Great for what it is...very happy.

published

This bike is fine for gravel road touring, country back roads and some light to mid off road fun, providing great grip. Sits happy on 85km on main roads and im 6ft 80kg. Dont expect it to be a 250 cc duel sport or a 100km plus road touring beast...it wont. Realise its an entry level bike at a great price with the backing of the Honda badge. Enjoy it for what it is and it will run no worries. Bargin at $4650 ride away inc rego etc (EOFY sale)....Quail 3.

Purchased in for $4,650.

Short butt

published

I wanted to put one of these on the road cause i'm a 5 foot 6 short butt smidget. But when i rode it thinking it was a mini XR I realised I was a full tosser - it's crap - it's overpriced and won't road fast enough. Another over wrapped nostalgic offshoot of a past successful model - same crap - different wrapper - disappointing

Not as good as previous ctx ag bike

I have owned the XR 190 for 2 years now . The front suspension is shot . So hitting a pot hole or rock in the paddock nearly throws you off, the stand seams to high and the bike is always falling over on the slightest of hill. And the engine stalls easy as there isnt enough torque only when taking off in a higher gear . Told these bike are made in China , makes sense. I would rather ride my CTX 200 with a carby

Purchased for $4,800.

Not fit for purpose

published

At 3500ks it melted a piston. I was travelling from one town to another at 80ks when it must have overheated .Honda would not pay for repairs .said it was a farm bike and not meant for the road. It's sold as a road trail bike .very cheaply made ..no good. As dirt bike either ..don't buy one

Purchased in for $4,500.

It's a short range commuter

It's a difficult bike to ride at slow speed especially in steep hill conditions no torque gravel roads doesn't have nice manners my road bike could match it open road 80klms feels the bike is being thrashed throttle to snappy would hate to chase cows in muddy conditions has a relaxed riding position like the carriers very good price so expectation should according

Purchased in at Southside honda for $4,000.

I am also considering the Honda XR190l AG, however, David S reports:
"The engine is a road bike style engine with fuel injection (a screamer engine) with very little torque, it has a very touchy throttle down low (this is the biggest problem with the bike and Honda say it is fine but have they tested it under tough farming conditions?) which makes it near impossible to ride for rounding up livestock at low speed" He also states that the bike is near to useless i hilly country due to city biased gearing? .....
Has Honda addressed the above issues in the 2019 model or the 2020 release?
I look forward to your reply.

Not to my knowledge, they did not feel the motorcycle had any issue it was considered normal operation, depending on your application you may want to either ride the unit first or consider alternatives
