At relatively low mileage with all servicing completed, motor needs to be replaced which I am advised is common problem with Honda V6. Would like to hear from others that may have same problem Show details

Spacious, good handling and interior quality is high

Mine is a V6 full spec model. I should say that the interior quality is top notch. All surface of the doors are soft. The center arm rest is very soft too. The VCM saves some fuel and the gas mileage is good for an engine of this size.
However, the front passenger seat is not the best. Feels like sitting in a pit. Wish it had height adjustability. Driver seat is marginally better due to height adjustment. This car is not suitable for long drives and older drivers.

The feel is good and it handles really well. Responsive and good feed back from steering. Show details

A Lemon

Family car . Drive it every day ,serviced regularly by Honda Dealership as per Log Book. The car was a dud from moment of purchase. Very stiff steering and sluggish performance . Accelerator action was delayed. After three years, sun roof began to rust and had to be replaced . The inbuilt SatNav Navigator stopped working after 4 years ( was quoted $5,000 to fix) . The Odometer stopped working after 11 years ( 190,000kms) $1,042 to fix . It consumes oil at one litre per month. A peice of metal trim bordering windscreen flew off and had to be replaced ( faulty glue) cost $220.
HONDA have lost the art of making a fine car. Interior design was comfortable and adequate. The stereo sound system is good. Show details

Amazing luxury family sedan

I have a 2008 Honda Accord V6, I bought it in 2011 from Yarra Honda with 34,000 kms, 9 years later it has 119,000 and its still a joy to drive. The rear seat space is ridiculously spacious, particularly leg room and the boot is massive. The console and controls are absolutely fantastic to look at and use. Performance is fantastic. Only issue was a leaky power steering pump at about 80,000 kms ($380 for a rebuild at a Honda dealer) and an alternator failure at 110,000 kms (about $700 by independent mechanic). Apart from those two items a joy to drive. Just make sure to put the RIGHT oil in the engine and gearbox and this is such a magnificent and rewarding car. Show details ·  1

Hasn't missed a beat in 10 years !

My euro included as standard every option available at the time. It has been the most reliable car I have owned and the most comfortable. A return trip Melbourne to Perth across the Nullarbor was an armchair drive all the way. If the current models are even half as good they would be worth buying! The only maintenance in over 110,000 has been the normal wear and tear things (tyres, brakes etc). A really great example of a luxury touring car at an affordable price. Show details

Lemon - Unreliable car - Stay Away

I have owned Honda for about 7 years, always serviced from agency and around 90000 km. The engine spark plugs got oil in them at 95000 and engine is about to cease. For a car that has done 90000 K this is absolutely a lemon and will recommend customers to stay away from such a car. COST OF REPAIR 5 Grand. Always prefer Toyota over Honda as that is a more reliable car and easily runs for 200 K without major issues.

SUCH A DISAPPOINTMENT. SHAME ON HONDA.

Excellent

My first ever Honda! It drives smoothly, the handling is perfect, the only thing I’m not sure about is the gear that’s called “S”. But other than that it is a great car to drive. It ok for fuel and it better than my other car was. Good car to drive.

Very comfortable Car

This is the best car I have owned. It is my third Honda and they have all been excellent. I have had this 2010 Accord for 4 months and have had no issues. It is quiet and comfortable and has plenty of power. Plenty of head and leg room and a big boot. So far It is using 9.14 L per 100km which is excellent for a car this size.

Reliable family car

I owned Accord 2008 V6 Luxury for 4 years and I was happy throughout. I upgraded recently but accord was very good in every regard.

The only issue with this car (and I know many people who own Accord and they complain about the same. i.e, parts are very expensive. Hence it becomes nightmare to maintain it. You tend to leave maintenance sometimes if you're low on budget.

One of the common issues with these cars is engine mount are worn quickly.

Generally it's a good car. I won't recommend it to my family because of above issues but if you can keep up with maintenance, by all means, own this car.

Best family car ever

I bought my car during the end of financial year for $23,000, down from $29,000 typical price.

Great driving experience and acceleration.

Very good on fuel, 8L per 100km on mixed highway use.

Dashboard is good and not too plastic like the Camry.

Highly reliable and cheap maintenance cost. I got my own mobile mechanic to do the log book service.

The only bad thing is the arrogant people at Honda sales. My second time buying a Honda at dealership and they always treat people badly.

Excessive oil burner

WARNING !!!! Don't by a HONDA.

Affter only 50,000 kms Honda my Honda uses 2 + Litres of oil between regular services.

The V6 had simlar issues in USA resulting in a class action against Honda. The VCM "variable cylinder management system" caused too much oil to enter cylinders.

In my case with the 4 cylinder vti 2.4l it has worn piston rings causing excessive oil burn. This car had only 50,000 kms and used as city car with not much work. Take it to a dealer and all you will get is an offer to do a leak down test at your expense...Grrrrr

Honda are keeping quite about this fault.
