Great suction on all surfaces
I love this vacuum. I recently upgraded from an Electrolux bag less vacuum.
I have pets so I needed something that could clean efficiently and quickly and this does just that. I go from hard floor to carpet without needing to change the head. And with a flick of the switch I get extra power to deep clean the carpet.
Being a bagged vacuum its actually a much cleaner machine and doesn't need all the maintenance a bagless vacuum needs.
Only con is that it's a bit hard to maneuver around objects.
Purchased in May 2020 at Godfreys Physical Stores for $420.00.

Great Power!
Was very surprised by the amount of dust sucked from my carpet the first time using the machine. Realised how much i was missing after my cheap kmart one broke. The power head is great for carpet, but the power needs to be turned down for rugs - or use the non powered head. Bagged which doesn't bother me. Does however have tendency to topple over with with little wheels.
Purchased in September 2019 at Godfreys for $400.00.

Great vacuum cords a bit short
I love this vacuum it's powerful great suction especially the light option with more power with the spinning head brilliant but it's an absolute pain with such a short cord and it tips over constantly I'll quite often turn to see it upside down and it's so frustrating
Purchased in March 2019 for $299.00.

Really cleans carpet well
Christine loaned me her one and its great .cleans carpet of dog hair and smell.
Very strong construction ..heavy build almost commercial standard I recon.
Does trip over its own lead and hose sometimes. Will definitely buy it off her

Does the job
I bought this vacuum when I was living with my housemates dogs and cats. It managed to pick up hair best on carpet, but sometimes struggled sucking up items off the tiled/timber flooring. This vacuum has a vet short chord of maybe 3m. It makes for a very annoying chore having to unplug and use multiple powerpoints throughout the house. The vacuum comes with lots of different heads for cleaning cars etc.

Good Vacuum performance
The vacuum cleaner has great suction and definitely works well with the power head for dog hair. The power cord however is not long enough and I always need an extension cord attached. The wheels on it are very small and it tips over very easily. The flexi hose also kinks a lot as both ends don't swivel. It is a very efficient cleaner other than the other draw backs mentioned, but I also bought it on price and for the power head which is amazing. I also like the variable suction control for different uses, and it's very quiet.
Purchased in April 2018 for $499.00.

Fantastic for carpets
We have mainly carpets but a few tiled areas. Have found this vacuum cleaner to be perfect for our needs . We recently tested it next to a Dyson dc54 and what the Hoover did in one go took the Dyson about 8 times going over . Very happy with our purchase. Only complaint is it often tips over

Does a great job of lifting dirt and dog hair out of the carpet
I was amazed when I first bought this vacuum at how much dirt a d dog hair it pulled out if my carpet on the first go, especially given that I'd just vacuumed the day before with my old vacuum. A year on and it's still performing just as well. It's light and easy to manoeuvre and it only takes a few seconds to remove and empty the barrel. Cleaning the filter every few months is pretty straight forward too. The body of the vacuum does tip over if you catch the wheels on anything but I expect that's the same with all vacuums in this style.

Great little vacuum cleaner
I used to have a Dyson, but was totally blown away at how this little vacuum cleaner picked up so much dirt from my carpet.
The only issue I have is the cord is to short have to use a extension cord have only had a week but I am very impressed with it especially for the price . The power head is amazing .

A must have for carpet areas
After our last Hoover vacuum, we didn't think twice about buying the Action Pets model when upgrading. We have large carpeted areas and pets that shed badly and it never lets us down. The power head is very effecient at picking up all the fur and the dirt and dust from aging carpet that's due for replacing.
The vacuum is light enough that we can easily tackle the carpeted stairs with it too. We haven't had any issues with it tipping over and can get good life from the bags before they need changing.
The small handheld power head is a g...
Read morereat idea and would be prefect for tricky areas and furnishings but unfortunately it jams quickly with hair and fur. Its also air driven instead of motor driven like the big powerhead which I think contributes to the loss of function when jammed. Bit disappointed that I need to stop after a few minutes and cut and detangle it (this process takes a few minutes each time and makes the task longer and frustrating). But if you don't have pets and female hair to clean up you should be fine! Overall very happy with this small exception.LarissaQuairading

Great product
This vacuum has great suction power, but tends to get blocked up a bit but easy to fix.
The machine is light with moderate sound, easy to move around hose dies tangle on occasion.
Normally used on carpet in two rooms then change heads and do wood flooring.
Machine does pump a bit of hot air out though

Has been great!
Has a great suction and I like the light on the nozzle. My only con to it is that the length of the cord is shorter than I’d like, I’m always changing PowerPoints to vacuum other areas. It also has a small container so doesn’t hold much and I have to stop to empty it more often than I’d like. I’m surprised I haven’t blown it up from overfilling it. It’s not the best on tiles or floorboards, but I don’t know if that’s a generic vacuum thing, blowing the debris backwards. The overall vacuum is great for a smaller house.
Suggestion for the manufacturers
I recently bought a Hoover Action Powerhead. It does a great job, but it catches on the doorways and corners when I am pulling it along like most vacuum cleaners. A real nuisance.. I have a suggestion for the manufacturers. What about designing one that has no edges sticking out, just a smooth surface from the hose to the beyond the wheels. like mudguards on a car. Make them from a softer plastic to protect skirting boards and corners that reach from the hose and curve around to just beyond the wheels. The wheels would be set in just like a car. This vacuum would be far more practical and easier to use because it would slide around the corners. Lets know what you think.

A solid vacuum cleaner with a power head on the cheap (with minor build issues)
Hoover in all honesty has impressed me. The item was bought a year ago, and has worked quite well. The experience can be summed up by saying: " You get what you pay for"
The first con that comes to my mind would be the build quality. Its built well enough, but i feel like its not as sturdy as i would like it to be. About a year (11 months in), i often hear squeaks when i hold the vacuum cleaner with a bit of force. Its nothing too major, but relates to the plastic handle. One of the wheels on the lower left side also feels a bit off (loose...
Read more), which was a let down (hence -1 star) It is relatively easy to maneuver and use, but i find the cable to be a bit short. Another gripe i have is going in reverse, as that without fail always seems to tangle up the cables (due to the design of the vacuum cleaner). It's these minor inconveniences that add up over time, a leave a slightly negative impression. However, day to day performance is solid. It comes boxed with a power head, which is super handy for cleaning carpets and the suction is quite strong. Its a very pleasant experience for me so far using and it hasn't has any anomalies. It also has a knob that can adjust between the different power settings, and has a visual representation (above knob). I've cleaned wooden floors, carpets, tiles and curtains (includes a head for curtains) with ease, the cleaner is mainly built with plastic but it does pack quite a bit of power under the hood. Overall, im quite happy with the purchase and consider it to be a lot more affordable and versatile than what dyson offers around the $500 range. Cleans carpet well.
Really good for cleaning carpets with the power head. We are very happy with our purchase.
There are two small annoyances, one is the bags fills up very fast due to the good cleaning action, but more than happy to change bags regularly to get clean carpets. The other is the power head does clog up with hair and other similar wast, and needs to be cleaned at least once a month, but as before we are more than happy to remove the waste hair to get clean carpets.

Very good vacuum cleaner
The Hoover action pets vacuum cleaner is very good on carpets. The handle is a bit heavy because of the power head. It is sometimes hard to maneuver because of the heavy and thick power head. A bit pricey but depends how long its life lasts. Finally, a good vacuum cleaner.

Above average vacuum cleaner with a very short cord
Not a bad vacuum cleaner, targeting pet owners with the motorised head. Great telescopic stem and handy "add ons". The motorised head works well, but gets clogged up quickly and needs to be taken apart to clean. The build quality is all plastic so I am assuming it won't last long, but we will wait and see. The electricity cord is terribly short, so you will need an extension cord to get around. The Hoover is not cheap at $499 and I can only compare this vacuum cleaner with our old Wertheim (made in Europe), purchased almost 20 years ago for $90...

I like this vacuum
I purchased this from Godfreys earlier this year and I am quite happy with its performance. The blue light on the power head is a really great feature that I would have not thought necessary but is probably my favourite thing about the vacuum because it shows areas that you may have missed. The powerhead itself is great and helps lift more dust from your carpet. This vacuum is so quiet!! I can vacuum late at night without disturbing the neighbours or the rest of the household. One downside is that it's not bagless however we have the bag saver ...
Read moreattachment on the vacuum pole and rarely need to change the vacuum bag itself. i have a really messy partner who doesn't think to take his shoes off at the door and tends to make a lot of mess in general, crumbs etc, so we use this vacuum several times a day in a 4bedroom house and there has been no loss of suction. I would buy another one if it were on sale, I wouldnt say I love it but I like it a lot.LittleQuillQueensland

A great vacuum cleaner to own if you have carpets or pets (or both)
After my piranha died, I knew it was the last time I'd buy a cheap vacuum cleaner, so, my partner and I went to our nearest Godfrey's to look for a decent one. I originally wanted a stick vacuum cleaner, because I find them easier to deal with physically. When we were told that all of the stick vacuum cleaners were sold out, the sales person directed us toward Hoover after asking us what we were looking for. (He tried to sell us a 700+ dollar one, but that was beyond our budget) Then he showed us this one, and told us all about the powerhead te...
Read morechnology, gave us a demonstration and all that too. I was not only impressed with what it could do, but also that it was bagged, and the prettiest turquoise colour! Naturally, we bought it and took it home. It brought the carpets up to almost new! The vibrating head and the LED lights on it make it almost a complete joy to use. It has different suction levels for the types of floors, rugs, curtains and upholstry you can use it on, which is both really nice and innovative as i have never seen another vacuum cleaner do this. For me, there are cons as well though. As mentioned above, I prefer stick vacuums, and even with the Hoover, that remains the case. I find that the drum is akward and almost unstable when in use. It does not move very well, and for me, it requires fair amounts of yanking on the hose to bring it closer to me because it's quite heavy. It's also horrible for turning around corners as it will either collide with the wall (which I don't like, because the house is a rental), or will flat out fall over either onto it's side or roll onto it's back. Lastly, the hose is also known to kink, which is also very annoying. Having said all that, we now also own a stick Dyson, and I now use that more often than the Hoover, but having used both, I can tell you that in terms of actual vacuuming, the Hoover definitely stands up for itself. As far as I'm concerned, there is next to no difference in the end result between the two. I really only use the Dyson more because it's easier for me to use. I still bring out the Hoover and use it when I feel like it, and will alternate between the two. All-in-all, it's a very, very good vacuum cleaner, and I am glad we bought it.Questions & Answers
