I suffer from a form of asthma that is relieved by humid air during winter, I purchased this unit to replace a smaller unit.Read morejusting it I sometimes wake up to a room that is too damp and I find it ineffective.
There is a setting for increasing or decreasing the amount of mist released. This appears to work OK but on different occasions the amount of mist visible is different. I am not sure if this is just a difference in visibility caused by the ambient conditions or a machine malfunction. Also I don't get
The water container is easily removed and contains a good deal of water enabling it to be used over several days without refilling. I have had it only 2 weeks now and it hasn't required a thorough cleaning. The inside of the container is not accessible and I worry that this might present a cleaning problem later.
The water container slides into the unit where there is a reservoir, if this becomes flooded (by bumping the unit for example) is stops working. First time this happens I thought it was broken but the excess water simply needs to be mopped up.
There is a handy light which can be turned on or off. Both is and the display are blue, which is considered to be the least disruptive colour for sleep.
Overall I am pleased with the greater vapour output that the unit provides but disappointed that it cannot be better controlled. I am think that a manual should have been provided either in paper or electronic form.
Mine came with a quick start guide but no full manual. I also could not find a manual on the Homedics website.
