Cute little thing on my dashboard
Get off my window! normally that's what I say to window-mounted car electronic devices. For those to dare to have wires running all over my car I say things lot worse. Anyway, this is not one of those.
VIVA is cute, that's my first impression. The design is smooth and the control knob gives your fingers a very solid feeling. One thing i really was appreciated is that VIVA does not have unnecessary functions. Well I know there're products on the market that not only allows you to enjoy digital radio (yet they claimed to call themselves digita...l radio players), they also get your iPhone/iPod running and charges them, they have day/night version that gives you different coloured lights and some of that even has a EQ sound quality adjustment system. Did I mention I just want to be able to listen to digital radio? oh VIVA you heard me, so lets get out of here. In terms of operation, about 90% time you use the control knob, press, press&hold, turn left or right. It remembers the last radio station you're in before turn off the vehicle and next morning when you ready to go to work, it plays the same radio from last night. Reception is better than I thought. I've seen digital radios get installed in cars like you buried them somewhere close to the earth core, cos they just went 'bizzzz' and you never gotta hear from them again. VIVA had problem when you drive through pacific highway near Artarmon in sydney since that's where the tower is, the tower shooting all the digital radio signals. In this case, VIVA's antenna is too sensitive. When the signal is very strong it overwhelms the system.
