The Holden Cruze is a piece of Crap!

I purchased a Holden Cruze brand new in December 2016 with a five year factory warranty. The car has always been serviced by the book and has in fact had extra oil changes every 6 months. Since new I have only travelled 37700 Km. The check-engine light is on. Holden Dealers have diagnosed it. Replaced many engine parts. Total cost to me nearly $3500 and guess what the engine light is still on. I complained to Holden Customer Care but they simply washed their hands off the issue. They just do not care. The car is only out of warranty by about 12 months. Customer Care just do not care. Never buy a Holden vehicle ever again! Show details

Rubbish

I my opinion the biggest load of rubbish to hit the streets with all the recalls, overheating, transmission problems and various other flaws. Drive one (eject yourself first though) over a cliff.

Its not that great

I brought this car brand new for my first car. it uses so much petrol its ridiculous and its sluggish. Theres a rattle in the door that holden keeps telling me doesn't exist and the Engine light keeps coming on atleast once a month, so holden keeps taking the car back for nearly the whole weekend.

Great car

Great car to drive, has a good turning circle, ice cold air conditioning , can handle high speeds on the highway easily and the reverse sensors are really helpful. I find that there is sufficient leg room in the front and back. The controls on the dashboard and steering wheel are easy to use and understand and the Bluetooth was easy to set up. Overall I would say this is a reliable, well priced car for anyone

Awesome car

Driving the Cruze around and just as it names says it cruzie it has a very smooth ride and the suspension helps you have a pleasant experience. The interior is fairly basic but my car the 2013 Equipe has a touch screen which has radio, phone connection, sticker radio and pandora leg room is ok as well. One thing that is a bit annoying is that the seats are a bit hard so my passengers often complain about that.

The Cruze is fair cheap to run and has good fuel economy usually get 8.9L/100km but that depends on how you drive and you could possibly get it down to 8 4L/100km.

Second review on this model - don't buy it

Even if it's cheap to buy as a second hand car - don't buy it, especially the diesel model.

The transmission has dropped all fluid twice requiring weeks to get replaced due to poor coupling with the diesel drivetrain. It doesn't engage in gear after being selected when switching between reverse and drive which cause the car to roll in slopey parking lots. The turbo lag is hideous and unsafe. The steering is quite heavy and the stereo requires a factory reset every week or so because it runs out of Ram and can't be cleared with a simple power off and on.

The rattles are everywhere and they can't be fixed - don't buy one!

Great car

I have found this car to be reliable and easy on the fuel in long distance.

The performance of this car in wet and dry conditions is very remarkable and handles very well in both conditions.

The only thing I would as is the speedo in the equip to be made digitally and also manual if they wanted to and also to put a left foot step on the floor so you can rest your left foot on it.

It is easy on the fuel and if you keep the service up to the vehicle like any vehicle they will run really good

What is error code 136 means while in reverse gear?

QueenNZ

Hello there, I own Holden Cruze equipe 2014 model. I bought it brand new always serviced from local dealer and never had any issues with it until I had a crash. Rear left panel is badly damaged in crash and this damage to rear panel has not only caused reversing sensors but it also affected all electronics including the main control panel with radio and CD player, there is no sounds, not even indication sound when indicator is on, no light any response on main screen of control panel, no Holden logo, no my link, nothing,,,,, it's completely dead. Can someone please,, please,, please,, tell what may have happened? Are these electronics are interlinked? As per one of the technician, this car's parking assist module is located behind the left rear panel (damaged in crash) which may have been damaged or malfunctioned due to crash damage and may have caused malfunctioned to main control centre / radio. No one yet has had a physical check on wiring or park assist module for any physical damage. Insurance is trying to shrug the shoulders by saying this is not crash related. PLEASE,,, PLEASE,,, advise how can I prove this to insurance that is all linked to crash and hence a consequence due to the impact and damaged rear panel.
