Engine making a tapping sound when I accelerate. Any ideas?

id be taking it to a machanic straight could have done a bottom end

Hi , I am not a mechanic but it seems to me to be crankshaft bearing, or connecting rod bearing, especially seeing as you put the engine under load by accelerating. Best see your mechanic for his opinion

My car is a s/c vx calais. My problem is the battery goes flat randomly. The battery is new and there is no obvious problems. Hope you can help. Greg.

Hi Greg
Apart from the obvious that you have fitted a low amp battery the security system does use a bit of power when not using car
you could fit an isolating switch at the battery end ,i used to disconnect battery lead on VT commodore if left for long at airport

Also check the boot and glovebox light switch

Thanks mate for the reply. Yes ive checked the boot ect. lights. Ive had many batterys and not them at fault. Im thinking a short somewhere maybe. I was hoping it was a easy fix common problem in the vx's. The way its so random makes me think a short but can a short drain a battery in half a day. Again thanks for your help

Hi I have a vx ss auto insurance was driving it and everything seemed fine and then it cut out while driving no warning lights nothing and now it won't turn back on what could that be???
