Garbage. Clogs constantly. Barely lasts 20 minutes. Terrible to empty.
Cleans OK but from new the battery barely lasts long enough to do much more than a room and takes hours to recharge. I see Hoover replies that it's not a replacement for a normal vac but it's not exactly cheap and nowhere does the packaging nor their agent Godfreys state otherwise. Disgraceful conduct by both parties and my last purchase involving either.
Pathetic product not fit for purpose
Have had nothing but problems you have to practically dismantle and unclog after every use or the battery cuts out. When i took it back i was told by 2 sales people that clogging up was a common problem. It was nearly out of warranty but again hardly used cos so unpracticle. I will go back to my tried and tested VAX as they dont let you down in a couple of years they normally last at least 10 or 12 years with no problems. Shame on Hoover for promoting this product as an efficient pet hair cleaner dont buy as its a waste of money.
Not worth spending over $600 on this product
We were out to buy Dyson and stopped at Godfrey FountainGate, they said we have much better vacuum and shown us against Dyson.
The trick they used were that they were using a clogged up (not cleaned for a while) dyson vacuum (now we know why this one seems better that time) against a cleaned hoover vacuum.
This one is no way near Dyson,
Battery, operation time, getting clogged so quick.
We won't go to the Godfrey ever as they have dodgy sales people to manipulate.
We lost over $600 But learnt a lesson.
Do not trust Godfrey vacuum ever again.
Got sucked in too.
I was sold this vac for a quick tidy up. As with all other comments the battery died very quickly and then stopped working on high. Now completely dead. Would not ever buy a Hoover again. What a shame that this product is such poor quality and marketed (pushed) by Godfrey's. Now will not shop there again - used to be my shop of choice.
no good at all
Hoover if you know the Battery is crap why do you not find a better one or make replacement ones cheaper to buy $170 is way to much to soend after Paying $699 for ie to only last a short time
Purchased in February 2018 for A$699.00.
its rubbish will never buy another hoover product stick vacuum works on low speed when press high speed vacuum stops
works on low speed stops soon as i press fast speed button just works on low speed less than two years old fills up to quick would a faulty battery cause this
I like so many others have owned the $650 Air Stick Pro for 2 years and the battery has degenerated markedly after only 18 months. I visited Godfreys today and got no sympathy whatsoever. A new battery is NZ$159. And it is the same as the original so it will last 2 years at the best. I can go to KMart and buy a whole new Dyson type stick vac for that price and it will be guaranteed for one year also (similar voltage). My bet is that the KMart battery will last a lot longer than the Hoover. So why bother with another substandard Hoover battery.
Absolute waste of money
The man at godfreys sold me this vacuum cleaner using bicarbonate or baking powder. A fine dust I would say. Now they won’t repair my air stick pro because they tell me I’ve used it on fine dust.
The battery’s are only covered for a year in its warranty, however after reading reviews the battery seems to be the issue, and rarely lasting beyond a year. The customer service people said I needed to factor in environmental and useage. Well my vacuum lives in my lounge and I use it on tiles and wool carpet.
I would STRONGLY advise not to buy this vacuum. After paying in excess of $500 for it, do I think it’s fair it’s only expected to last a year? No I don’t.
good back up but NOT as main machine
Purchased to replace a Dyson DC05 Absolute as needed some parts after 22 years, can't source so repaired it myself and bought a hoover airsick pro, seemed great for about 1 month then the head failed no HI function...returned to store and "fixed". went well for 6 months and now won't stay on high just turns self off. Battery has significantly reduced and a second battery is exorbitantly priced and won't work as it has to be on the unit to charge!! hello!! Use it every week and for quick tidy ups but can't be relied on for weekly clean. Still need to go and buy a new vacuum.
Not good, but not that bad.
My Air Stick is 2 years old. I found the same problems others did, but with a bit of IQ you can live with it. Cleaning it out can be done quickly with a flexible stick. The roller gets hair and threads rolled around it, but it comes out easily, with only one latch. Then use scissors to cut the hair etc off...takes 5 minutes. The battery died after 2 years, but this might happen on other vacs too. Dust container is too small, but it's small on most of these types of vacs. The design is not as good as it could be, but it's only hopeless to peopl...e who can't work out some simple maintenance. When it's properly maintained it works very well. Overall, considering its design and battery problems, it's too expensive, but if you already have one, put some effort in to learning how to maintain it.
The Hoover Air Stick Pro is Just So Baddddd
Great for a couple of months, then it started, electric foot roller died. power boost stopped and then not enough power to drag the dust into collection area so pipes blocked up. This machine is so hopeless it's a joke please be kind to yourself do not think about purchasing this toy
Purchased at NZ.
Worked great for a year, then battery went and was replaced under warranty.
Now the battery has gone again not even a year later, the hose on the power head had spilt so I got that replaced, even their floor model had a spilt in it when I showed him what I was talking about.
I replaced the brush as it works on high for 2 mins then the brush won't spin, this was happening before I replaced the brush.
What in the hell is wrong with the vacuum now?
Ended up buying a new Samsung stick vacuum, but hoping to fix the Hoover so it can be stored and used in my son's room, so my son leaves my new vacuum alone.
Poor Battery life
12 months old and very poor battery life. To be fair if you arent vacuuming large objects and empty it after every use it doesnt clog. But once a week you have to take the roller out and de-hair it. No good in a household with 3 women with long hair. Battery life day 1 was about 30 mins on low. Now its about 5. Not worth the 500 dollars. No-name models run better. We bought a Kogan, about 100 dollars, runs rings around this Hoover.
A complete waste of money
The feed tube regularly gets blocked with carpet fluff and is very difficult to unblock. In the last few months it has taken to cutting out within a few seconds of being switched on.
Thought I was buying a good Product
I too have had problems with battery life with my Hoover Air Stick Pro. I deliberately purchased what I thought was a reliable product but have been disappointed. The Battery started to fail after only 12mths and I have put up with it until now - just cost me a further $145 for a new battery. My Car Battery lasts longer then that!!! Was encouraged to buy this product by Godfreys Browns Plains
I was in the market for a new vacuum after having an old Dyson for many years. I was convinced by a Salesperson at Godfrey’s that their product was superior and that Dyson was now a very poor product. I needed a versatile product for hard and carpeted flooring and wanted no cords. I spent $599 thinking it was a great investment and would serve my purposes and provide years of working ability. How wrong I was. I spent more time cleaning it out, it continually blocked up, battery never stayed charged long enough and would cut out after a few sec...onds. I have a box of accessories I never used and threw the heap of rubbish to the tip exactly where it belonged in the first place. I will NEVER set foot into another Godfrey’s store or ever ever buy another Hoover. Dyson all the way for the future of cleaning and versatility. If your thinking of parting with your hard earned money on an inferior product, please don’t waste your time and energy.
Purchased in March 2017 for A$599.00.
Not fit for purpose
Used on hard floors and carpet. Picks up dust and animal hair well.
It blocks up virtually every time I use it. Half a garlic clove skin will block it up.
Because the machine doesn’t come apart, just locating the blockage is time consuming.
Unblocking is VERY convoluted - you can’t remove the stick from the handle to see into it and clean it out, and getting to the power head brush requires the removal of 6 screws.
Mine has a battery life of 10 minutes. I spend more time unblocking it than I do using it.
Astonishingly poorly designed.
Poor battery life.
Worls well but gets clogged up quickly. First battery dies just out of warranty. Bought a new one and it worked well for a couple of months Then the motorised head stopped working. Pretty rubbish bit of kit. I used to swear by Hoover, not any more.
Worst appliance I have ever bought
Bought this stickvac from Godfreys in May 2018 for $499. Very unsatisfactory except for the hand held facility which is satisfactory. I have carpet and hard floors. Small house but battery never lasts long enough to complete job. Usually just pushes dirt away on hard floors. Has to be pulled apart (no easy task) after every use. Gone back to soft broom on hard floors, much less trouble. Had it back to Godfreys and they replaced agitator and handle while still under warranty. Worst investment in household appliance I've ever made and I wouldn't give or sell it to anyone. Basically I've paid $499 for a hand held vac with unsatisfactory battery life.
Would be great if it worked well consistently!
I use it mostly on hard surfaces and occasionally on low pile carpet in my small apartment.
It was a big investment for me and it has been very troublesome. Not charging at all and not holding charge and working for a few seconds then shutting off. Charger was replaced shortly after purchase while on warranty but now warranty has ended and problem with battery/charger will have to come out of my pocket. Im very disappointed. This machine should have been recalled going by the reviews on here.
Questions & Answers
The motor switches off after less than 30 seconds even when fully charged it will run alot longer on low speed
Hi Sam. I don't think there is any doubt your battery needs replacement. You can take it out yourself, no tools required and order a new one. At present Hoover might not have them because they come from China and shipments don't seem to be normal. The only consolation is other stick vacuums, even the costly ones, appear to have similar problems. My Hoover battery lasted about 2 and a half years, which isn't too bad. When it's working and you keep it free of dust blockages, it's a pretty good little vac. Alan
My Air Stick Pro cuts out after about 10 seconds on high setting.
Is it just a simple battery swap to fix the problem?
Mine does this too and yes I think that is the answer. However at present Hoover seems to be out of stock of the batteries, which are imported from China. From the reviews I have seen on other brands of stick vacuums, it appears they suffer similar prblemc.
Our Hoover air stick pro does this exact thing also. Has done it since a few months after purchasing mind you we have had it for almost 3yrs now. It’s now to the point on the normal speed setting I’ll be lucky to get a small bedroom done before conking out . I am yet to buy a new battery for it but am concerned about the battery quality as the original battery hasn’t really been good.
