This company is a scam
Provided me with the cheapest price for a rental, confirmed the booking then canceled it a few days later and offered credit on their website to book a more expensive car... It's a con.
Thankfully I clicked and paid extra for the 'refund' option, so after a long phone call to the Netherlands and 4 days later I got a refund. Avoid at all costs.
They appear to be competitive but prices are USD not AUD. This is not mentioned on their Booking page. Tried to cancel our car hire due to COVID-19 restrictions and was informed that we would have to pay a $55.86USD cancellation fee. We could have opted for a Voucher but due to the fact that this company is difficult to contact, we decided we did not want to use them in the future, EVER.
This is a deceptive third party car hire broker service based in the Netherlands. They have no contacts in Australia and they are next to impossible to contact by phone. HIRER BEWARE!!
I requested a booking through holidaycars.com for a car at Tullamarine Airport in Melbourne 24 hrs prior to departure. The voucher i received for my car collection was at Avalon Airport in Melbourne (50km away). I contacted holidaycars.com prior to collection time that this error had been made and was informed i couldn't change my booking within 72 hrs therefore had to forfeit my car hire with no reimbursement. Extremely dissapointed, would not reccomend.
I have been renting cars for 15 years and never found a poorer company. Awful customer service (you have to deal with their branch in Amsterdam) and won't inform you of hidden costs until booking is complete. Avoid

My experience was that once payment has been taken they are the most unhelpful organisation that I have dealt with by a country mile!
I needed to add a date to my booking of a vehicle with Hertz in Brisbane (yes, pay MORE money) and so tried to amend. Finding that I was unable to do so through the website I decided to cancel and then rebook with the extra day. I would point out that I have done this with other companies without issue.

Unfortunately sites like Syk Scannar shows cars from them. I booked a car from Sydney to Brisbane and also took cancellation insurance. They charged me money while booking and then within few minutes emailed me informing that I will have to pay extra $300.
So I cancelled the booking and then they said it will take them 8 working days to do the refund. I really do not care when they will refund the money (as I can always reach out to my bank) but it is just that they did not inform me about ext...ra charges while booking and now they wanna use my money for 8 working days. Alarm bells!!! So doddgy! Stay away please from them. I am so glad that I took the cancellation insurance. I think they show good rates and get bookings and then email people for extra charges and always keep cancellation insurance money. Very wrong in today's competitive world. I know that soon they will disappear as they will not be able to do this for long.
Worst car booking company in the world! Took my money, did not receive a booking reference number or invoice and does not respond to customer emails.
Tried calling to talk to customer representative but no one ever picks up. Good luck if you book with them, you might not get a car.
Worst car hire ever
Holidaycars is the worst experience from a car rental company I have ever had. Arrived an hour late to pickup car due to late flight and was told that the car had been released as I hadn't arrived within the two hour pickup window. This information was not disclosed to me at the time of booking but I'm told can be found in the small print of the terms and conditions, I'm yet to find it...
Spoke to support but they were super unhelpful and insisted that they couldn't help with another car and I couldn't get a refund.

Booked online saw a late model Honda Civic booked it, paid for it and received invoice for Honda Civic.
At BKK airport found this company had ordered me a Toyota Altis. I received a 2011 altis, 1600cc gas guzzler with 128k in the clock.
The response from this company is just pure arrogance and no customer service skills at all.
Use one of the many other companies , this mob are the worst I have dealt with. Close to scam artists.

All I can say is ****BUYER BEWARE***** I booked through Kayak on 2/15/18 and I thought I was booking through Thrifty, which the website stated. I made a huge mistake when it took me to a third party site, Holidaycars.com. I should have known better when it asked me for my credit card but I wanted to make sure I had a car reserved. I booked the car for three days at LAX. My wife informed me later that we could use my daughters car for two days so I needed to change the reservation. I could not get through to Holidaycars.com and could not ...change the reservation on their website. When I arrived at Thrifty I again stated that I needed to change the reservation to one day but they spend an hour and could not. They gave me a new reservation. When I dropped the car off I again notified them that I needed to change the reservation. The agent said he took care of it. On my credit card I saw that I had been charged for three days from Holidaycars.com and one day from Thrifty. After numerous calls to both, Holidaycar.com is based in the Netherlands, they noted their fine print and would not reimburse me. Therefore, trying to save a only a few dollars costed me $177. I thought by using a legit website like Kayak and car company like Thrifty I would be protected but I was wrong. I can only tell you about my experience so you can make your own determination.

I made a complain about a car I couldn’t rent it 2 month ago. Since then they promised me to solve my problem in 28 days, but didn’t get that. First they delayed, then asked for clarifications to which I promptly responded and now they are not even answering my email.
Holidaycars seems to be one of the worst web shopping experience I have ever had.
No car, no money back, no response!

I was trying to find a good rate for a car hire from Brisbane Airport, so used a hire comparison site, unfortunately I used HolidayCars. They had a good rate thru hertz from inside the airport. Booked and paid. Later was emailed that car wasn't available and offered another. But didn't mention the new car was located outside the airport and was a car share service. I emailed to cancel the booking and 3 days later they reply saying sorry, you didn't take out cancellation insurance and kept my money. They are quick to reply before you pay but after you pay there is nothing.
