Construction is great, Pre construction is Poor.
The build was great and went by very smoothly. We had huge problems with out preliminary works consultant who neglected to tell us that our slab had to be situated 2 metres back due to council provisions. We were not made aware until after the final drafts were signed and we were stuck with a back yard that is 6m as opposed to 9m. All of our plans for our yard were no longer possible... to say we were severely disappointed and angry would be an understatement.
Anything is great up until the moment the contracts are signed
Pre construction and design was a breeze, couldn’t fault it. Once construction started though things changed rapidly, we didn’t get the weekly build updates we were promised by our client liaison coordinator and had to chase our site supervisor for any queries to be answered. Since lock up We had issues with lost emails, wrong paint colours, Below average quality tradesmanship, less then adequate communication and now, 4 weeks Post handover, gutters have started leaking, screws fall out door posts, nails are coming through the carpet and so on. We didn’t get an inspection of the property until it was 99% completed even after many attempts to organise a time. In summary we feel it was a below average quality build.
First Home Buyer
Buying our First House has been one amazing experience. Homebuyers have been helpful but there are a lot of areas to improve.
If you are a First home Buyer and not sure how/where to start, Homebuyers are must recommended.
From the first step to the last, they have got everything covered. But I believe there are still a number of items that needs to be added.
We did hit quite a few road bumps along the way due to the Communications which was handled well by the Management but not to the satisfaction
They do have all the services under one roof -...
A bit disappointed
Our site manager ensure all defects will be fixed within 3 months after the hand over. Unfortunately, after we moved in , we have sent emails to Homebuyers more than twice to follow up. However these issues are still not resolved yet. Three stars because of we had very nice first home by homebuyers Centre but the second home is a bit disappointing.
50/50: Poor paint and incomplete product
I have built three investment properties with HBC.
The sales team up in Mount Duneed are excellent. The communication was great and signing contracts and choosing colours, was quick and easy process.
The developer had issues so that delayed when the land titled. HBC did look after alot of customers and didn't increase the cost of the build by to much which was greatly appreciated.
I would highly recommend having your own building inspector check the works done at each stage of the build.
My building inspector found wall framing that wasn't...
Good start and a mix experience
From sales appointment to start of the build was great, the sales consultant [name removed] was very helpful. I had a good experience during pre start appointment and colour selection time . The assistance and service provided during documentation stage was excellent.
During site preparation / slab stage I was informed by the site supervisor (slab stage) to remove part of the fence. Again I was been asked to remove another portion of same fence during construction stage. Both could be done in one go. Our land already had timber fencing for ...left and rear sides and also the right side with garage coming to the boundary. (The neighbours property was also at finishing stages by HBC at the time ). Boundaries were clear and there was no need for a survey. However, I learnt that HBC had a re establishment survey conducted prior to land settlement…and was been charged 1K..which was a complete waste. I believe this amount has to be refunded (as a variation ) and expect the management will attend to this. I was happy with the construction process and the site supervisor was helpful. However, I had to remind certain tasks assigned at finishing stages repeatedly. E.g. Driveway was not sealed and ended up doing a floppy job just before rain (this was done after handover). Landscaping was pretty average and the drainage pipes at the front were kept open and drainage caps were not installed. Even though these are minor stuff , I suppose HBC will take these things seriously and address accordingly. This way it will improve the customer satisfaction level . Overall, I feel that HBC could do better in terms of service and attention to detail in this case . I look forward to the feedback from management.

The office/liaison staff have been helpful along the building process and happy to respond to any questions. We would highly recommend anyone building employ and independent building inspector to assess each stage of the build, as we encountered and still are encountering ongoing poor workmanship on the build which some of the items not meeting Australian standards, some site managers have been better than others at addressing these concerns and communicating. We did find that the company were not wanting to take any ownership of any of the defects so did make the building process stressful.

How well managed was your build?
My build was not managed will for 80% of the time after our site manager damaged many of the townhouses. When [name removed] and [name removed] (site managers) took over the build went very well. They are both fantastic to deal with.
How was the workmanship and build quality of your property?
When [name removed] and [name removed] took over the quality was very good and I was happy with their communication with us.
If you had any issues pre, post , or during construction, how satisfied are you with how the company handled them?
The team in the office were fabulous and easy to deal with.
Homebuyers centre handled issues very well. They were open and honest. Thanks Homebuyers Centre.
Few hiccups but happy with the end result
I'll start with the pro's;
-Highly affordable for first home buyers, great entry level
-Customer Service excellent during build.
-Actual build time approximately 4 months
-My land took 1.5 years to title, it went 7 months over the initial date.
-Handover of keys was done at the city office. When I first entered my completed house it had been broken into, all appliances including hot water system stolen, and a trail of mess.
-Homebuyers have rectified most of the damage and replaced items however still not complete (over 2 months ...
Not Happy with the Final Experience!!
In terms of the workmanship, build quality, management of our build, customer service and support everything was good and we were really happy with our site supervisor.
This is up until the point when we moved in and things did not go smoothly:
*Water coming through one of our ducts because the pipes weren't connected properly.
*We also had issues with the commissioning of our heating & cooling.
*Front door lock was put on the wrong way around, which meant our house was unlocked for 3 days.
*TV cable had a short in the cable (we ended u...

Quality was reasonable with some minor issues but mostly rectified. [name removed] provided good follow up to ensure all items were rectified. It was all ok until after we took over the keys. Just took over the house and found that external doors seal were not complete, allowing cold draft air into the house. One of the deadbolt locks could not be used and HB had to reorder a new set, which will take a week or more to arrive. Upon completion of concrete around the house, we discovered that the heater (which was installed on the day of handover) was leaking water. Currently awaiting these works to be rectifiredby HB.
Happy with my new home!
Dealing with HBC has been so easy! Madison (my consultant) and Jason (my site manager) were easy to communicate with and they were always very helpful. Had a few bumps along the way, especially with the final walkthrough, but everything was fixed very quickly and to my specifications. The entire process was quick, efficient and I can’t wait to step inside my brand new home!
February 5th 2019 Update: 6 month update on newly built home
6 month update: Things have started to fall apart a little bit. I'm noticing a lot of cracks in the skirting b...oards throughout my house, and there are two long plastic seals at the top of my garage door that keep falling out. I just think that my house was rushed. The joining of shelves to wall is rough, the amount of paint I found on my floorboards and tiles was disappointing. The skylight cover in my bathroom randomly fell off one day due to poor fixing. My front door is not sealed properly and causes my bedroom door to open and close when it is windy. There is a light in my laundry that doesn't work. My dishwasher cavity wasn't level and we had to knock it out a bit to get the dishwasher to fit in properly. As a first home buyer, I admit that a lot of the things I'm noticing now were missed by me in the beginning, but having actually lived in the house for six months, there are issues coming up that I don't believe should be happening in the first six months of owning a brand new home. Despite having great customer service throughout the build process, I would not recommend HBC. I would definitely not build with them again. It's all very average.
Great at time of build but afterwards we had troubles
During our build I cannot complain, service was fantastic & we were extremely happy with our new home. After moving in & then again a few years later we had some issues with plastering on ceiling and walls & the grout in the showers which disappeared. The service when requesting these be fixed, I cannot say was the same. We had a lot of push back when trying to have these issues fixed and I was even at one stage blamed for the grout disappearing.... In the end we had to threaten legal action to have our shower fixed and we still have lumps & bu...mps all over our walls. The shower has been fixed now but to what standard, we will see in time I guess. I honestly don't know we would build with Homebuyers again knowing the difficultly we went through trying to have things fixed that should of been done correctly at the start. All I suggest is that you have your own person check all work before signing off.

Bit of a hard process, love the outcome though
The build was good and a smoothish process. Terrible paint job thought and still noticing things wrong with it now. Also poor quality window frames. Other than that everything else is great and the foreman was great help throughout the build process.
The build was very well managed. Any issues we had were sorted within a couple days.
Service and support was average. We were helped with the questions we had although the help we received was not very helpful at all. The beginning and pre start stage was the worst out of all, we were told litt...
Great build, ordinary hand over.
We had a very good build, with limited problems.
We enjoy watching our house get built, and it happened very quickly.
The only issues we had was when it came to handover.
The day we received the keys our house was not cleaned, we had no power as the fuse from inside the electricity box was gone, and our recycling taps had been cut so our toilets were not running etc.
We thought we would be walking into a nice new beautiful home - which it was however due to the cleaning not happening and all these other issues it made the first week and abs...

Has anyone build indigo 25 with home buyers center?
What was cost of base build?
Hi there, we are looking to build with HBC, off the plan townhouse project in Donnybrook. Anyone here had experience with Resolve finance and long term contract? We are due to pay the 5% deposit soon but completion of project is not for several months. We have not yet seen the contract. I have asked about including a 'subject to finance' clause for peace of mind but have yet to hear back...
