Flat tyre fixed in minutes
Stuck far from home with a pop rivet sticking out of the back tyre of my motorcycle. Tyre is pancake flat. Fortunately, the local servo (an easy walk) stocked Holts TyreWeld ($16.95). This is a spray can full of a water-based sealing substance that you pump into your flat tyre after you've removed the nail/rivet/whatever. It pumps up the tyre and fills the tube or tubeless tyre straight away. Follow the easy instructions carefully. I'm told this stuff will not damage the tyre like some other brands and while Holts say to get the tyre repaired p...roperly at earliest opportunity, this is them covering their butts. Because mine was a minor puncture and a small, clean hole, I'm happy to leave the tyre as is and just monitor it carefully. A car has a spare tyre, but changing a spare with the supplied jack and tools can be a pain. And what if your spare is flat or you are in a tricky location? Of course, if you have a major leak with a big hole (they say larger than 5mm), TyreWeld will not fix it. You're stuck. Please note, I have not been paid or otherwise induced to write this review. I'm just so happy it worked :)
Purchased in May 2021 at AMPOL Service Station for $16.95.
