact us that day (this is false information, as we can speak to management, but not one of the reps would put us through and told us to just email, no one ever called us until we emailed). At 4:45 pm, April 5th, the management had gone home so we couldn't speak to anyone and hisense didn't seem to understand that the tech they sent didn't repair it, because he didn't know how to repair a Hisense fridge, and our food is still spoiling. It took two days of calling and harassing Hisense to get any form of resolution (April 6th) - a store return. They will only provide $300 worth of compensation despite us having hundreds more in medications and food lost, we are out of food and have nowhere to store food or those medications so I now have a systemic infection going uncontrolled since I cannot store the medication anywhere. ACCC guidelines say compensation should put you in the position you would have been in if the goods worked as they should have, but Hisense has told us to go to VCAT if we want that, their general attitude has been terrible since they realised we wanted a refund so we could buy a different brand.

Brought in July 2017 so of course my 3 year warranty is over. In the last few months I have noticed puddles of water at the foot of the fridge. Could not work out why as fridge and freezer was working well. Now all of sudden fridge is not cooling but the freezer is fine. Have you an thoughts on where we should check.
hi,julie, I think you fridge has same problem.my fridge compressor is working ,but won’t get cooler, because somewhere leaking, it’s hard to find,and cost a lot to repair!your fridge just over warranty,you should still cover by warranty,no one buy something expect broken just after warranty!call consumer affairs to complain.sorry can’t help you out!

It's a great looking fridge but we are. Having trouble with the right hand door on the fridge not staying open no matter what we do. It's so annoying because we can't open the right hand crisper or the large eco fresh pantry drawer...(The very thing we loved most about it)
I see this seems to be a common issue with this fridge in the black, white and stainless.
Love to know if anyone has been able to overcome the same issue. Cheers
yes, many people have had the same problem with this.
i got in touch with HiSense and had a 'verbal' battle with them before they got a local service agent to come have a look at it.
HiSense must have told him the cause because he came with the required replacement part which was a spring 'thing' that sits in the top hinge cover of the offending door and it was fixed in less than 10 minutes and was covered by warranty.
upon saying that, a couple of years later the fridge section stopped cooling, the freezer section was still working ok but not cooling the fridge, I had to keep placing bags of ice in the fridge section to keep the stuff cold while a new part was ordered, this took 8 weeks to arrive and in the meantime I kept replacing the bags of ice. when the replacement part arrived it took about half an hour or so to practically 'strip' the fridge to get to the part, funny but the replacement part only cost about $3:50 according to the service guy, just thought you should be aware of that problem might occur.
after all said and done, it is a good unit, and spacious, and HiSense did look after me in regards to repairs
