Get your car serviced elsewhere...
I had my car recently serviced at Austral Honda, and they called during the day to advise that I needed new brake pads. The total to replace these was going to bump my service from $390 to $1600 as apparently the rotors also needed to be replaced. The opinion of two other mechanics has advised that my rotors actually don't need replacing as of yet and that the total to replace the brake pads was under $350.
I used to think that I got a better service by taking my car back to Honda to get it serviced, but after this visit, there is no chance of me taking it back there to get serviced or to consider purchasing another car through this dealer.

Rip off and unprofessional
I ordered a new tyre from Northside Honda on 21/11/18 for $295. I went in to pick it up today and was given the ‘rubber’ tyre only.
I don’t know much about cars but I was expecting, either the new tyre comes with rims or that Honda will fit the tyre onto my rims.
None of the above happen. The staff just put the rubber into my car and was happy for me to drive off. I was then told there might be additional charges to put the rubber onto my rims.
After speaking with other staff members, it was confirmed that the cost of $295 includes ...the rubber tyre and fitting, but this can’t be done today so I have to go back next week. I am dissatisfied that I wasted an hour driving to Northside Honda just to be given a piece of rubber for $295, and later told that there might be additional charges for the fitting.
Rip off merchants
Purchased a used vehicle of these shonky dealers in May. It was due a timing belt at the time unbeknownst to me. They were happy to sell me the car without mention of the costly repair ($1400-$2000). When I contacted them regarding this matter they more or less said bad luck, there’s nothing you can do. Beware of this car yard. Totally unscrupulous dealers. Rip off merchants.
Rare—- excellent car dealer Scott’s Honda. Artarmon
After years dealing with Toyota dealers, we decided to try Honda, went to Scotts Honda at Artarmon. No pressure sales and we bought a Civic. Service is excellent, service staff very obliging. They do serviced while you wait. Never a problem with the service provider would have to be one of the best and most genuine car dealers we have had contact with. We had a small issue with the interior roof lining and they replaced it with no question under Warranty.
Appauling service and the staff have no interest in helping customers
Dropped off my used car to have a few issues looked at after buying it only 3 weeks earlier. They have had the car for 10 days. I have not heard a word from them since. Won't pick up my calls. Won't return my voicemail messages. Won't reply to my emails. They were rude and unhelpful when I tried to book the car in. It took a week before I finally managed to actually speak to someone. The guy I finally spoke to was so disinterested in arranging the appointment and I had to make 3 call to him as well just to get a confirmation on the booking. No ...one calls you back and now I can't seem to be able to get an update or find out if I will ever see my car again. Today I will be contacting Consumer Affairs The worst experience in a very long time. shop elsewhere and don't buy from them !
Can't Fault these guys! Excellent Quality and Service once again
After looking around at alternative vehicles and having a purchase fall through on another vehicle because the dealer couldn't deliver the vehicle when I had bank cheque in hand (that's for another review) I went to Austral Honda as my previous vehicle was a Honda and the quality and service and customer relationships have been excellent.
I'm a cash buyer and know what I want/need, have price point in mind and certain features that are a must and others that are a bonus. The GM Mark is a seasoned pro and was very good at coming back with som...e out of the box ideas which got me the car I was after and at a level where the deal was acceptable to the dealership. The Salesman Sam who finalised the paperwork and got the ball rolling was also very professional personable and very upfront and easy to deal with. Not sure why I even bothered looking at the other brand. Quality and reliability with professionalism, doesn't get much better than that for feedback if you're the dealer principal of a car dealership. Well done lads, I'll be yelling your praises from the rooftops and be passing on many recommendations.

Highly recommend Sean and Sianne of Honda Wangara
After a fraudulent and hideous customer service experience with Audi Centre Perth, I hesitantly engaged Honda Wangara to view a used vehicle that was advertised through carsales.com.au in their yard, thinking that I was going to receive similar service. All I can say is that they have restored my trust in the car industry. They were open, honest and extremely professional to deal with and took care to ensure everything was checked and as it should be. Sean went above and beyond and his personable, open nature was a refreshing shift from what...I had experienced at Audi. Sianne in finance insured all t's were crossed and i's were dotted to ensure I fully understood in layman terms the ins and outs of the deal. They are a credit to the Honda brand and I would without hesitation recommend them to anyone thinking of buying a car. Now when I look at my car I remember the excellent experience from Sean and Sianne.... not the fraudulent and arrogant experience at Audi Centre Perth.
John Blair Honda
If the Honda service centre in Prahran gets hold of your car they will be sure to suggest many expensive repairs and when you say you can't afford them they will pull the old scare tactic of roadworthiness. They wanted $500 to replace a rubber that insulates the engine vibration from the car body. When I asked to be shown the problem they said they couldn't, it was actually just a prediction of what might happen as the car gets older. How can what might happen later make the car unroadworthy now and since when is vibration grounds for unroadwor...thiness? The same thing happened with the shock absorbers. For $700 I could have more rubber replaced to prevent them rattling. Then they wanted to replace the platinum-tipped spark plugs for $95 each and for $85 they would also like to replace the wiper blades. I asked if they too were platinum-tipped. They didn't get my sarcasm and just frowned like I was crazy. I said NO to everything and now am looking around for an alternative place to maintain my car and any REAL issues it presents. My next service is the 200,000 Km @ $1,200. When I mentioned this price seemed high I was told it was my fault for keeping the car so long. I've spent $16,000 on servicing my Honda Jazz every 6 months or 5,000 km since buying it new in 2003. I asked if it was poor engineering that required such frequent servicing. My friend owns a Toyota and spends $152 every 12 months for a service. When I mentioned this to Honda they explained that Toyota Australia subsidized services to keep them so low. I remarked that Toyota was starting to look good in that case. They just stood there staring at me speechless. Oh, what a feeling!
Ferntree Gully Honda
We went there a few weeks back to check out new Honda vehicles. We were served by William and he was extremely knowledgeable on every model on display. He was patient and listened to our needs. He did not rush us into making decision, but rather explained to us why the car he recommended suits our budget and needs. We negotiated the price and was happy about the final price given. Let alone the extras threw in to seal the deal. We were then assisted by Brogan, the finance specialist. Brogan spent time with us and sorted out our complex financial situation. Overall, it was a great experience. I'd recommend anyone to visit this dealership. Great thanks to William and Brogan!
suttons homebush honda - James Choi
Can't thank staff and especially James Choi enough for their help in our recent purchase of a new Honda Civic. Everything was handled professionally and courteously and all our questions were answered honestly and with clarity. We would have no hesitation in recommending James to anyone interested in purchasing a vehicle from Suttons Homebush Honda dealership. Ron & Mary.
Alto Honda Blacktown
I have recently bought Honda HR-V from Alto Blacktown. I would like to say that service was wonderful Sale person was Tony Pereira. He was patient, easy to talk and explained everything. He even called me after a week to check if everything is OK. Would recommend to see Tony at Alto Blacktown
Honda Southside Brisbane Terrible - Should have bought a Jeep
I bought my very first new car, a manual Honda City in August 2017 from Southside Honda South Brisbane and from the start it has had a major fault in that up to 3 times, 95% of the time I or my partner drove it and slowed down or turned a corner or reversed out of the garage an alarm goes off with several error lights coming on that once including traction light, info light , engine fault light etc. This can occur up to 3 times each time I or my partner drive the car, the beep and lights are so frustrating. The car has been taken back to the S...outhside Honda dealership at least 4 times over the 9 months for repair and has never been fixed plus numerous phone calls, emails etc. A representative from Honda Australia was supposed to meet me at Southside Honda this last Fri and didn’t even show up or call. Shows their level of non service or care. We’ve had two weeks in 9 months without this error occurring. My and my partners way of driving has even been blamed several times for this error by Honda Australia despite errors showing up on their computer system when hooked up. My partner had a brand new manual 2005 Honda CRV from new and has never seen this error before and I have also been driving the same CRV since 2008 to 2017 without that same error ever occurring. Today Southside Honda offered an insulting $10,000 buy back price (they got an employee to call me and the manager didn’t even have the manners to call me himself) for a brand new car I bought in good faith for $18,800 new that is a lemon. How insulting is that. We cant even sell the car now privately as the person test driving the car will see the error lights and run for the hills plus I could never do this to anyone anyway. This experience with Southside Honda and Honda Australia has been nothing short of disgraceful and we will NEVER buy a Honda again after today. We ask for the full amount of our Hard earned $18,800 be given back to us so we can buy a new car from another brand i.e. jeep, that is not a lemon. They have wasted so much of our time and the car is getting older and the more and more time we waste with Honda nothing changes. I also have health issues and this is causing so much stress and exhaustion that I’m struggling even more with my health. We also have small children to think of, what if these errors are dangerous safety faults and one day this car severely injures or kills our family. Honda cant even find and fix the cause of the error alarms and lights and don’t seem to know what’s going on. 9 months is more than enough time for Honda to do the right thing. I am now going to the Ombudsman to take this further. Please don’t make the same mistake we did and buy a car from Honda as you could be in exactly the same position as us, promising to fix it and NEVER being able to so you’re left with a brand new car that’s a faulty lemon and no money left to buy another car and potentially putting our lives at risk.
Alto Honda Blacktown
I have been servicing my Honda Accord 2009 for 8 years, at Alto Honda Blacktown, until I discovered that they misleading and over charging, and gives you wrong diagnosis. all these years every time I confirmed with them to use a full synthetic oil, and they yes we only using a full synthetic oil, but I found out that all that time they using semi synthetic cheep oil and charges me for a full one, all other service not mechanically sound, they do not the maintenance steps that are mentioned in the service book I have to take the car to another mechanics, to be sure the job is done. I will think twice before I use their services.

No Problems with Alto Blacktown.
I recently purchased a used Honda Jazz from Alto Blacktown. I was able to negotiate the price and was very happy with the service from all staff. They were reasonable and friendly. I organised for an NRMA vehicle inspection and they had no problem with this. Overall I found that it was a good experience and am happy to recommend them.

Horrible Customer Service - Honda Roseberry
My car had an issue with automatic door and was initially quoted 3 weeks as a timeframe for having it fixed as parts were on back order. Communication was horrible, will never return calls even after you leave messages. Will not provide any updates. The saga then went from 3 weeks to another week, next Wednesday and so on until I engaged Honda to assist in getting a resolution. The dealer even tried blaming the fault on an accident which happened 2 years ago so they could avoid doing the work under Warranty. HONDA Customer service was great and...Case Manager [name removed] assisted in getting my issue resolved. It took 3 months and would have been more if HONDA was not engaged. Honda even offered and provided a courtesy Car. The dealership comment was: we don't have one. No empathy No apology. The worst was when I turned up to pick up the car and car would not start. Battery must have gone flat or died. It has been sitting with them for 3 months. They jump-started and said Battery is good it was due to light must have been left on. Simply things - Clock had not been adjusted as they had done work on the wiring in the car. It was not re-calibrated so all the systems work properly. Guess a few days later my wife got stuck outside kids school as the battery died. Once again [name removed] from HONDA came to rescue and the dealer wanted me to charge me for the battery even though they had the car for 3 months and have not handled it properly. The only reason I have Honda is that of the Honda Customer service but some of the dealers are really letting this name down..HONDA you need to do something..
Honda Service Center Hombush
Went to the Honda Service center Homebush to get the car serviced and have the wiper replaced as it was broken and wear off. The Invoice said they have changed my wiper and charge me for it, I have paid it and pick my car up and as I drive home and tested the wiper, it was still the old ones, which the rubber was partially detached from the wipers.
I was very upset and felt cheated, I drove back to the dealer service center asked about the wiper and because they were almost closed, asked me to come back again the day after.
Warning to others, do not trust this dealer service center. Check everything that they charged you, because possibly there is no work done on it, but they charge you for it.
Alto Honda Blacktown - Stay away!
Horrilble experience!!!! Would never go back there again.
We went in there yesterday to take a test drive of the Odyssey because I am looking to purchase a larger family car. After taking the test drive I asked the price of the car. I indicated that I would like to purchase the car on novated lease to save on tax and am happy to get my fleet provider to buy the car from them. The sales guy called in his manager and he questioned the lease process itself. I said my first car, which I wanted to trade-in was also on lease and I see a clear ben...efit with this. First the manager tried to convince me I was wrong. He even said when you buy a car on novated lease its not yours and I kept saying it is once you have paid the residual value of the car. Then he tried to convince me I cannot save money and when I gave him the calculations he realized that lease saves on tax but did not want to agree so kept saying there is something missing. When he could not prove his point he became very aggressive and started asking me why are you here. I said because I wanted to get a test drive. He gave me a clear impression that every person who walks in to their doors and takes a test drive has to buy the car from them and that too without lease. When I told him I am also looking as other cars and will decide once I have done my test drives with those he got even more rude and insulting. This kind of behaviour from a store manager is absolutely unexpected and shows poor quality. I hope Honda will take cognizance of this feedback.

Awful Service from Suttons Honda Homebush, don't buy from them
I purchased Honda CRV in 2016. At the time of purchase, there was a Honda scheme for 5 years new car warranty and roadside assistance on the vehicles.
Today 26 Jan 2018, I called Honda Roadside Assist on 1800 810 852 for my vehicle roadside assistance due to a puncture on left rear wheel tyre.
The Roadside Assist did not find this vehicle in the database by Registration or by VIN number. They have told me to call back on Monday. I understand public holiday in Australia wide but what about vehicle registration in their database for 2 year...s old vehicle. Now, you can understand if someone stuck in traffic at traffic light or lane in the middle with break down situation then it is important to help customer rather than worrying about details. This is very poor service from Sutton Honda when I called them, the General Manager of company advised me on the phone straight away to call back on Monday instead of listening to the problem. In the past this company trade as Larke Hoskins Honda and very bad experience in vehicle services. I would not recommend to buy any vehicle from this dealership just ruthless.
Questions & Answers
I bough a brand new Honda HR-V (DMW90V) in April 2017 form Parramatta Honda. I have had a rattle noise from the rear of the vehicle since early days and have complained about it in scheduled services. The problem persists and I have wasted a lot of days in getting this fixed by visiting the service center out of turn. I do not think it is being given the attention it should and I have complained multiple times. Can you please take this seriously and help?
Hi Prashant, Thanks for taking the time in bringing the matter to our attention. We shall pass a copy of your comments across to our Customer Service team for review and response.
