Well worth the extra cost
Just got a Honda blower great machine very low noise 1/4 throttle is more than enough to blow most rubbish away. 4 year warranty im sure won't be needed. I have other Honda equipment that just goes and goes first time like they say. Love it when after sitting there after months of not being used fist or second pull bang away we go ready for action.
ordinary. doesnt perform as i expected
Runs for a short time at full throttle. Then dies. I do not trust my service centre as they have said they have fixed it. But it isn't. Costing me close to 200 dollars and still isn't running. New filters spark plug, fuel lines you name it.My old stihl blower has been going well now for over 10. Can't bring myself to throw Honda out as it cost me twice the stihl price.
Temperamental. Does not run well at full throttle .
I agree with Shane75. I've had a Honda HHB25 for about 7 years and have had continual issues with it not been able to run at full throttle. You need to constantly feather the throttle to keep it ceasing. Unfortunately, starting the blower isn't the legendary one pull start that I have got of my Honda mowers (which are excellent and very reliable!!). I find i need to unscrew the fuel cap before engaging the fuel pump. I've had it fixed a couple of times but has never solved the issue.
Great when they are working properly
When I bought this machine it ran poorly and struggled to run at full throttle often. This prolem got worse and I returned the unit to be fixed. The carby was replaced under warranty. It now runs perfectly.
If you buy one of these machines and it doesn't run perfectly there is a good chance there is a problem with the carby or diaphragm. It should run cleanly at full throttle after about 15 seconds or so, not die as mine was. Take it straight back if there is a problem as I have had a bad experience with a Honda Brushcutter with the sam...e problem that worsened over 6 months - when I returned it I was charged for labour and replacement of the diaphragm - not covered under warranty apparently. I am certain there is a problem with some of these machines from the factory or they are sometimes stored for too long before being sold. I am also finding they run better on 91 unleaded than premium but that's just my experience. Good machine when running well and once sorted seem to be quite reliable.
I bought one of these after having good experience (including good warranty service) with my Honda brush cutter and Honda mower. The blower works very well and is very quiet compared to two-stroke models. It feels well-built (the nameplate says made in Japan, but I believe the engine is made in Thailand) and solid without being too heavy to use.
The only improvement would be a better handle for allowing two-handed operation.
Will not run at full throttle
Have to say that after a lifetime of using Honda products this is the first time I have had a problem, the trouble is I am in Flores, Indonesia [ This is why I bought the Honda because I require 100% reliability ] There are no Honda dealers here and I imagine I have the only blower. My HHB25 blower will not run at full throttle. It is only 2 years old and has minor use. I will check the fuel breather line, otherwise everything is fine and it still looks like new. Very disappointing .
Bought one new as a birthday gift for my father from a local mower store. Only needs 80ml of oil and a drop of unleaded to get started and didn't even bother using the choke because it starts so easily. Just right for clearing leaves, dust and lawn clippings from around the backyard. (You'll save about 5x the time and effort compared to using a broom and it will leave your yard cleaner - brooms leave behind fine dust and sand between pavers and a broom can't get to hard-to-reach places like behind BBQ's and under tables etc.). If you have a...big property and lots of trees you might need something more powerful - especially when leaves get wet (works a lot better when leaves and sand are dry) . Like others have said its pretty quiet and you don't really need ear muffs unless your running it constantly at full throttle, which is kind of ridiculous. My father is impressed and appreciates the reliability of Honda products. Hope Honda decides to make a 4-stroke chainsaw next. Quiet, light, no mess re-fueling & good power. Runs quite hot, plastic body & could be more powerful.
Super powerful and quiet.
Picked one of these blowers up this afternoon (Dealer was doing a special for $449) after the positive experience I've had with the Honda UMK425U Brushcutter, which uses the same engine. My Honda Dealer put in oil and petrol, started it and showed me how to use it. I brought it home, it started on the first pull and instantly I was just amazed about how quiet it was. My last blower was an Echo PB-2455 which was about 10 years old and worked incredibly well, with no faults and still does, but I was just sick of the smell of 2 stroke and the bloo...dy smoke they make when they're cold! Blowing power is very good, I've only gone full throttle for a little while because it's brad new, but it easily outdoes the old Echo even at 3/4 throttle. The Echo has a noise rating of 103 dB while the Honda is only 75 dB – I can comfortably use it without earmuffs. The weight of it is fine; a bit heavier than the Echo but really not by much. I'll do a follow up review after It's had a few more hours put on it, but for now, I'm very pleased. Quietness, ease of starting, doesn't smell like 2-Stroke, Blowing power
Quiet, powerful and so impressed!
I purchased today this Honda Blower HHB25, together with a Honda Buffalo HRU19K1 and the Honda Brush Cutter UMK425 Loop, from my local mower place, Zillmere Mower Centre at Virginia, Qld.
This blower has replaced my old Talon 2 stroke and right from its first start-up, this blower is fantastic!
It's extremely quiet, easy to start, light and easily used in either hand, these features quickly moved my mind from thinking about the quite expensive price tag for what it actually is....a blower.
For me though, no longer having to worry about...mixing oil and petrol was the decider in me buying this machine and I am totally impressed with it as I am with the other Honda equipment that I also bought today. Quiet, 4 stroke engine and very easy to hold
Excellent bit of kit
A top reliable piece of equipment from honda. The blower has plenty of power and is very reliable. I run a 4 stroke honda whippy and honda mower. (best i don't mention the mower). No need to stuff around with mixing fuels. A regular oil change and air filter clean keeps it running smooth.
Reliable. plenty of power
Original model has a problem with the carburettor when operating at full throttle
Sometimes it works perfectly however most of the time at full throttle the engine stalls out and you have to release the throttle otherwise the machine will snuffout. I have another mate who bought the same model at the same time and his does exactly the same thing. It appears that the fuel air mix is incorrect at full throttle. I have taken it back a number of times to be repaired but they have been unable to correct the fault
When it works it is great
Very annoying when you cant run on full throttle and have to keep backing of consistently so the engine doesn't stall
Croco's Honda Blower Review
I had my blower for the past six years and it hasnt missed a beat.
The days of mixing oil and fuel are gone with this little beauty.
There no more smokey and noisey 2strokes and you get far greater fuel effiency. theres plenty of power from the mini 4stroke engine, even at low engine speed, there is a couple of gripes I have with my blower,
I would like to see a blower vac model as option, and have option of different blower heads.
Somtimes my blower can be little slugish, when you want fulltrottle it
can hesitate a bit,apart from that ...
Over all you wouldnt need to sweep the paths again, very easy to maintain, instruction book very straight forward and tells you step by step from changing oil, trouble shooting, and how to ready the blower for long storage when you dont plant on using for a few months.
Easy pull start, starts first go even when cold. Can even blow grass away at idle speed. Unleaded fuel no mixing, when oil change is needed, pour old oil out fill it with the new.
Not the cheapest blower but for the price would have been good to see a vac feature.
you should buy this blower vac because it is very good and it would last for ages if you properly look after it and get it serviced every once in a while usually in any lawn mower shop that service lawn mower, they would proberly service it for you.
very, very good solid blower vac for use around the house or the street guter infront of your house. This blower is very easy to start, usually one to two pulls, but u need to prim the bulb a few times first. The blower vac is also very easy to use and control.
Nothing really, this blower vac is very good to use anywhere.
Great product. Recommended. Useful in doors eg. garage because of low noise and low emissions. Hard to see how to improve this hand held blower.
I compared the Honda to 3 other brands. The four stroke motor gives off no smoke. No worry about the exact fuel mix. Light weight and extremely quiet. No need for ear protection. Keeps the neighbors happy. Competitive price. Plenty of air flow and rarely need full power.
Would like the optional 'round' wand to be included. This fits the guttering better.
PROS- good solid machine, plenty of power and is very quiet. just as powerfull has all the other good quality machines.
very fuel efficient.
CONS - because it's quiet, it gives the impression that it's guttless.
Overall - good reliable machine, will start firts pull of the rope if primmed first and started without touching the throttle.
Questions & Answers
I have had a Honda 4 stroke mower for 4 years it recently has had trouble maintaining revs ,and stalls if is not held upright .it is only used for domestic use.
our local dealer said that it needs a new carburetor, which seems ridiculous when it is used only around the house, any ideas please ?
I have a HHB25 (2004) blower with the same 25cc engine and almost the same problem. Had to turn it upside down, in order to let it run on WOT... It stalled after 3-5 seconds if held upright.
Here is how i solved it:
You have remove the carburetor. Take the air filter off, remove two bolts, fuel lines etc..
Than take the moving part out (the one connected to the steelcable). Remove the two screws on top of the carburetor. (turn back idler screw for easy acces) . Look inside and you will see the main jet.
Split the carburetor (gently), by removing the 4 screws at the bottom. Make sure you dont lose parts (small spring inside), or damage the gaskets if you split the carburator.
Take some brake cleaner (in a spraycan) and clean the main jet!! (from both sides)
Clean the rest of the carburator to. Rebuild it, and adjust idler screw back to normal RPM.
Simple job, takes me about 10-15 minutes.
It worked for me, WOT all day long, no stalling, no problem in any position. :)
my honda handy blower starts runs for a short time then cuts out it will keep going as long as i stop and rev it a few times
mixed reviews here, poor when you consider the mark (Honda) and the cost and that the issues are more or less always the same. I was considering buying one of these blowers but the comments have turnd completely off. But, can you say the problems have been fixed for good maybe ? many thanks
Hi, Don’t be put off purchasing by negative comments. Buy from a legit Honda dealer and i’m sure you will not have any issues. I have three Honda garden care products and have never had any problems with any of them. If you are unlucky and do have a problem - Return it to your Honda dealer for repairs.
